Yes, the cinematography of the ballet dances are amazing in the drama!! The editing work is really commendable!! Very seamless editing. What Song Kang has achieved in a short 6 months of training is inspiring.

Hi!!! You have put in a lot of efforts in the article, love the background details that you have provided. My tongue-in-cheek comments might have rattled you a bit.... I am also in no position to criticize the editors. I could have focused on the positives in your article, but that critique comment is to point out a worrying issue. If a contributor made an error and MDL editors also did not catch it, and if readers did not know and fail to point out the error too..... Wouldn't we be spreading wrong information? Mmm.

Commenting to add a different perspective. SYJ has been professional at her work, as for the "bullying", what I read is a woman who seems overly possessive in love, her rumoured over-controlling behaviour may need some help. KJH could have refused her demands and walked away, but he didn't. IMO, there's no report of physical violence in the relationship, nor is any party blackmailing the other. It is just a very unhealthy relationship, and both could have walked away from the other but for whatever reasons, didn't at the time. Maybe both SYJ and KJH need some counseling or therapy.... But this certainly does not affect how I see SYJ as an actress. I actually dropped IOTNBO last year becos I didn't like the art direction. But the scandal has renewed my interest.... it is fascinating to watch SYJ's Mun Yeong-- a flawed person acting a similarly flawed character on-screen

Other then the poor wigs and props that look too fake, and bad CGI, this drama has a lot positives which you would not see becos you dropped it at ep 3 (the fight choreography is good for me). I think it is quite unfair to write a review for a drama when you have seen only 3 eps? It is like reading 3 chapters of a novel and reviewing it. Everyone has different tastes and preferences, but please do not write reviews when you have not even seen 1/4 of the drama.

One more Wuxia historical cdrama to add to the list of cdramas that started splendidly but finished in an ocean…
I like your description!! NiF meets AD XD I was thinking of AD too, but haven't thought of the NiF reference. Oooo there's a Novoland twist? I saw all the Novoland dramas and that TV movie \o/ I'm only at ep 3, so let's see how it goes

Oh, 1 more actor that is in the movie that MDL failed to list-- Chris Wu. I almost didn't recognize him at first! He played a character that is so unlike the lawyer persona that I usually see him in! It was very refreshing to see Chris play such a character here ;)

Miao Miao is played by Alice Ke? Fabulous actress, would be an interesting watch for sure. Thanks for the lovely…
\o/ I watched this mainly for Alice Ke and Sandrine Pinna! It is interesting to see Alice Ke as a high school student that is shot 10 yrs before Someday or One Day, and a music shop is the centre of this movie too! But Sandrine's acting is more outstanding here ^^ amazing to see the Yang Guifei in Legend of the Demon Cat play a simple, boyish high schooler here. But movie quality is poor.... This is released in 2008, before there was HD. If you do not mind the poor resolution, movie is available at DramaCool.

The low rating made me think this movie might be too artistic and slow moving. But hey, this is one of the BEST coming-of-age, first love movie that I've seen! Not sure why other viewers rated it so low.... I think if you watch this, expecting a great love story, then you will be disappointed. This movie is a realistic story on first loves, and the normal teen would have a simple love story, uncomplicated and likely won't have a together forever... I enjoyed this movie for the natural acting and art direction. In a short 83 mins, director convincingly portrayed that first attractions, first love feelings. This movie is so simple, the characters felt like friends that we might have irl.

Hi! I haven't watched The Victim's Game before, but after reading the synopsis of TVG, I would presume that that…
Thank you for your reply! I'm happy you have watched The Victims' Game and like it too! You have made great insights in your comments, did you submit a review for TVG too? Would love to read your review. I have suspected The Silent Forest is a more difficult watch than TVG, as it is based on a true story and Taiwanese productions usually don't sugar-coat brutal realities in such adaptations. I still haven't watch this yet, but will definitely be watching, when I feel more brave, lol. I'm wondering why I included that part about 'the evil in people' in my earlier comment.... TVG is more about desperations, how despairs can drive the human minds to such desperations... That scene of the ex-convict eating the noodles cooked by his wife, and asking her for a second round so he can hung himself in the storeroom is a haunting example of how depression and suicidal thoughts can fail to see the love that still exists. Well... I do not know if I might have posted that comment late in the night, I had also watched TVG and The World Between Us back-to-back.... The evil in people is an appropriate description for The World Between Us. Haha, pls ignore the 'evil' comment, I guess my mind was momentarily confused.

Duboku.tv but you need to understand some Chinese to navigate the site. Oh wait, I find the link.... https://u.zdubo.com/vodplay/1833-1-31.html
It uses similar video player as DramaCool. When video is playing, tap at the screen and you can see the wheel icon at bottom right. Tap that and you get speed options.

You finished this and even gave 10? Now I'm curious to start it.. ^^ as usual, wonderful and very insightful review..…
\o/ I hope you will like it!! Rattan might not be everyone's cup of tea (as the other 2 reviewers who rated 4 and 6 pts showed) but the 2nd half is really good. Especially the last 5, 6 eps-- there are comedy, romance, suspense and even horror ^^"

I believe Qin Fang realized who Dan Zhigang was, he would have in that 5 years. What I am more curious was... Did Dan Zhigang know who Qin Fang was and that is why he had positioned himself close to Qin Fang? Why Dan Zhigang chose to stay with Qin Fang was not revealed... Did he stay with Qin Fang out of guilt, or was that already planned in advance? I mean, did Dan Zhigang know the truth of QF and so was on guard by QF's side?

Thank you for this very nice summary on Navillera!! It is a great drama, a very good slice-of-life story that touches hearts and rejuvenates the souls. I did choke a bit when you mention Song Kang did not use a body double, as a contributor I can understand making this error, though I have to ask what are the MDL editors doing ^^" lol! Ballet is the most difficult dance form, the strictness in discipline this requires, a lot of respect to Song Kang and Park In-Hwan for putting in the time and efforts in learning the dance for the drama. And I was tickled when I read Park In-Hwan was initially embarrassed to put on the tights for the role! Can't imagine my grandfather doing that ^^"

I haven’t read the manga but they explain this by saying she studied under different masters and and her uncle.…
-_-" China screenwriters are either really brilliant, or mediocre writing to please some studio heads' requirements. It is sad when you have seen some really good scriptwriting in other historical dramas, then you see this and Rebel Princess (that one is another script tragedy). For the 4 main leads so far, I'm actually most satisfied with Zhao Lusi. Haven't seen her in such a weak role, but she surprisingly fits the image and her acting is perfect for the role. Dilraba and Leo Wu both felt to be miscast, but you can see they try their best to act their characters, and doing quite well too.

Don't exaggerate because I see both actresses fan are doing a great job so far, I did not see fanwars here although…
Yessss! The older historical dramas had such good scripts! The plotting, scheming, fighting of wits were so good!! In recent times, the better ones are Nirvana in Fire, Secret of Three Kingdoms, The Longest Day in Chang'an..... Sadly, The Long Ballad chose the hasty writing path.
