Tencent has definitely started to ramp up the marketing (but they won’t give us a trailer 😩). Apparently they intend it to take over for Chongzi, so it should air soon after Chongzi finishes if the rumors are true.

Just submitted lol. I’m really not sure why this didn’t get released internationally considering it was the official drama of the Olympics and other tribute dramas have gotten subtitles/international releases.

Li Chengyin was the antagonist/villain in the book the drama is based on, and while the drama cleans him up a lot, it’s hard to lose that essence. It’s actually hard to feel sorry for book Li Chengyin unless you read the side stories. The side stories take the sense of tragedy to the next level.

The original author is actually really famous for writing gut wrenching stories. I think she’s nicknamed “The Stepmother “ because of it lol. The first arc gets a lot of complaints about being slow but I’ve always felt like the first arc is absolutely perfect. 10/10.
I agree that the second and third arc don’t do as well but I guess that’s because the original book is not a political drama, it’s a pure romantic tragedy from Xiao Feng’s perspective. The politics were added in the drama to give Li Chengyin more depth but even domestically, the politics plot line isn’t thought to be very strong by most passerby. The platform mostly ranks it as a romance or a tragedy.
Also in an answer to one of your early posts about the amnesia, the amnesia is actually supposed to be a plot twist. The drama is actually aired out of sequence from the book. The book starts in the drama’s second arc, then it’s the Xizhou arc, then it’s the final arc up until the jump from the tower.

So many good actors seem to be pushed to the side or given terrible productions right now. It’s made it really hard to find anything to watch lately.

It would be nice if it could be a dark horse. Peng Xiao Ran and Ding Yuxi are stars that deserve more popularity. They’re both hardworking and seem really good natured.

It’s also opened an official TikTok.

This show has made it to No. 2 on this week’s Expected List of Works to be Broadcast🎊🎊 I don’t think I’ve ever seen it so high up the list.
Also, I saw another Tencent drama without a proper trailer so this drama may not be such an oddball to not have one.

I’m really intrigued how close the relationship will follow the book. They got married kinda young hence some of the marital problems but their relationship progresses over several years and to two kids by the end, and the kids act as sort of markers of where the ML and FML’s relationship is at. The first child is a surprise/halfway hidden pregnancy but the second child is a much wanted one. That’s when most of the sugar happens. The ML is so doting by that time, it can give the reader cavities.😂

Second this. I couldn’t find it on the English app or YouTube but now their marketing is mentioning foreign audiences are looking forward to it.

I feel like they’re using starvation marketing on purpose… or they don’t have cash for a trailer😅. The tidbits could also be working their way up to a trailer like with SJFY. Or trying to convince the naysayers. I was a chemistry naysayer when the first poster was released but I’m on board now. The sweetness is really slapping me in the face lol.

Guess the marketing is low-key working. Starting to really ship this pair but seriously tho where is the trailer?😂😭

I really hope the show has this vibe. Altho I love the original book, the idea of a ML falling in love with and coaxing a feral FML sounds hilarious and amazing. 😂

I don’t know why Cdrama suddenly thinks acting skills don’t matter. It really boggles my mind that some fans sincerely think the screenwriter and director can carry the whole show, and that acting is the least important component. I can bear a bad plot but no matter how good the script is or how great the director is, I can’t bear poor acting and quit the show and the actors in a heartbeat.
Was that Xiao Ran? I thought that was Ryan!!!😂😂😂 The little sorry at the end was so cute though.🥹

Jiman seems like she’s just gonna spend the whole show absolutely feral😂. If so, I’m here for it. We rarely get this type of heroine in Cdrama.
I feel like the makeup makes a little more sense now. If Jiman is gonna be this wild, being dolled up wouldn’t fit the character.

Lol at the “ Mark of Love”😂The acting in the scene was really good. Cdrama really needs artists who can act cause it makes the world of difference 🥹. I also really hope they retain their original voices.

Seems like they’re going for a different from usual style of marketing -stretch goals. Looks like there’s a reward for every milestone hit. It’s kind of brilliant in a way because it cheaply creates hype, proves fanbase power, and improves the data if it’s successful.
