I hope they wonāt postpone it. Apparently it hit the 200,000 reservations mark a few days ago so we got the MV today. I canāt remember if there were stretch goals past that though. If so, they may be trying to get a target number of reservations to bring in more ad money.
I think I finally get Director Xie Zeās vision for the makeup and costuming of this show. First, the simple style actually is true to the book. Second though her styling is simple, does PXR actually look bad? No, itās still clear that sheās beautiful and with the simpler look, you can focus on the acting which is supposed to be one of the major draws of the show. Thinking of JJL, while it was criticised for its makeup, it was the show where public opinion began to acknowledge her acting more than her looks. Good actors shouldnāt need the bells and whistles of makeup and costume to set the characters up. The acting should do most of the heavy lifting.
Completely hooked after seeing the MV! Donāt forget to leave a like or comment on YouTube if you can. Tencent gives more marketing/attention to shows it thinks will do well.
Ryan Ding really has something about him. So many younger actors rely on the female leads to create the chemistry but here in these seconds long clips, you can tell Ning Yuxuan loves Jiman with just one look.
Their love story is so haunting. I think she really loved his true self that we see more with GXW. It creeps in,…
Yeah, itās pretty grim⦠which is probably why so many fans say the Wangchuan couple is a dead solution. Iāve also heard fans say that Xiao Feng would end up like Ruyi in Ruyiās Royal Pavilion or like Ning Yiās mother in Rise of the Phoenixes. Iād like to think they could be happier but I donāt think that can happen unless Gu Xiao Wuās betrayal doesnāt happen. I think Xiao Feng could forgive everything else but she couldnāt forgive being the one who let the wolf into the house (despite Gu Jian being the one to set her upā¦) Which is why I dislike drama Gu Jian so much. Xiao Feng really trusted him and he let her down every single time. Every time I watch the bridge scene when she meets Li Chengyin for the second time and I see her look back at Gu Jian with that apprehensive look, I want to jump through the screen! How dare he smile and encourage her on!?š
Tidbit drop! Ryan Dingās indulgent look and Xiao Ranās super sweet smile - the Jinyumantang pairing is really sweet enough for cavitiesš„¹š„¹š„¹ https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4880944018754886

Most fans theorise heād have Xiao Feng drink Wangchuan water everyday and that he would still kill the people close to her like Aādu and Gu Jian because they would be a threat to keeping the secret. Iāve also read that he would probably try to have children with Xiao Feng asap so she would feel that she has to live for them.
Iāve always wondered if one of the reasons why Xiao Feng is so memorable is because her story is so heartbreaking.…
Heās pretty bad, so bad that I canāt understand how anyone can justify his treatment of Xiao Feng or want her to be with him with all the abuse . The drama kinda glosses over one of the worse scenes. Itās the scene after the argument by the swing. It was cut short in the drama leading to ambiguity but his assault of Xiao Feng in this scene is the main reason why heās unforgivable to me even though he is a complex character. Thereās no pressure or political reason for his actions in that scene but he still abuses her in the worse way and the description of the book is even more brutal. When I watched that scene, I felt like the drama was telling viewers that Li Chengyin had reached the point of no return so it has always confused me when others try to justify his actions, say heās pitiful too, or his love is humble. In my opinion, itās none of the above but that two extremes of brutality and infatuation create a complex character akin to Wuthering Heightās Heathcliff. Iāve always felt that the criticism of drama LCYās later character development comes from the way the drama tried to make Gu Xiao Wu and Li Chengyin a before and after effect when Gu Xiao Wu is really more of an alter ego/fantasy of Li Chengyin. Heās a monster of his environmentās creating but thereās a part of him who wants to be āhumanā.
Why i am feeling like itās not her original voice.
Itās not. Itās a dub. I think the Womenās Day tidbit might have been her original voice though. It sounded close. Iām low-key hoping that Nie Sangyu is done by her.

The book is really gut wrenching. Itās from Xiao Fengās point of view but starts from when sheās married. The book Li Chengyin is basically a monster, thereās very little to redeem him but then I think the book doesnāt try to whitewash his character like the drama. I think the beauty of the book comes from the side stories. Theyāre really poignant and explain the complexity of the characters in a delicate way.
The acting, chemistry, and interplay looks off the charts!!!
