I wish this actor was more popular. He is so handsome and his scenes with Jiu Li(the sister)are really highlights.
PXR rebounded a little bit over the last year but I don’t think Jin Han has recovered. He still gets insulted every time a new show of his comes out, which is sad. The other two actors seemed to have recovered a bit too- most likely because they’ve been in other dramas with decent styling. Here’s Du Ya Fe’s Weibo tho: https://m.weibo.cn/u/6370116457?luicode=10000011&lfid=100103type%3D1%26q%3D%E5%90%9B%E4%B9%9D%E9%BE%84
I was so angry when I finished this show not because of the ending but because of how many people still "shipped"…
I think it’s the acting. Acting on the level of this show is so rare nowadays from younger Cdrama actors. I remember when I watched it for the first time… Xiao Feng really seemed to have stars in her eyes when she looked up at Gu Xiao Wu when they kissed for the first time. This kind of skill level added to Li Mu Ge’s talent for world building, you get a couple that feels very real. And I think the strength of that sweetness during the early stages makes it hard to face the reality of the latter stages for some viewers. Especially, with the way that the story tries to absolve Li Chengyin of his actions through the plotline of “hurting Xiao Feng to protect her”. It makes all the abuse seem like it can’t be helped and if those blockades didn’t exist, then they would live happily ever after. I noticed a lot of viewers who feel it’s very romantic tend to mostly focus on the first third and the little sweet tidbits in the latter third. In reality, it’s a very brilliant tragedy supported by a solid relationship (I don’t really want to call it a romance) line.

I don’t get it because right now everybody is complaining about few handsome guys in Cdrama but here’s this good looking guy going to waste😭I keep an eye on his profile every so often hoping to see something but haven’t seen anything. It might be because he’s very young. I think he’s under 25 and a lot of actors under 25 struggle for bigger roles if they don’t have a lot of backing. And this show hurt pretty much everyone who was involved careers. I remember his acting and looks getting criticised but I thought that was mostly the director’s fault. The scene when he loses it in the bridal chambers shows he has skills and his other bigger role was well received.
I'm glad i didn't take heed of the negative comments. Despite its flaws, I like this drama a lot better than The…
I remember the first trailer shocking everyone lol. The chemistry really speaks to the acting skills of the two. The eye skills were top notch and the way they play off each other in some scenes (“The take off your socks”, “Woodshed” and “Jail” scenes especially ) is amazing.
It’s so maddeningly lol. Womanhood is such a spectrum and is beautiful because of this but I just keep seeing scolding. It’s like if a woman has a sunny disposition, she gets scolded. If she has an opinion, she gets scolded. If she falls in love, scolded. If she makes the dude wait a bit, scolded… can a girl live😭
Oh, really? Aw. I think that they would make an interesting and fun pairing, but I can definitely understand his…
Can’t say I can blame any actor/actress wanting to walk away from this show. Since the initial hot searches some other names have started floating up so I’m still holding out that the show is just using Xiao Ran for clout.
Agreed. What I didn't like was, he found out it was Wen Wan after interrogating the maid who flogged the FL, yet…
Lol, why is no one complaining about how Ling stays until the end? It’s all about Wen Wan😂 Wen Wan is bad but she’s not bad enough, it has to be remembered that NYX spent 4 years dealing with the antics of the “most poisonous woman in the capital”. His tolerance level is going to be high, especially if Wen Wan isn’t hurting other staff or outsiders. Plus, he talks to Wen Wan before he leaves and warns her so it’s not as if he did nothing. And at the time of the incident, he was still under the impression Ji Man was Nie Sangyu, who had done a lot of terrible things to others, including bullying Wen Wan. He later on explains his reluctance to deal with her out of respect for his relationship with Wen Wan’s father. Ji man doesn’t forgive him for the flogging. She wants a divorce and it’s part of the reason she stays prickly with NYX. In the beginning it’s only when she sees some financial benefits that she decides to stay. Most of the blame Ji Man gets is more due to Nie Sangyu’s past actions, not Wen Wan despite her machinations. And if Nie Sangyu didn’t already have a notorious reputation, things wouldn’t have stuck. It’s to separate the characters and make the audience understand that Nie Sangyu wasn’t good and shouldn’t be sympathised with.
I rewatch all comedy and sad scenes , I prefer the sad scenes that contains much of feeling .
I tried it because it was highly recommended but I just didn’t like it. It takes a lot for me to get into TV shows in general nowadays so while I’ll check out shows I don’t end up watching many.

That bit was so bitter. I really can’t get over this couple. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a well developed, rational couple who respect each others careers like this before in Cdrama.
I just want a trailer😭I saw a fan video someone cut with Reuters and the eye skills and good looks nearly killed…
It just seems a waste not to advertise. This show has 0 publicity but yet keeps making the charts. Imagine how popular it could be if it had a trailer or photos.
It will probably be changed for the drama but the book has a pretty toxic male lead and the relationship with…
Actually GBMP wasn’t as popular as it could have been when it aired because of it being a tragedy. It’s gained popularity over time because of the acting, production value, and looks. Xiao Feng is basically a classic character and there’s a joke about if the male lead wasn’t good-looking, then Li Chengyin would be scolded to death. Plus, Li Chengyin is a saint compared to this guy from the details I’ve heard about this story…and while the relationship is toxic in GBMP, it’s also apparently not as bad as this book, which is wild. The heroine also doesn’t seem to be the type of heroine audiences want to see either. There seems to be less appetite in female audiences for stories of the female lead being a punching bag. And from what I gather, she is also a love brains and love brain get scolded a lot now. I usually try to read/buy the books of the show PXR stars in but this is not a book I dare buy and this is coming from someone who owns several editions of GBMP and loves Dreamer in the Spring Budoir, which also had a toxic male in the beginning. They will definitely have to beautify the male lead. Li Chengyin was also beautified in the drama version. He’s not the same as book Li Chengyin.

The trailer has some changes and reservations can now be made!!

Right? I feel like I’ve done more explaining of this show than my actual coursework.

He seems busy. They both are, which I guess is the reason for the lack of aftersales.

A Korean broadcaster has bought the rights to air it in Korea!
