Doek-Ro’s arrogance has increased in the previews and stills. The article basically talks about his greed and asks the question “what will it do to SanDoek?”…cause of his sister being part of the concubine selection.
The funny thing is Viki keeps updating the subtitles, so every time I watch an episode again it’s like brand…
😂🤣 I know. It was weird at first but glad they fixed some of the mistakes. I think someone goes back and edits everything after the volunteers complete the translation.
I want to watch this, but it’s hard for me to watch shows where a character starts out free-spirited, but they…
So it depends on what you mean by being broken by the system. Yes, she’ll give into her feelings for the ML which means more palace rules decorum to follow but her spirit remains the same (my view based on novel spoilers of their interactions and history) until personal tragedy hits which is very realistic (any of us would be broken by the kind of personal tragedy she faced and it’s not till the last part which hasn’t aired yet). She wasn’t broken by the system because ML will try to protect her as much as possible. She’s politics free and only gets involved to protect the ML. She matures and grows throughout the drama.
Hong deok ro will eventually be the antagonist regardless of who he joins hands with tbh
I’m expecting he will be the last main antagonist to get rid of. In the previous version he joined hands with the Queen Dowager and her minister who was Jeongjo’s enemy.
Me too. I want to see the family scenes from both the Novel and Yi-San. I read that Jeongjo was very proud of his son and loved him even though he had to show restraint for their safety. Would love to see them in private residence with the puppy.
I think this should be the last rejection. In the historical stuff I read, there was only one significant rejection after he became King, then she accepted. Also, I think this rejection will also take into account Doek-Ro’s sister becoming concubine. Hopefully she’s only in one episode. I liked in the novel, he never slept with her cause of how young she was.
Some of this part has played out in other scenes. Like him calling her Deok-Imah so there might be a drunken kiss…
Hope so. My biggest pet peeve about drunken first times in dramas is that they always have the FL sneak out and ML forget it happened. Thank goodness it’s not a modern drama cause then we’ll end up with a secret baby.
