yes. a cdrama finally did it right. you know what's better then a smart male lead and a female lead who cant make toast, two equally intelligent characters who like to one up each other. now isn't that way more interesting???? this is what General and I should've been LOL
can't believe we went from Yul Mu comedically avoiding Nokdu after they kissed each other to the two of them going…
tbh i totally forgot nokdu dressed up as a girl for like half the show till i watched an interview of the cast and was like, oh yeah. that was a thing. that widow village was a thing. i swear if you watch the trailer of the show you'll think its a different drama
when yulmu's bodyguard/best friend died and he held him and said his name all desperatly like he couldnt believe what happened, that hit me. I mean yulmu's messed up but the fact he isn't a complete demon and lost all energy to continue his revolt after his friend died really made his character even more tragic (and also hella interesting) ive always liked kang tae oh since My first first love, which is a freaking hilarious comparison if you know what kind of character he played in that show XD actually this scene made me think of a scene from todemo no kiss which SPOILER ALERT:
when the female lead died at the wedding and the male lead fell to the floor clutching her and called her name in the saddest way. i dunno, those types of scenes really get you in the feels XD
I must admit this show started off very light-hearted and the females acting did annoy me and the way she was…
seriously she never ever thought about herself in any situation. she was always willing to die for everyone and anyone she cared about and was never selfish. She always did the right thing and always forgave people and gave them second chances. she sacraficed soooooo much for the male lead, for the second male lead, all the fire clans people, her sect, literally everyone, and was never threw a fit over it. At the beginning of the show i really hated her but because the show is so long, as it progressed i suddenly found myself liking her and her personality. people should push through her niave and childish character at the beginning if you like other parts of the show because she changes ALOT
Actually when she regains her memories and becomes more mature the other characters want to erase her memories again so she can live worry-free and happy like in the past, but she's the one who says she hated her past self for being so immature and not being able to help others, while they always protected her, and that she didn't want to be useless anymore and protect those she cares about.
I must admit this show started off very light-hearted and the females acting did annoy me and the way she was written, but the story gradually gets serious and there's a part where she regains her memories and then becomes very mature and actually quite a commendable character who will do anything for her friends and never acts out just cause she's in a bad mood or "not herself", which every other character does at one point. Also during the more serious parts she showed a lot of potentional to be a really good actor so i have no idea why on earth the script made her act so animated in the first half??? anyone whos seen the whole show agree with me?
this show isn't perfect but the feeling it gives you is 10/10. its one of those sweet colourful girlish(?) types that make you feel good inside. all the characters are very cute and they follow their dreams in the big city, and the friendship is really so great and the couples are all very cute. If your looking for that kind of drama that's not about the drama/deep stuff but still has heart then this dramas perfect. i watched it whenever i was tired or feeling down. The ost is really really pretty too. the acting was really good too. im impressed with the main leads.
I'll mark this as a spoiler because it might reveal the ending, but dongjoon wins female lead of the year! how…
that's the most accurate thing ive ever heard. i mean classics are classics for a reason, theres nothing wrong with using a trope if it's done well, which this drama does. so yeah XD I clowned it a lot in my last post but actually im so obsessed and impressed with it hahaa. it's defs one of the best shows this year
more and more i become impressed with this show. the cineamatography is stunning and the acting is brilliant and every episode i fall harder for the dialogue and how it's written. I enjoyed this show when it was light-hearted but honestly my heart is invested into the later-half and the emotional journey of the main character. like this was not what i was expecting but i love it moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

this conversation is lowkey funny now after watching the latest episodes XD i cannot XD but tbh i wasn't that annoyed that she left him cause it's a pretty solid reason (as opposed to other dramas) and nokdu also didn't let her go straight away and put up a pretty good fight even blunty asking "tell me properly the reason you have to go", i mean logically speaking i should'nt even be impressed by that but its a big step for kdramas so it comes off as super refreshing XD (kdramas be lowering my standards in people so much i be impressed by the most basic of shit lol) i mean talking would've been the best, but i'll also give it some leeway because this is a historical drama where people actually die if you fuck up. this kind of trope only really annoys me in modern dramas because it's like, it's not that serious? just go home and drink some tea. watch some netflix. think over your ish. fb message him your sorry. long distance it if you have to. end of drama. like XD
nooooo. his brother is too cruel, and his adopted father is really the best dad ever and im so glad nokdu has him because he always does what's right while still wanting the best for nokdu. they had so many touching scenes in these last two episodes All the emotional scenes were brilliant, i just love the dialogue. when nokdu told his father he should've "thrown him away" it made cry a little. When the king and nokdu are together, too, you can really feel nokdu's pain. He's going to turn a bit bad now, i dont blame him. I should've known they'd written him too good for this world, and those characters always have a breaking point. I'm curious as to whether he'll stick with it in the distant future.

wow. i couldnt work out why that sccene touched me so much but youre 100% right. instead of blaming everything on him, a normal person would stand by your guy because you KNOW him and he's probably the one who's more sad. it like never happens in kdrama, the female lead is always selfish and dumb af when it comes to blaming things his family did in the past on HIM. that scene was soooooooo pretty and theyre so good at acting and crying and in a pretty way too XD usually id say "someone please give nokdu a hug", but i dont have to because our female lead did TT
wow. the ending of ep 24 is really the most tragic thing ever. This is Nokdu's turning point because so far he's tried to do everything right and believe in his father, despite knowing that he wanted to kill him in the past, even coming to save him by risking his own life and then he realises how much of an idiot he's been. It was such a great scene, especially because he was literally a step away from telling him but in the end couldn't bring himself to.
I started watching the drama because of Jang Dong Yoon’s acting skill. Actually I skipped about one third of…
yeah like most kdramas, the plot starts off with a lot of comedy and fun moments but its main story is actually quite serious once they get into it, so i totally recccomend watching all of it ^^
