Hi! Could you tell me what the movie is called? Also, do you know how long they will be filming?😊
I’m not really sure why it’s such a secret but she tends to be secretive with filming lately. Maybe it’s because she’s had some hyped opportunities break down. It could also be because the movie hasn’t booted yet and she’s training for the role. For ToDoI some fans found out she joined the crew when her costar posted a pic of her at his birthday party.šŸ˜‚
From what I can gather, it’s a movie and not a drama which is interesting because movies are very difficult to break into (even small roles) and PXR’s circumstances according to marketing accounts don’t really suggest she should be able to get into the circle. There’s also not been a single rumor about this which is also interesting because most young performers would blow this opportunity up to seem more popular .

No one knows😩 Her fans are all trying to guess but it’s a complete secret. I have my suspicions but I’ll wait until there is an official announcement.

I think rather than looking for a trailer, it might be better to watch out for the two’s Weibo posts. SJFY warmed up with some photoshoots. DitSB might do the same.

Also, I don’t know if others know but when the official announcement was made, this show did a hot search (which is a form of marketing). I think it was a hot search about the pairing’s chemistry if I remember right. At the time it got a lukewarm reception. That might have disincentivised heavy marketing too.
On Romance of a Twin Flower Feb 5, 2023
I think if there’s marketing for this drama, it’ll probably air near the airing date like Jun Jiu Ling or Shining Just For You. If you look at it from the view of the producers, it’s more cost effective. It’s making the charts with just a few posters and no trailer so why spend extra money? Low expectations/lower presence also sets it up to be a dark horse.
Also, apparently this show has a license to be aired on TV which is interesting. Could also be the reason the show took so long to get the license. TV shows seem to have a higher threshold when it comes to the censorship review.

Title Romance of a Twin Flower Spoiler
Absolutely!! šŸ˜šŸ‘....That is if they don't censor and edit it to death. Haha.šŸ¤ŖšŸ˜“
I don’t think it’s a bad thing but the original author of thebook did say the drama’s script was completely unrecognisablešŸ˜….
It was probably to make the ML more palatable though because a lot people really dislike the character and the book because of his behaviour + the harem antics. Also , isekai is banned so the original dynamic of the FML making decisions with another’s body has to be changed, hence the twin plot line.
With China’s new unspoken no gray characters policy, I think Jiman isn’t going to be as calculating in the same way as the novel but she should hopefully be as smart. As for being Mary Sue-ish… there’s a strong possibility that Jiman doesn’t go through as much as she does in the book. PXR doesn’t seem to want to do stories where the FML suffers a lot and in the book, Ji man goes through a lot. I want to hope the depth of character might be made up for by PXR also playing Nie Sangyu but the director is the type who likes cartoonishly evil characters so I don’t know how compelling she’ll be.
The good news is the show has only lost 2 episodes of content. It gives me hope considering part of the major faults of Jun Jiu Ling and Shjning Just For You, was the deep episode cuts.

I’ve literally been waiting all morning for them to drop something and didn’t even see this. This drama team either has no money for marketing or they’re purposely trying to be a dark horse. I think it’s the latter, which may be a smart move. I’m not sure about Ryan Ding’s side but it’s been a circus any time PXR airs a costume drama and maybe by giving no expectations, this drama might avoid that and get a fairer evaluation.

Does Seven Auspicious already have license for broadcast? If not, I will put my trust in March airing. šŸ™ Don’t…
This is what IQIYI has been doing recently and it’s one of the reasons for its popularity and views level. I don’t really get why Youku and Tencent grind dramas if they’re ready. Especially in this environment when a drama being able to air is a success.
Basically netizen opinion is Tencent screwed up by going traffic actors only, investing too much in BL, and not investigating the obvious quality issues of S and S+ dramas looking no better than the A or B dramas of other platforms. Youku’s problems is that it’s too cheap, has ridiculous marketing, and doesn’t promote dramas. If it has a successful drama, it’s thought of as a fluke. IQIYI seems to the only major platform thought to air quality dramas consistently.

Any news?
Just saw a rumor about them contacting a potential male lead but there’s not been too much word on this show other than it might star PXR. I really wish this site would wait for the official announcement or booting ceremony to post these pages because it leads to a lot of confusion for fans who don’t follow Weibo or any of the other Chinese sites.

