I love Bloody Romance, the story is great for me. But it really depends on what you like to watch.... FL never become a badass assassin, instead she used her intelligence to accomplish the assignments. The ending is very angsty... it is open-ended ending.

A pity that quite a lot of Republican Era dramas are not subbed.... Fearless Whispers, Dream Detectives, Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, etc... and I'm currently watching Mystery of Antiques 3, which I'm loving a lot ❤ ..... The platforms are mainly subbing the modern rom-coms and historicals which are more popular with intl viewers

Btw I also rate You Are My Glory 7.0 only, although I thoroughly enjoyed the drama ^^ But the story is really not the best, it is just very beautifully shot like a MV....

This is a rare case where I have fun watching but the drama is very flawed.... In terms of script, I think Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower, Burning Ice, etc are better.... Danger Zone is only outstanding in the cinematography and art direction

I wonder too.... Been wanting to watch this series when it first premiered, tried first 2 eps and had to pause at parts, use text scan at the Chinese subs to Baidu on the historical, antiques, etc difficult terms. I understand Chinese but my level is good for modern contemporary dramas. This drama is challenging as it doesn't properly introduce the characters, leave it up to viewers to figure out who is who and how they fit together... Watching this is like doing a jigsaw puzzle. Yet I really like the story, cinematography, characters and setting! Re-trying this again, just troublesome as gotta watch each ep twice -_-"

Ahhh.... I have the same thoughts, but you are harsher than me with the rating. I blame the issue on editing. Whoever made the final decisions on the editing, made some really bad decisions.... According to the actors, they spent 4 months to shoot the drama (I've seen 40 eps dramas done in 3 months) and there are A LOT of scenes which got cut.... They are sad too. Hopefully the production company and Youku can review this and release a director's edition or special, with the missing scenes

Welcome! Did you watch Bureau of Transformer? BoT also started out very, very cringe but by ep 4 or 5 we start to see there is more to the drama, that it has depth. Awww ***hugs*** I tried requesting pfp change for 2 other actors, neither was successful 😓. I think they don't want random and frequent pfp changes so set such stringent guidelines...

It is not just about the violence, poor depiction of police won't pass censorship too (the way police and prison guards are portrayed in Danger Zone would not be approved). I watched Stealth Walker and director divulged several scenes had to be rewritten becos it didn't pass censorship-- FL was originally intended to create a handmade bomb, which that had to be rewritten into a weaker scene.... Writer has to be conscious of the P&C in china regulations which really impede in the scriptwriting

Hi, it did indicate rating as 18 yo and above, and the tags at MDL has highlighted on the gore factor. It is unfair to write such a review or even rate this when you are against gore in dramas.... This is like watching a rom-com and complaining it is too fluffy; like jumping into a pool and complaining it is too deep when there is a sign next to pool (on the depth). Your inability to accept the drama does not mean others who complete it are sick 😤

😅 unless SARFT (China's film censorship board) has a complete overhaul, such a story won't pass censorship.... Even kdrama would have issues with a few scenes in this...

And that is what made this drama good. I'm at ep 7 and initially I tot the script is really good, but honestly, some of the scenes and sequences used here we have seen in other murder investigations. Acting-wise, I've seen better. But this is a very addictive and fascinating watch becos of the fast pace and props. I have seen similar scenes but not in such full view, if this was c or kdrama, it would have attempted to hide some of the scenes, like inform viewers in dialogues or blur out the sharp objects and that baby (kdrama)....
