Would be awesome if it’s right. That means possibly 5 episodes of Noble Consort Uibin Seong?
Yes. They won’t show the other concubine since the only one mentioned here is Doek-Ro’s sister and we still don’t know if that will happen but IRL, she was actually concubine #3 in order of marriage even though she was ranked #1 due to giving birth to their son. He’s too in love with Doek-Im to take any other concubine after her.
In ep 10, it feels like there’s more to the queen than she appears? She was the one to suggest the king to guess…
I don’t think she had anything to do with the incident. But she’s always been a gray character that does what she needs to to survive? Since this drama is only 17 episodes, I don’t think they would waste their time on that but when I peeked at the old Lee-San drama, she ends up turning against JeongJo later on towards the end of his reign. I’ve also read that some people thought she started to poison JeongJo and caused his death in his 40’s.
🤣 I didn’t even see the preview at the end of ep10 on Viki. It looked like it was cut off. I just wait for…
Definitely agree. It’s like what Terra1000 said about the depressing/predictable formulas that are used over and over with unending scheming and freedom for people who deserve punishment. I still need to see Hamilton live…ugh…only got to see it on Disney due to Covid.

I know what you mean about politics in historical dramas. And it’s even more complicated in Asian historical dramas because of all the cultural nuances that can get convoluted. Even though I grew up in the culture (confucianism, etc.) I’m always researching things to understand and follow the story of some of the more complicated historical dramas. If not done right, it can lose a lot of its audience.
We went from angry/possessive neck grab, to desperately relieved squeeze, to touchless caress, to life-affirming…
🤣😂 They did it again with the unexpected…that longing stare and touch then instead of a kiss, San pinched Doek-Im’s cheeks. Reminded me of the face in the book stack.
Now that you mention it, I took a peek at old Lee-San drama and that scene reminded me of SongYeon’s death scene there. 😭

I heard that the fans in Korea were asking for more politics. Luckily though, I think the political focus will slow down once he’s King which I’m hoping is within the next episodes or so. Viki took forever to release the episode today but at least it was fully subbed when it was available.
Deok Ro doesn’t want Deok Im to be close to San since that would mean that Deok Im would know San’s secrets.…
I think he’s been feeling out San’s attachment to Doek-Im. Does San have affection or just lust? If San has feelings for Doek-Im, there would be competition for his sister and therefore threat to his position with San and power. To me, he is the male version of CL Jo in terms of using a concubine for power/leverage with San. Difference is while CL Jo uses court ladies, he uses his sister.
I'm not going to post my review at the moment because....OKAY Viki Rakuten....we have to have a conversation again.…

Ep 11 preview subhttps://twitter.com/shjky/status/1469802958913032193?s=21I’m confused. I thought he was already…
He kept turning it down in the past but that last time his grandfather brought it up, there was protest so there was no official edict announced yet. Though he’s been helping review the petitions and doing state work.
Watching Deok Im going through all kind of internal conflicts these past ep, and how Seyoung manages to subtly…
Totally agree with you about how Seyoung portrayed Doek-Im going through her internal conflicts. Those few complaints sounded mostly like they were expecting her character to be the typical emotional mirror of the ML. But Doek-Im’s character is as you described, rational and level headed in unexpected intense situations. It reminds me of the conversation between the King and Court Lady Jo, that the King chose Yeongbin because she was calm warmth vs CL Jo being a mirror of himself. Both Seyoung and Junho are great with their micro expressions and eyes. Watching the BTS, they literally feed off each other and it seems like they could probably improvise anything and be in sync with each other (joking kissing scene). It’s no wonder Junho commented on their chemistry that Seyoung is an actress that fits him well. They both did great researching and becoming their characters too.
The scene with CL Jo and the King was fantastic - her heartbreak at hearing the reason why Yeongjo didn't take…
I need to put that on my watchlist. I added Lee San to my watchlist on Viki. Sometimes I just want to watch an epic historical series, whether it’s Korean, Thai or Chinese.

Agree…I would have loved to watch Junho and Seyoung in a 50 episode sageuk of this epic love story and his journey from CP to King. They could throw in all the couple scenes and bedtime bickering. I’d be okay with a little bit of side story for the body guard and Doek-Im’s friends along with Queen/Doek-Im friendship. I haven’t seen those crazy long epic sageuks in a while. Do they no longer make them because of production time and cost? Sadly, both IRL and in the drama, Doek-Ro’s sister wasn’t very significant and was only a tool for her brother.

I hope so too. I don’t think they have enough time for any further rejections since it’s only 17 episodes. I hope they rush through the Doek-Ro little sister thing and give us some Doek-Im/San married bliss.

I read that too. One of the theories is that Sado was manipulated into hysteria after he recovered from a great illness. It was also questionable that the illness may have been caused by someone intentionally.
I still love Doek-Im/San development. Like you said, their hearts belong to each other but can’t act on it due to the dangers. So glad it wasn’t a rejection but a redirection to what’s important at hand, which was San’s making it on the throne safely.
I need subs for what Doek-Ro said in that preview. Does it seem like he’s going to try and separate them so…
Ugh…wanted to smack him for his snide comment telling Yi-San to just sleep with Doek-Im to get it out of his system. Kang Hoon is doing a good job since his character is getting on a lot of people’s nerves.
I still need subs to fully understand but I agree this episode is set up for the final Head Court Lady battle.…
I think it’s mainly because biggest obstacle in his life was staying alive as CP and making it to the throne so they probably wanted to showcase that part along with Doek-Im.
