Lmao, that’s the beauty of this show. I’ve never seen so many spies in my life😂
I’m screaming at this description because it’s low-key a 100% true🤡. It’s such a shame the show wasn’t more popular on MDL. I feel like “Who’s a spy” conversations would have been outrageous. 😂
This is just a rumor for now. Fans are waiting for an official announcement.
It’s not certain she will act in that drama either so Ran fans are waiting for the official announcement. However, I will say, if it’s possible, I would love to see them in another show together. They had such a good atmosphere behind the scenes. I think they would do well in a conspiracy costume drama.
I actually really like her look in this drama. I can see her beauty without heavy make up and filters. I uploaded…
Right? I love Pang Hongmei to death because she basically captures all sides of Ranzi without the messy filters and idol makeup. Who knew she’d be so handsome?😩 But I think this plainer life drama suits her more and I think there’s more and more “bare” face fans😂 Her bare face is really good. I love this trio. You’re spot on with how the chemistry works. I think Yangmei are like the perfect opposites attract couple while I think MeiSheng (I think this is the pairing) is really the perfect master student couple that so many shows fail to capture. I really hope they can do a drama together again. Let there be a love triangle too🙏
I went to rewatch just to double check and I really can’t believe anyone can say Xiao Ran looks awful in this… I love Pang Hongmei’s looks so much. Handsome, cute, and pretty- she has it all and switches pretty flawlessly between the three. Plus Ji Dayang and the Captain look so clean and handsome… I can’t understand it😭
Special guest appearance. It’s more a cameo than a support role but yes, it’s starring Liu Shishi along with a bunch of other young actresses so it should be exciting.
I need another drama sis esp the one with Elvis Han lol such a beautiful couple lol
What do we have to do to get this show?😩I swear fans have already said they don’t care about plot. It’s just for the pure visuals now. I low-key wish they would do a costume drama together. I remember when Bending the Waist was still in rumors- I really thought they would be perfect.
It’s not an idol drama so they can’t pretty the cast up. The brows are on purpose, to make her look fiercer.…
Maybe we’ll just have to agree to disagree. The brows suit the character. There are some scenes when she has more normal brows and she looks like a kid. Plus, the makeup artist posted pics of her makeup and there’s Reuters and it looks good. Other than the first episode which is PHM doing her own makeup, it’s the first time in a long time most passerby have said she looks okay. And considering they’re usually the first to trash her, I trust their opinion.😂
Enjoyable drama so far. I’m just really mad at the HMU team for making the actors, especially the beautiful…
It’s not an idol drama so they can’t pretty the cast up. The brows are on purpose, to make her look fiercer. Without them, she looks too young. She actually looks alright for most of the show after the first 2 episodes or so. Especially, towards the end, she has some really pretty looks. There’s some links to the original makeup video. She’s ridiculously good looking in it.
Bai Ming Han is a complex character, my favorite in this series. Pang Hong Mei comes after him.I feel bad for…
It was originally 40 but it got cut down to 38😭. I’m actually gonna see if the tag can’t be changed to a tag that fits their dynamic better. I think everyone thought it was going to have a good deal of romance due to the pairing but at the last minute, they announced there was no explicit romance plot line. The tag system is a bit complicated though so maybe that’s why tags haven’t changed.
I don’t understand why they didn’t thread these scenes throughout the show. There’s nothing wrong with developing…
They wrote it like this but it wasn’t the right choice because it throws off the rhythm of the story. Almost all the complaints are about this section of the drama regardless of country suggesting it is a problem. Most people think BH ends up how she ends up anyway. What would have been a more interesting and novel angle, would have been to have the hints but then show her struggle throughout the story until it reaches the climax. Then the rhythm isn’t broken and the audience which expects what happens is more interested in seeing what happens next.
I don’t understand why they didn’t thread these scenes throughout the show. There’s nothing wrong with developing…
It’s because they are different channels. The calculations work differently. And it’s not so much the director but the script. The script introduces BH’s transformation too late and therefore has to break the rhythm of the story to cover it. If it had occurred earlier and been threaded through the overall plot, it would have been received better by viewers.
I'm still on episode 28. Watching Bai Hui scenes feels like a chore now. Why does she have so much screen time??
I don’t understand why they didn’t thread these scenes throughout the show. There’s nothing wrong with developing her but for such a fast paced show, it broke the rhythm with how they did it. Luckily everything pulls together in the end otherwise the ratings wouldn’t be so high. I heard it came in top for this year’s CCTV 8 drama.
This is a romance that even without kissing or hugging, there are certain gestures and words that they say and…
There’s no saccharine in this show at all. The romance is very delicate though. It starts with two people at odds with each other who eventually grow together in a really natural way. It’s very subtle but I thought it was really well done because it’s very inline with the plot, the times, and the character’s personalities but it requires the ability to see details when watching a drama. There won’t be anything overt but it will all be in how the characters look at each other, react to each other, the lens language, and what they say and don’t say. This is honestly one of my favourite couples and I say this going against other hardcore romances. Edit: I looked at your criteria and I don’t think this will quite be a show you’ll enjoy. The chemistry is deep but it’s not intense. And while female lead is capable, and he backstory is tragic, she’s not very dark or brooding. She’s really upright, perhaps a bit rigid, and sometimes cute. The ML is also non-standard. He’s usually the one getting saved.
I’m also excited for Zheng Yecheng. I’m hoping he and Xiao Ran have some rival scenes because they’re both…
She’s really cool in this one and no nonsense. There’s not too much romance but I really like watching her play a character mostly focus on her career.
