Guys, is there any another director with the same style as GJM?I need more drama with this kind of cinematography.…
GJM came from movies. There won’t be too many recent dramas with the same level of production. It’s better to look at other movie directors’ work. I’ve heard Wong Kar-wai mentioned when it comes to GJM, but I’m not sure if it is because GJM is influenced by WKW or has a similar style to WKW.
imo this drama /does/ lend more weight to the demons' perspectives and how they deal with the 'othering' treatment…
RY’s character doesn’t seem wicked enough to kill a dozen innocent women and even in the show, he’s extremely bothered/ashamed by it, enough to not be able to face Miss Qi even though he’s defensive to the team. The excuse that he was weak and needed malicious energy doesn’t hold up because he was quite injured when he met Miss Qi and yet didn’t attack her. It also seems weird that he would target girls in the same situation as Miss Qi. You would think he’d actually want the girls to escape like Miss Qi-especially if she’s his reference for human women. If his victims have to be brides and not the fathers who marry off their daughters, then it makes more sense for him to kidnap the brides. That has a more realistic feeling of no choice yet supports the sentimentality of RY. It still creates a panic about weddings but doesn’t turn him into a murderer. And it creates a greater sense of mystery as the group would be trying to figure what happened to the brides, and eventually where they’re being hidden.

RY’s choice of victim really doesn’t make sense tbh. Although his understanding of Miss Qi’s suffering apparently influenced his actions and there’s a cause and effect because what he visited on others was visited on him, it still feels like the wrong writing choice- almost like if they didn’t have him do something so extreme, his storyline would be too sympathetic.
It become repetitive. The writers probably didnot have any ideas to writes anymore. Each cases we will had male…
This is a whole lot of comment for a “crappy” show. Besides who goes to an idol drama for high art? It’s enough that it gets viewers thinking. Anyway, a show without any merits wouldn’t have this much interpretation.

Actually it’s been suggested that these cases are metaphors for the main couple. It may seem like repetition on the surface but they’re actually the different conflicts of identity and thought between the leads being acted out.
This is so interesting! Shen Nu and Cheng Huang are practically in the same position as WX and ZYZ. Fei brings…
I think it was a decision between individual story vs overall story. For the overall story the rumored original ending would have indeed been quite fitting. But I think the chosen ending fits the individual story better because it ties into Ranyi’s promise to see the world with her and his love confession which mentioned stars: "The blue sea is vast, there is no way to go, but I am in the world (Miss Qi); the stars are vast, holding this hand, we travel together in the world (Ran Yi)." He turns himself into a Galaxy for her as they float hand and hand into the unknown- it’s a very romantic last image. GJM was also probably thinking of the mental health of PXR fans😂 Xiao Feng still makes us sad. Don’t know if we could survive another sad ending like that 🙂↕️

Yeah, I guess the idea is will they succeed unlike the other couples? None of them are together. Apparently Ranyi was supposed to disappear and it’s just Miss Qi floating alone in the boat but it was cut.
Not here to start anything but can these people who like competing shows stop coming here to make trouble? Or at least clear your CW list so we can’t see the obvious machinations? Absolute kindergarten tricks🤡

1) Miss Qi×Ran Yi=the taboo of a human/demon relationship
2)Baize Goddess x Cheng Huang= lovers to strangers
3) Qing Geng x Fei = two opposite but balancing forces
