There’s no concept of character setting or understanding different characters will have different looks/feelings according to theme, Director, or production. Also I got to say the comments about her choosing a “quality drama” are also maddening. GMP is the level it is because it was meant for Fan BingBing who was a top level star at the time and wealthy. She gave GMP to Xiao Ran as a birthday gift supposedly. With FBB hit with scandal, PXR had no backer at 26/27 in an industry where 30 is when actress’s career is thought to be over if she isn’t popular by then. She didn’t and doesn’t have the powerful backing to make demands like actresses with backgrounds or money do. She had to start from scratch and basically worked her way up from the bottom, even joining a variety show where she was criticised and judged harshly to get where she is today.
