It might be a time thing. This costume designer also had issues in another show but the costumes got better quality over time. Some of the clothes I’ve seen for ZYC look a lot better up close. Because it’s a lot of white on white, it’s hard to see the details but his black and white outfit looks good.

Sometimes it can do okay if the plot is good but I don’t know in the current climate 😅 I heard the clothing actually looks much better up close so I’m hoping it’s a case of better on film. I’m just curious if the producers don’t check the quality of clothing, scripts, directors, etc beforehand? It seems so weird to let dramas get ruined by one person.

There’s been complaints about the costuming of the FL and ML. I thought maybe the costumes weren’t ready but I don’t know now. Tbh, I don’t understand this recent trend of giving the leads the lowest level of styling in the show. It makes people think it’s not a good show🙂↕️

I like this show (I rewatch it all the time 😅) but the more I see negative comments about the FL, the more I wished the drama had kept her characterisation and storyline closer to the original book. They really weakened her in the drama even though she’s still an astute businesswoman. It’s a heroine led novel. There’s no manic pixie dreamgirl who’s sole purpose is to bring light to a man’s world, but a smart woman who puts herself first and will do whatever it takes to survive and thrive-(with or without her husband😂). Book Jiman is so clever, self-reliant, and full of schemes and ways to make money that readers can really spend 500+ chapters not caring about the romance or other characters because she and the wild af plot are so interesting. So, it’s kinda sad to see her become the less “likeable” or relatable character in the drama.

In the current climate it’s hard to tell but shows are releasing much faster than they used to in the past. This show was edited while it was being filmed so it shouldn’t have too long of a production process. I’d probably say the end of this year if we’re lucky or early to mid next year.
