After watching some of the videos of Le Seyoung on YouTube, I can definitely see how she said Doek-Im resembles some of her. She’s pretty low key, does her own thing, curious, mischievous, with a sense of humor.

We’re all waiting impatiently for their couple scenes 🥰. And the comment about Doek-Ro is probably based on history since that’s what actually happened. Old Yi-San drama showed it but it was pretty upsetting to see how many chances that character got before exile and his illness that led to death.

He didn’t really mean it and was only paying lip service to his mother’s worries about him being distracted.

His wife is barren…she only had one pregnancy and never delivered so it was thought to be a phantom pregnancy (history: one speculation is that real life Hong Doek-Ro may have had something to do with it to get his sister in the door). So the only reason I can see them doing a cameo is for her coronation as Queen and acceptance of Doek-Im since the Queen and Doek-Im had a good relationship. Otherwise, it’s just an extra character for the current plot.

I think because the focus is on Doek-Im and San; San’s rise to the throne as a backdrop without a harem drama plot. To me, it’s already assumed she’s in the background., just not characterized unless they show a brief cameo later. The team has been surprising people with cameos. The only reason why there’s the possibility of “Consort Won” is because of Doek-ro. Otherwise she would have been less significant than Queen Hyoui.

Can’t wait to see the video after it airs. Lol…my obsession with Red Sleeve…this is how I’m spending my time between episode releases. Watching the King of the Masked Singers cuts of them two and 2PM/Junho videos roasting JYP 🤣😂 and of course their MVs…just discovered the video of them singing “Promise” at a restaurant.

I think from what I read, most concubines are only known by their title but Doek-Im is different because Yi-San made sure she wasn’t forgotten by adding her title to her real name in a lot of documents.

I haven’t watched a Kdrama where they’ve added an episode or do a special episode so going to wait to see what it consists of. CDramas do it all the time with dramas that are popular…add on a short special episode that’s fluff sweetness of the main leads…like a modern episode of the main couple in Goodbye My Princess so that the audience got their happy ending in modern time as if the drama was a dream of their previous life in ancient times where it was a sad ending.

😂 We’re with you on the frustration. I’ve been watching the YouTube BTS videos and rewatching all my favorite scenes. I like both Seyoung and Junho so been watching videos of them on YouTube and the Junho/2PM videos from LBPG. Yes, I’ve dived into the Junho rabbit hole. 🥰 I added some of his solo songs to my Red Sleeve playlist where the lyrics fit into the San/Doek-Im feels.

The whole CP Sado thing has been controversial and is still debated. Some say he was set up and some say he wasn’t. His wife’s memoirs say that he had a complete change in personality after recovering from a critical illness. After he recovered, he became paranoid and cruel. Because of the law regarding sentencing royal members, the king couldn’t sentence him to death so instead made him stay in a rice chest in the sun which ultimately took his life but he never officially got the death penalty. Some say the King was like that in later years because he felt guilt over Sado’s death because he realized afterwards it was a political set up by opposing factions but it was too late.

The King did grow weary and paranoid in his later years but like you said, he was still wise. In the drama, he has his moments of clarity (like giving him the military badge) and his own reasons behind his actions that are always misinterpreted by outsiders but maybe that was the whole point. I remember in Moon Embracing the Sun, the King was cruel and indifferent to his older son to prevent people from killing him like how his brother was killed.

🤷🏻‍♀️ I didn’t even realize they were still filming until all this came out. I’m always under the impression that everything wraps up 3-4 months before airing for post production.

All the acrobatics training in the past has paid off. He did great in the action scenes. Him and his team have been great at marketing/exposure for him through social media. Love watching his videos.

He looks so cute. I could totally see him as their son.

I don’t think they write the script as it goes anymore right? They probably already had the script written before filming started and just have minor edits/adjustments as they film.

I think it will be a bittersweet ending. They’ll have their happiness followed by sadness like IRL. But bittersweet by giving us an afterlife like in DongYi.

Lol…I went back to watch a few episodes remind me that the King is cute little genius Geum from DongYi.