I saw it too. 🤩 not sure because everything i read in weibo is google translated, apparently, she is filming…
I read a post that her IP is still Beijing so I guess it’s a modern movie. I think that’s good. If she did a costume, it would only be compared to Xiaofeng. Modern, there is only Li Binghe so far and she’s a vintage style anyway.

Haha, it’s apparently her idol so everyone is trying to figure it out. Supposedly she really likes Huang Bo.
On Shining Just for You Jan 30, 2023
Honest to goodness, can the full version really not be aired now that show has broadcast? Tencent just dropped a drama that skirts the line of BL (BL is basically banned for the time being) and IQIYI had a scene with a mass execution that while blurred was not cut. Even if we can’t get the revenge line, I’m still not understanding how the after marriage chapter could be more volatile than the above examples.

I’m not sure because I don’t follow either of the artists involved. However, if it airs and explodes, it would more than likely bring this drama forward rather than buried. Both WHD and EY’s lower key dramas got brought to the forefront by platforms after Canglan Jue aired. WHD’s drama didn’t even have a license I think at the time, but the minute it got one, it aired. Youku, though it’s usually dumb as bricks, seemed to have some brains and follow this trend with the new Li Hong Yi drama after the success of his last drama.
But this show is just strange in marketing overall. No trailer but Tencent ran the interview with PXR during SJFY to obviously catch some heat which suggested they were looking to do something but who knows cause Tencent just shook the market up today. Apparently Tencent just dropped a BL lite drama. They have a ton of stock in BL dramas which is why they’ve been hurting for content recently. So, if this succeeds, all the BG dramas might hit the back burner again or reshuffle.

That photoshoot looked amazing. The video was was even better. Her fans lost their minds that day.šŸ˜‚
I hope so for PXR’s sake. Rumor has it that she has a new team and there’s definitely been some improvements in the last few months but I guess it remains to be seen. I know she’s recently started using a makeup artist that Angela Baby uses which is good because the makeup really suits her. After FBB, I think she was just trying out all sorts. šŸ˜‚ Now she just needs a photographer if she can afford one. She has a station sister who took amazing photo shots of her throughout JJL and SJFY. Tbh, this station sister is responsible for 80% of the good quality Reuters shots from both shows. If she can afford her, I’d definitely bring her onto the team.
On Romance of a Twin Flower Jan 29, 2023
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is put on the back burner. Rumor has it that this will be broadcast in March which might be likely because Tencent is hurting in the drama market this year but marketing wise, it makes more sense to pull it out after Love You Seven Times to catch the heat like Youku did for Little Forest after Canglan Jue aired. However, there are other rumors that say it’ll be used as cannon fodder to warm up for the summer vacation shows so a spring airing also makes sense.

I need this show. It’s been 3 years. 😭Don’t care if it’s good anymore. I just want it to be sweet. And if they don’t cut the kiss scenes, I’ll give this show an automatic 10.

Any recommendations similar to goodbye my princess, I completed it months ago and still can’t get the show out…
I think the show that got the closest to the sense of tragedy in GMP to me was Royal Nirvana but you’ve got to watch both seasons.
What GMP has that a lot of other dramas don’t have, is the world building. What Li Mu Ge gets right that many other directors don’t, is not just a sense of beauty and tragedy but most importantly a sense of realism through the use of real scenes, realistic quality clothing and setting, movie quality filters/great lighting , and mostly natural high quality acting. Because of this, a lot of viewers often comment that the characters in GMP feel real, and with a story as tragic as GMP, that leaves a deep impression.
I don’t know if a show like it will crop up again. Many new shows are often compared to it, but not many new Cdrama shows will be allowed to have such complex characters and relationships nowadays.

A really competent actress but my goodness she got the wrong plastic surgeon cos her eyes and lips look unnatural
It’s makeup + filters. For some strange reason, makeup artists don’t draw her makeup around the natural outlines of her features and that can make her look odd. For example, in GMP, they did her lip makeup so her mouth appeared smaller and thinner but it sometimes looks weird. Her most natural role is Tian Yu in Refinement of Faith, where makeup wise, she’s pretty much barefaced in it so you can see her actual features.
