Very good actress, shame though that some of the pieces she is in are downright badly written. 😔
Looking at her resource levels, her character choices aren’t bad though. They’re all independent heroines, even Xiao Feng. Most of the problems she has are with (post) production. SJFY got edited to death so it’s a different storyline than what was originally written. GBMP and ToDoI are perfectly fine script wise. ToDoI even earned her a nomination. RoaTF as a script is fine too tbh with the exception of one or two scenes but it’s not to everyone’s tastes. The lowest level would be Jun Jiu Ling but it also has a solid storyline and I suspect they changed the script from the one she was originally given.
Yooooooo,The TV version really does hit differently. I think they changed the filter or something for the TV edit.…
It really is different. You can see more expressions is the big one and Xiao Ran looks less plain. Because the show came out with a TV license, I wondered if that is what is shot for and so it doesn’t look the same on other devices. I noticed my iPad was different from my phone. I’m not sure a link will work but I typed in the TV channels name in Chinese and chose the link that ended in live. You have to watch it in real-time though which is 730 Beijing Time.
Congrats to RoaTF for making it to the star!!!Fingers crossed the second broadcast’s ratings are also good🎊🎊🎊

I’ve always wondered if one of the reasons why Xiao Feng is so memorable is because her story is so heartbreaking.…
If I had been around, I’d probably be in the comments arguing too. It’s wild that so many people won’t acknowledge that this is an abusive relationship or that the true tragedy of GMP is that Xiao Feng is abused to the point that it pushes her to death. This show really can’t be called anything but a tragedy. There’s been a renaissance on Weibo trying to whitewash LCY lately and I can’t stand it. LCY may be a more three dimensional male character than Cdrama is used to/ more compelling but that doesn’t mean he’s good. He can be complex and compelling without trying to make him or the relationship with Xiao Feng good. He was originally an antagonist and even though GMP weirdly tried to switch the story to a hero-centred one, it can’t lose this essence.

I guess it’s a mileage may vary situation. Or maybe it’s because I’ve seen all the tidbits so have a full view but I thought they made a great couple- my fave of 2023 and one of my Top 3 for all time.
Sadly I had to drop it. The ML is a great actor but the story went downhill after the middle episodes. The romance…
Tbf to the leads, production seems to have deliberately cut the shots with a lot of tension. Most of the early hype for this show built from the first tidbits which were full of chemistry but none of those tidbits made it to the final cut, which I think has to do with how the showrunners wanted the relationship expressed. First, this show seemed to be going for a juvenile relationship focusing on the innocence and immaturity of one. Second, the book has a lot of sensational elements but its core is really the story of two people learning to build a relationship together. The drama keeps this with its theme of “relationships take work” even though there is a fate element. And rather than focus on the easier to portray tension/physical attraction aspect, the show focused on the harder to depict emotional growth/deeper emotional maturity in the development of the relationship.
You can hear Xiao Ran’s screams over everyone else😂 Check out the leaked trailer for The Legend. No shots of Xiao Ran in costume but she does look beautiful on the big screen. Hoping for international release 🥹 https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4911458486061307
The lewk from the back though😩. She’s been doing secret training for two months and I really gotta know what…
Yes, there’s definitely a rebrand. I thought she was going pure Yujie but she did some sweet girl shots for Marc Jacobs recently too. Totally different styles but I could feel the sense of temperament in both like I couldn’t before. She’s got brand activities or a magazine shoot in the 2nd half of June and I hope she slays. I hope she stays with this makeup artist though. They also do Song Yi and Xu Kai and I think this the best makeup she’s had so far.
Sis looks like she could take your life and you would thank her for it:https://twitter.com/dramapotatoe/status/1667101355432108033

Just have to wait for the official announcement I guess. A lot of dramas test out public reaction by name dropping for a few months before definitely announcing the cast. I just saw a rumor with it casting another actress a few days ago and this actress usually ends up being the star in the end when it comes to PXR casting rumors for some strange reason.
It’s apparently back up for reservations and already hit the 10,000 mark. This show has been re-edited and under review twice which is possibly why it took so long. I just hope it’s the quality of the version that won best director a few years ago.
Just finished this drama. It started good/ok then went meh.., boring for me. I still had to push through to finish…
Female villains are generally more interesting than female leads because they’ve got the flavour of forbidden fruit. Romantically though , Nie Sangyu would have not have worked. RoaTF is based off a soul transmigration story and not twins like in the drama. Nie Sangyu’s ending follows the book in which she dies as well but not until after her character causes a bunch of trouble for Ji Man, even endangering her safety. PXR’s portrayal makes her more likeable but in the book, Nie Sangyu’s inability to mature makes it impossible for her to form a relationship with Ning Yuxuan, who at the start of the book is also quite terrible. Wen Wan in the drama is actually quite close to how Nie Sangyu behaves when she appears in the book. Tao Siwei wasn’t forced. The drama continuously hints that there’s something not quite right about him. Maybe because it’s played as a comedy, it’s a bit confusing but he really only has eyes for Nie Sangyu to the point of obsession- which in this drama is a deadly sin. He actually doesn’t propose to Qingyun because he wants to but because Ji Man, who he thinks is Nie Sangyu, says he should. And once he does propose, it’s very clear he’s reluctant. His betrayal is actually an interesting reversal of the forever loyal 2nd ML trope because he’s so loyal to Nie Sangyu, he won’t think twice about betraying/killing Ji Man because he feels aggrieved fin behalf of Nie Sangyu.
this was one of the best cdrama endings I've ever watched!! I'm so glad that they included a mini wedding scene!
I really liked the ending too! The message was so beautiful and the wedding so sweet! You should check out the BTS. Peng Xiao Ran and Ding Yuxi spun so much, they both fell over😂

I don’t know what this secret skills training is but lately PXR’s temperament has been top rate😩
