Some sources say liver cancer. Some suspected she may have been poisoned or not given proper medical treatment by the relative of the other concubine, Noble Consort Hwa. In modern day, we know there are multiple causes of liver cancer, to includes ingestion of certain poisons. She died along with her unborn baby (3rd child).
I wonder how much us international folks are missing by not having the historical context the local audience will.…
Lol…History videos on YouTube and googling facts on the characters. I do it with about all of the historical Kdramas, Cdramas, Thai dramas I watch if it features a historical figure.
^^ lee se young is so funny, I ship them so much https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeSjZMOz41w
Lol…according to her costars she’s the mood maker on set. On their Twitter show Junho said he’s not self-conscious of making mistakes/bloopers like before because she makes the set fun.

That’s a mis-translation. It’s supposed to be Noble Consort, Yi-San’s grandmother. In the novel comparison, apparently the scene where Deok-Im met the King as a child in his deceased concubine’s chamber actually happened historically (not in novel) but he gave her the book a week later. However he does have a wife. Someone said it’s a very brief mention by one of the court ladies when they’re older.

Think it was said that after Deok-Im married Yi-San, she always paid respect to and cared for the Queen and even the Queen was saddened over Deok-Im’s death cause it was like she lost a sister.

I know it’s not as factual as the original Yi-San. The thing that seems to be factual are the characters that existed existed historically. The events themselves and some character origins are fiction/dramatized to enhance the romance.

Yes, I think someone said one of the court ladies talked about it in passing. Looks like they’ve kept to this part in history but didn’t actually portray the character in person. They also haven’t thrown in the concubines yet. And the only one they might show is Noble Consort Won since she’s Hong Doek-Ro’s sister and Hong Doek-Ro is playing a big part in the drama. She’s his first concubine. Don’t know if they talked about the third wife (second concubine-before Doek-I’m) in the novel.

He’s of a lower, poorer branch of the Hong family so his only connection to power is through the CP. Since CP isn’t close to his wife and they don’t have children yet, if he can get his sister to be chosen as a Concubine, he’ll have a lasting connection to the future King. Plus, CP already has a legal wife since he was like 11 hrs old. CP’s always get married young historically. Although I wouldn’t put it pass him to be the reason why the Crown Princess is infertile since he’s always sneaky around the court ladies.
is this based on real king or is it completely fictional? i hope its fictional... there are more chances for a…
It depends on how they’ll do the ending. I haven’t read the novel but IRL, they were happy together for about 4 years before their son, CP Munho passed away followed by Doek-Im, who was pregnant with their 3rd child. I hope they stop at her giving birth to their first child, show a bit of happiness like in Red Sky then do a time hop to his writing the epitaph.
If they put that character in her, I hope they keep to history and his sister passes away childless less than…
That’s the sad part. His sister seems nice and innocent and easy for him to control. Probably someone that Yi-San wouldn’t really pay attention to therefore would further his connection but not pose a threat to his position in Yi-San’s life. Such a creepy jerk. Felt creeped out 🤢 when put his hands on Doek-Im to kind of warn her off.
Deok Ro is so creepy especially with him touching Deok Im 🤢
🤮 He was so creepy when he touched her and put his face close to hers to try and scare her. Jerk is basically scared of loosing future power if he’s no longer the closest person to Yi-San.
So the tutor is preparing his sister for the cp. just like in the original yi san drama. Even in that one at least…
If they put that character in her, I hope they keep to history and his sister passes away childless less than a year into the marriage. Although that didn’t stop him from trying to gain power through adopting CP’s brother. Don’t know how historically accurate but his character was known for being power hungry. I agree that they got the right actor to play him. Have been irritated by his character since the beginning when he was using all the court ladies.
Finale 10 minutes of a happy ending and some dumbass redemption arc even for ZX. 🤮
Poor Marius Wang. He shed tears during one of the BTS interviews when he was trying to answer questions. He talked about the pressures they are put under as actors in C Entertainment. That was during filming and now they all have to bear the scrutiny of this mess. 🤦🏻♀️ The first time I noticed him was as SML in Legend of Two Sisters in Chaos.

Can his redemption arc be death on the battlefield in the war against QT? Like QT uses his new weapon on ZBN, and he blocks the shot for her…a hole in the chest, bleed out from lost limb, etc. or is that too mean? I’ll settle for that if he gets a redemption arc…at least his obsession will for once be useful. They’re trying to put a halo on GMR so I wouldn’t be surprised if they made ZX a martyr hero at the last minute as his redemption. 🤢
It was all the fault of script writers/editors/production team and not the actors so I don’t understand about…
🤦🏻♀️ Yeah…that’s why I don’t take most of these dramas seriously anymore. I’ll usually find something interesting that brings me back to watching dramas then start loosing interest when stuff like this happens. After this one, Love At Night, and Fall in Love, I might leave cdrama land for a little bit. Then maybe come back later for Novoland when it’s done.
I think since they focused on Yi-San/Doek-I’m relationship and how that relationship helped him find relief…
Hopefully that’s what they do. In a history video I watched, the part where she gives birth to their son and they raise him was supposed to be the happiest part of their life together. If what the video read is true, I can see why their story was romanticized cause the inscription on the epitaph really showed how much she meant to him. https://youtu.be/P31KllPLa68
