Nam Joo Hyuk would have killed this show. In a bad way
I hate him. I do agree on your comment about boys-next-door roles though. He just can't do melodramatic dramas for me. He needs to practice by getting more support roles
A lot of TVN dramas are like different forms of beautiful music to my ears. Different genres, same good emotionally-captivating shows. Aside from that Bride of fucking Habeak disaster, other TVN dramas are solid as well. Will definitely be watching a lot more TVN dramas in the near future
remember how y'all were judgin tvN for the age difference? Who would've thought that it be one of the best kdramas…
Happened with Goblin too and look how that turned out. I hope dramas like these 2 will serve as reminder to people that prejudice and pre-conceptions are not needed in looking for a drama
The only problem with Jang Hyuk being the second lead is that kdramas have a track record of making them a sad…
The only problem with Jang Hyuk being the 2nd lead is that people like you view it as a negative thing. Why don't we see out the drama first before jumping to conclusions?
I find it amazing how someone can write a review when only 2 episodes have aired. I mean what the actual fuck? It's like saying you loved a certain buffet because you've tried two pieces of shrimp
As much as I want to love this drama, something feels "off" with the directing? I think the writing is great,…
I hear you, but for me it's not off. Maybe my judgement is clouded because I came to start watching this without actually having expectations at all. I kinda feel some Waikiki vibes from this show though
He's been nailing his role as well, definitely no complaints from me. Absolutely loving the main cast so far.
Exactly! I find his character really interesting, more than the lead character in fact. That's why i'm fine with him being the 2nd lead. There are a lot of dimwits here who keep saying otherwise though
Why is everyone complaining that Jang Hyuk isn't the main lead? Yes he's a seasoned actor who deserves all the lead roles he can get, but do you think he's a child who got tricked into becoming 2nd lead? He's a grown man who probably read the script, liked it, and accepted his role. You guys are overracting af
It seems promising, but after reading the description, it sounds like it'll just be a more serious and medical-related version of Suspicious Partner. Can anyone vouch for this?
After watching episodes 13 and 14, all I'm worrying about right now is what if they fuck up the ending? The only other time I was left in such awe of any t.v. series at all is Breaking Bad (It's an American tv series for those who are not familiar with it) and Goblin.
Goblin was phenomenal at gripping my heart with a dynamic, changing intensity through 15 episodes that when I finally finished episode 16, it felt really bland and lacking. It just didn't satisfy something in me because while it was a decent ending, it didn't reflect the overall excellence of the show.
This is a melodrama so I doubt such drastic things will happen, but knock-on-wood please don't fuck up the ending
While You Were Sleeping became a hit because of the storyline and basically everything except Suzy's acting. Her…
I have to disagree. She had a lot of scenes there by herself, giving monologues that weren't good, but in no way affected the show negatively. She also had good chemistry with the two leads which also supports the claim on why her acting has improved. (Have you seen Uncontrollably Fond? That show is a disaster. 0 chemistry between Suzy and Kim Woo Bin.)
Don't get me wrong, I hate her acting too. While you were sleeping is the first drama of Suzy that I like/love. I hate everything else
WTF?! Why does the rating keeps going down? It was 9.0 now 8.7.
A lot of people don't want the slowness of the pace of the story. Even for a melodrama, I would claim that the build up of the plot here is really slow. It isn't dragging, but it's really slow. Don't get me wrong, I've watched so many genres of different movies and tv shows of different cultures/nationalities that I can appreciate this as well. I'm just saying that I get why some have dropped this drama.
I find it hard to continue hating IU after deciding to watch this. Damn it. I used to hate her a lot because her acting seems so average, if not bad, to me. I don't know what changed specifically to be honest, but her portrayal of Ji An just looks so painfully real. I still find it hard to enjoy the overall sad aura of the show, but IU has made my heart ache more than once in certain scenes. Please do bad. I already stopped hating on Suzy after WYWS
