I do agree with a lot of things, especially how they never explained why ChenLi had to leave the island in the first place, I had to rewind to make sure I didn't miss something.

There are lots of things that weren't explained regarding their inner feelings, but I feel like I actually like the simplicity of the series. We do see some of their inner conflict, ChenLi switching around the painting from the red/blue background, XiaoZhi's breakdown etc. I think overall I just like this simple story, but yes definitely much room for improvement.

I was also mildly confused about ChenLi's whole wedding thing?? Like did he actually have a wedding or not

Given how much I like this and Hidden Love, I realised I'm a huge sucker for the chaotic sibling energy and the falling for the older sibling's super caring best friend trope. Genuinely did not expect to love them so much!!

The actors looked so young I genuinely had to come check their ages TT

I would give it a 9 too, it's really good but not perfect for me, but i had to take 8.5 off because of the rushed ending, i need more closure than that

He definitely felt something for FX even before FX confessed, but no way in hell SL would leave ZZ for FX, at least imo he wouldn't because his character is precisely a loyal as heck person. SL would not have even considered the slightest attraction he might've felt for FX while he's still dating ZZ because he knows it's wrong. So frankly, FX wouldn't have stood a chance with SL if he was still dating ZZ

I agree 100%, it's so raw and dark, no typical tropes or forced comedy, just pure emotions and pain. I wish we had more sweetness and not just 7eps of angst, that would've made it so much better

Actually just from the first episode alone, we've already gotten hints at why FX was suddenly obsessed with ShuLang. First it's cuz it's fate that he saw him at the hospital after that car accident, and second (most importantly), he saw ShuLang's 'kindness' and became obsessively interested in this 'bodhisattva'

It's very very uncomfortable, he's probably the blackest flag character I've ever seen in a BL, cuz he's not only bad to everyone, he's also really really bad for the person he loves.

There were many times I was just screaming and yelling and cussing at him through the screen (and flipping him off) because I got so mad at how he's treating ShuLang, I swear if MC wasn't so strong-willed and smart and not as easily manipulated, any other guy would've cracked in ep1 under FX's manipulation

Not red, he's as black as the abyss haha. Yeah I do think FX's character is very pitiful. and he deserves redemption, but i found it a bit hard to accept him and SL being tgt again after all the horrible things he's done to him. But I kinda get it, with a relationship so complex and deep, it's basically impossible for them to not be entangled forever. As long as FX keeps at trying to change for the better, then ig he deserves a second chance with SL
