Preview of the ost by Lucia (going to be released December 12)https://youtube.com/shorts/tZ0vpCY5MDM?feature=share
How many OSTs are there going to be? I’ve downloaded all four that’s been released so far. Made a Red Sleeve playlist that has all 4 OSTs and 2PM’s “I’m Your Man” and “Love Song”🥰 with their afterlife picture as the playlist cover.
Her rejections according to the historical videos actually had good reasons. First time was because the Queen…
Because of palace rules, he couldn’t let things go without consequences but he couldn’t bear to punish her so he punished one of her attendants. Him sparing her life both times made her realize his feelings were true which stirred her heart so after that she gave into her feelings and him. At least that’s what I read.
Questions for the folks more familiar with the historical figures. Do you think their story has been romanticised?…
Her rejections according to the historical videos actually had good reasons. First time was because the Queen hadn’t bore a child yet so she felt it was inappropriate to Mary him and bear his children before the Queen had an heir. It doesn’t mention her true feelings until after the second rejection.
isnt she already a slave to the king/crown prince? also why did the king has to threaten her, cant he like make…
It’s explained in a different context in a YouTube historical video. Her rejection of the King was basically a death sentence. The first time no one got hurt but he couldn’t do that again the second time she rejected him because of palace rules. Rather than killing her, which is what was expected, he punished her attendant. His sparing her life again made her realize he truly loved her and caused her to change her mind and finally accept him.
I think her gaol is to have done watch the crown prine for signs of insanity which the say Sado suffered and take…
Yeah…she’s pretty different than the Left State Minister where it seems she bounces back and forth with replacing him versus using him through Doek-I’m. This drama has been full of twists on traditional tropes so who knows. We’ll see as the story unfolds. Just hate the wait 😆
Yeah…and I was also glad to learn that there was no jealousy between the Queen and Doek-Im because Doek-In knew her role and served the Queen well. She didn’t use Yi-San’s love for her to hurt the Queen. Most of what I read said that they had a really good relationship. Queen felt it was like loosing a sister when Doek-Im died.
I think that’s why I love their story and the way this drama is going so far. They were really trapped by their times but they made it work for themselves and those closest around them as best they could. Was glad they at least got to be together no matter that it was bittersweet and short.
So I just read that he confessed to her 3 times before she accepted him and he waited a total of 15 years for…
Yeah…it was a long “courtship”but their love was true. From what I read, she did have feelings for him but like in the drama, her character and all the issues of palace life kept her from taking that final step. I mean, as a King, he can have whoever he wants at any time and I don’t think it was a secret that he didn’t really have affection for his wives. His country and people were first. And the palace a cage. One story said that she was finally convinced and moved by him sparing her life for rejecting him twice that she gave into the flutters of her heart.
As for the drama, I am curious if they’ll show both rejections before she gave in at the third confession.

Knowing her thoughts on CP’s blood line, I fully agree with her using Doek-Im as the puppet but I would go one step further with your reasoning for watching to see if CP shows similar signs to Sado. Based on Court Lady Park’s words and Head Court Lady Jo’s character, I can actually see her wanting to use Doek-Im to ensure that Yi-San turns out like his father deliberately…like a set-up. There’s thoughts that Sado was set up to seem insane. However, now she’s sure that Doek-Im is not easily manipulated.
I love that we have so many female characters and that they are getting in on the political schemes as well as…
I think for her it’s two fold. The jealousy part was fulfilled through the manipulation and death of CP Sado. To me she’s like Doek-Ro, it’s all about the power/prestige. I got that from her conversation with child Doek-Im in ep1 when they were watching the funeral procession. Since she couldn’t get it as a concubine, she got it by being the head Court Lady and head of Fairy Palace secret org.
Concubines or Royal Nobel Consorts are still wives. The difference is that the Queen is the legal/legitimate wife and the others are illegitimate but still considered wives nominally. Hierarchy wise, they’re also servants to the Queen and would treat the Queen as their older sister.
It seems like they didn't find the ripped out pages of the banned book that Deok-im kept inside this book. I feel…
Hopefully it’ll be soon? It’s already halfway through the series. I’m hoping for at least 1 episode or half an episode of happiness at the end. If it’s an exile and time hop, then that will probably be the time of Doek Ro’s sister being concubine since they did bring her character into the show? Hope it’s as short lived as real life. No offense to her being innocent and all but Doek Ro is a duschbag.
In real life he actually kinda forced her into becoming his concubine.
I think that part is still in debate. That’s what I saw someone post but that’s looking through modern eyes that he forced her by punishing those around her. But one of the historical videos I watched/read said that him sparing her life both times she rejected him showed her how much he really cared for her and that made her feel his love and change her mind. Refusing a CP is really a death sentence and she said no twice.
I think episode 7 is really discussing about voice, rights and power in life, in love and relationships.Deok Mi…
The biggest thing about her rejection is that she hasn’t been killed. Court ladies belong to the masters they serve and to reject a prince’s favor was usually a death sentence. What’s special about their relationship in real life is that he protected her during both times she rejected him. No one got hurt the first time but the second time, he had to punish one of the other court ladies in order to spare her. It would have been bad for his authority if no one was punished.

Lol…they couldn’t keep straight faces rehearsing that neck grab scene.
