Wow, I hope she feels better soon! And thank you Kim Kyung Nam for asking for too much money? 😂 What a blessing…
That’s crazy. I know of very well established actors/actresses who lower their fees for roles that they feel reach out to them. So glad it was Junho and Seyoung instead since it seems like these roles were meant for them. TBH, I didn’t know who the first couple were.
I’ll take some version of the first night together with or without kissing. The way these two are on screen, their steamy looks and closeness will be 🔥
Guys...it's getting bad. I'm stalking twitter feeds. But I found something that looks like they may kiss in the…
Saw that in one of the BTS videos. It was when they were filming the YS taking SDI temp scene. We could only hope that’s another scene with that same outfit added. The PD just said something and they literally went for it even if it was incomplete. I could totally see them doing kissing scenes together now. 🤞
It’s speculated that the whole thing was planned by the king - he knew There would likely be an assassination…
So the drama is a merge of the novel and other historical things that was discovered after the novel was written with a sprinkle of dramatization. Some events that happened in the novel were moved around most likely due to short drama length/flow (16ep compared to older 50-70 ep historical dramas). So far, they’ve done a great job.
🤣 I’m not sure if it was a love story behind it but from what I read, everyone was scared of the Queen’s strong/fierce personality. That kdrama would be more female centric.
Exactly. It’s always assumed that Kings and Queens are all powerful but these historical dramas always remind us that they also don’t have full control of their lives. Their lives belong to the country and people first and then to themselves. That means sometimes having multiple wives to ensure the line of succession. I think there was only one monarch (Yi-SAN’s great-great grandfather, Hyeonjong) that didn’t have any concubines, but it was only because the Queen was able to bear an heir so she could deny concubines.
I think it's very difficult to know her inner thoughts and feelings since we don't have any of her first-hand…
I think it’s more of an inference that she reciprocated his feelings since she didn’t write it down like he did on her memorial tablet. It’s very rare for any Asian monarch/historic figure to publicize their feelings so for someone who was as disciplined as Jeongjo to memorialize his love infers that it was reciprocated. I read that there were records of their relationship, constant talking and laughing together. She was basically what his grandfather said he needed in the drama, his confidante and love.
🤣😂 I keep going down the Junho and 2PM YouTube rabbit hole. Also started going through Lee Seyoung videos too. Love how they’re both their own persons and just true to themselves.
We were debating this earlier but as the drama is focused on their love story and how that got him through his tough times, they’re not showing the harem part. For Yi-San, it wasn’t a huge thing as with the exception of Doek-Im, he only took a concubine when forced to in order to have an heir.
If it's about episode 7, maybe this perspective could helphttps://twitter.com/nuneoit/status/1467880963673714688?t=EFEUsT2kgVJwswIlIHj8uw&s=19
IKR…even the rejection scene. You can see the internal struggle Doek-Im was going through in her facial expressions; the elation in that short moment before reality hit.

Yeah…that episode is a stark reminder of their times and the struggles they had with their feelings and positions. They’re both so good in their roles.
It says 13.1%. Is that the average rating or was that the peak rating for the last episode?

Really loving all the OST so far.
