I really hate when they make the actors shoot for these scenes which we would too love watching and then edit…
wait. i dont think they actually filmed that scene. weren't they just joking around imagining what could've happened in those 9 years. unless i was mistaken. i mean i hope im mistaken LOL because then i need those deleted scenes asap
i lived for every time miya made fun of nanke. it was literally the best thing ever. their proposal was the best thing ever. They're both so cute. Also loved teh scene where her brother lied to him that she was abducted and had him bursting into her apartment while she's taking a shower LOL. he tries to be all "dark and mysterious" but then miya is so girlcrush it literally never works out HAHAHAHA. he's always lik "im a bad guy, ive been to jail. stay away from me or ill hurt you" and she's just like "youre so cute." i cry. I still can't believe how lovey-dovey the leads become after being together XD see weixan had it in him, it was just supressed by his hatred for his dad lol XD
I definitely think this drama has one of the most beautiful scenery and cinematography. And ofc, esp. that last…
yeah, the whole show was like the prettiest thing i've ever seen in my life. the night scenes were gorgeous, beautifully lit with warm-tones that made their skin golden and the atmosphere either very cozy and emotion-heavy or dramatic and intense when they played with shadows and candlelight. the day scenes were always so vibrant and colourful, honestly it made all the characters so pretty and the sceneries and locations shot were so well chosen. There's always a flower meadow shot in historical dramas, but it's rarely at night and misty like the yellow flower meadow scenes in this show. It was honestly so pretty and mystical. lol, im just repeating myself over and over again HAHA
I think people are a little underwhelmed at the "ending" because of the way the drama was released with the final episode being seperated. If 15 and 16 were released together then the giant climax ending was 15's ending and then 16 was to wrap it up, give a nice epilogue etc. Even I at first thought something more was going to happen in ep 16, like they were gonna go back, save the king, be reunited, but looking back, the ending was actually really heart-renching and poetic. Nokdu finally comes face to face with his father, after all the terrible things the king did to him he still protected the palace and stopped the rebellion.... and his father doesn't believe him. He's still as stubborn and cruel as before and Nokdu has given so many chances. So Nokdu says all the words he's kept in his heart, and then leaves, because no one is ever going to change and he's so over trying to be the "good guy" when all it does is hurt everyone around him. In a way the bad guys win and Nokdu gives up, choosing to treasure those around him instead of focusing on a world he was never apart of. It's bittersweet but I love to think of ep 16 as an epilogue of those heros in history who "disappeared" and no one knows what happened to them or where they went after saving everyone, but actually he's living secretly and happily with everyone he loves. Aren't these kind of endings very much more "folk tale" like? It makes it more nostalgic and mystical, this is the "tale of nokdu" of course, a story that makes you question if nokdu was ever real or just a legend.
btw, the cinematography and the island shots in the last ep were freaking magical and so so pretty. i mean, i really felt like i was watching a mystical dream
the best part of this series is actully watching interviews and...
watching taeoh lie through his teeth saying his character is the sweet-hearted playboy of the show that only loves one woman XD its so funny to go back and watch everyones faces when he says that
love how the demons aren't actually evil, they've just been wronged somehow and are trying to survive. the tree demon was so cute, i was so sad when they were gonna chop him down. i also liked the 5 brothers LOL. all the demons are really adorable tbh. I love that the "bitchy 2nd female lead" is actually super nice in her own way and hilarious and pretty harmless (and lies about her age HAHA, so she's not 1000yrs, shes like 2000haha). even the clumsy demon catcher is freaking cute: sticking useless talismans on the demons faces, always mistaking humans for demons and never noticing the demons that are right in front of him XD
lol, they tried saving that dream demon but he ended up in fangirl hell instead XD i laughed so hard when he wakes up sharing a drink with that koreaboo and realises he's fucked up HAHA
i liked how they portrayed how stalker/crazy fans can really mess with a person and some of the down sides to fame. the female lead was really sweet and understanding about these issues
tbh i totally forgot nokdu dressed up as a girl for like half the show till i watched an interview of the cast…
LOL. that pop boyband feelgood ost that used to end every episode and stuff XD "one of a kind a girl" it really does feel nostolgic. salute to story progression
i couldnt work out why harim sounded so familiar when he talked, then i realised in the last episode. he sounds excactly like NCTdream's jaemin... or should i say jaemin sounds like him XD well they both have that playboy image too LOL
also even if this story doesnt have the most perfect logic, you gotta admit that it's equally amusing, cute and hilarious how they have to kiss everytime to exchange their senses, especially when they start liking it HAHAHAA. this story has its imprefections but it also has a lot of things im impressed with in terms of plot development or characterization. if only the quality was consistent throughout it could easily be one of the best cdramas out there, but it's still engaging regardless and entertainment isnt always about whether it could win an oscar or whatever lol
ok the secondary couple is literally the best thing ever XD so much angst LOL i love it. an interesting love story that you don't really see in cdramas that much
nooooooo. prince ling. i am devastated, although he did some wrong, he actually did a lot more good, and yet everyone only saw his bad sides. he was obviously a very lonely character who couldnt get close to his mother because of guilt for his brother, couldnt get close to his brother to protect his mother. couldnt get close to his father because he thought he hated his brother and couldnt get close to the woman he loved because she loved his brother. in the end he died to try to save everyone else. he tried to protect everyone he loved and its so freaking sad they killed him.
Before i go watch this, can someone tell me this is not (hopefully) A drama where the ml is torn between his first…
lol god no. there isnt even a "first love", just a childhood friend who has an unrequited love on him, unlike a lot of dramas, he really doesnt care too much about her feelings (and is never swayed by her tricks even once LOL), in fact its more like SHE thinks they're friends when theyre not even. if you're asking if she ever tries to break apart the main couple, then yes, theres some plot like that but the OTP is strong af and their two personalities really arent the type to be "swayed" by unreasonable nonsense or whatever.
I still can't believe how lovey-dovey the leads become after being together XD see weixan had it in him, it was just supressed by his hatred for his dad lol XD
