No they are not... It was a trend with this style of garments in China, for them is nothing unusual. Also, leaks with SY were circulating since last year with that shirt, is nothing new for then right now.

It's a strange trend in China with fake "stained" clothing. A bit like the "ripped" ones with holes and running threads that were trending a couple years before, they look quite hilarious.

Perhaps you are right, but that was the only moment in the drama that I felt the need to skip because I thought was not interesting and I got impatient, which usually I never do. Oh well...

I don't really mind supporting actors having some lengthy scenes when these scenes have a certain relevance for the drama. But the 2 ice skaters kiddos brought absolutely nothing to the drama so far, they were clearly pushed forward for another reason. People tend to exalt XZ's good heart and character, which I know very well, but when is about work, he's always been professional and he's always been against skipping the main hard road for the fast shortcut, so I don't believe he really agree with random people being pushed forward randomly into his dramas with the risk of ruining the flow of his works.
My opinion.

I couldn't resign (for various reasons), but I can't neither complain too much. Working in the fashion industry is sometimes cruel and the competition is really tough, sometimes you need to endure in order to make a good career, which I knew from the beginning. Its just that when you hit your head against that wall, it really hurts for a while.
Now I have an established reputation with a nice cv, a great salary and I can finally change job whenever I want, my name is requested by well known brands which is paying off the years of hardship. 😊

Why do I feel that the producers of XZ's dramas are always pushing into the limelight some random unknown actors only to try to make them known to the wider public? Like the two ice skater kids, they are so superfluous to the drama that is just pure and plain filler, which I hate. They are taking advantage of XZ's popularity to promote nugu's... never seen this happening with other actors.

Thank you, yeah it was a stage of life when you grow from being a young girl to a grown up woman and learn to not let others stomp on your feet so easily. It's also a lesson that the confidence in ppl once lost is hard to gain it back and now I hardly trust anyone, even if they have good intentions.
But I don't have traumas or anything like that, was just job stuff, everything is in the past. ☺

OMG after watching the preview of the new episode, let me tell you that the plot is really hitting me on a very sore spot... ahah!
So, I'll tell you my experience and why I can relate so much with Sheng Yang again.
During the pandemic, the company where I'm working has been struggling to keep up with the work as we were all doing smart working from home, which was quite a hassle and not an easy task. Several employees either resigned or got fired during that time and the enterprise had to give up in a few contracts because of that reason. When pandemic was over and we resumed office work, another of my co-worker resigned. At that time I was already handling as senior a famous luxury brand and I was in a collab for another one, which were keeping me busy enough to even have me do overtime work. Because there was no one to take over the brand handled by the designer who resigned, that project was pushed over on my arms and I had no way to object. I had to either accept or also resign, which for me was not an option. And like that was not already enough, because the company needed fresh blood, they accepted students in apprenticeship and the girl was also assigned to me to be tutored. I got so stressed that I started to go crazy, couldn't sleep and eat because of too much stress at work.
But somehow I managed to keep myself composed and at the end of the project, when I was to go into the meeting and present my work, I was ready with all my work done, including the work abandoned by the resigned designer. But surprise, when the chinese team complimented the person who did the project, my boss took all the credits, leaving me only some crumbs, saying I was only collaborating in market research and layout presentation, and not on drawing and projecting everything by myself. I had a mental break-down and I burst into a nervous crisis. It took me weeks to gather myself back.
Now related to the drama, in the preview I've seen Sheng Yang exploding and that brought back my own memories to resurface. 😅
Sorry for blabbering, I felt the need to share this with someone. 😂

Xiao Zhan's english is not perfect but his accent is exquisite for my ears.
I'm gonna engrave Sheng Yang's quote somewhere, for the posterity: "Happy wife, happy life." LOL so true! 😂

I was a bit reluctant to watch this because I wanted to watch some other period dramas first. But then I couldn't resist because a friend sent me a message to tell me that Sheng Yang's life resembles mine to perfection, in the job department and in general. I mean, how could I resist that?
So I dived in, and damn my friend was so right ahah!
In short: I'm the same age as Xiao Zhan and I have the same (more or less) job as Sheng Yang. When I first got hired, I also was a bit bullied by my boss and colleagues and I had to work my a** off to be able to maintain a bit of stability, and tbh even if now I'm a senior designer, from time to time I'm still getting bullied. It's funny that the enterprise I'm working for, have deals with China and every couple weeks I have a direct meeting with their boss via videochat where I present the workflow, materials, etc. So this drama is indeed like a slice of my own life.
When Shen Yang asked the girl if she knew how to use AI, InDesign, PS, etc, i could soooo relate because some of my office mates doesn't know to use many apps and I'm always burdened with extra work because of that.
Overall, this drama has a nice pace, great acting, and I love the choice of music background, very fitting in all the scenes.
I am fed up with MDL and its trolls, this drama would deserve a much higher rating, but well, we all know how Xiao Zhan's dramas are brutalized on this site. But still, such a pity.
Anyway, I can't wait for the next episodes. I highly recommend it.

Two days after I finished watching this series, I found myself coming back here and lurking into the comments... I'm telling you this drama is ranked #4 on Netflix in my country right now, and somehow I just went in and binged again a couple episodes for no reason, although I'm not really into thriller/horror stuff... This is how good this drama is. Mindblowing.
