Yeah, that’s post kidnapping. That’s why there’s fans that are posting asking Zhu to go kidnap JX already. The actor responded, soon but I have to get out of jail first. They offered to break him out so he can get the job done…lol.

That’s why I hope they don’t pair them up and just let her be happily alone until she meets her Mr right because these two aren’t it.

That’s why I hope they keep the post break-up convoys from the novel. It’s essentially all she wanted was not to be kept in the dark because no matter how you look at it, with or without XingChen, JX is involved as his gf. She can get attacked by anyone that he hurts in his business dealing or any of his enemies. She doesn’t need every detail but at least know the depth of what she’s dealing with.

I hope they keep the post kidnapping conversations between HT and JX. It was the best parts of the novel. JX told HT that when she said “love is where you’re willing to die/sacrifice for someone but she didn’t mean it like that.” They really opened up to each other after.

It’s literally the only thing HT needs to do, don’t keep her in the dark, because by virtue of being with him, JX is involved. It just took a kidnapping for HT to realize that.

I wish if they did the one episode a day, it would at least be an hour half but it’s so short. Like you I wish it was 2 a day on the weekend too.

My favorite JX line from the novel when they were in the hospital before the “let’s start over as HT and JX, not investor and entreprenuer.” That’s shown in the trailers. I hope they include it. It was when they really communicated.

She said, “I am a person with a lot of inertia. If I’m with you, I’m afraid I’ll love you more and more. So before that happens, I want to know as much as I can about you — what you’re thinking, what you plan to do, all of it. Even if you step into a gray area in the future, my presence is already a part of it, a conspiracy. I want to know why I am doing this for you. If I have to stand by your side no matter what happens in the future, I want to know whom I am standing for. I will love you very much in the future — so, I want to know which one of you I love. Am I really loving the real you?”

That’s why I don’t mind the break up in this drama. The whole merger and her resigning was done better in the novel though. Need to see ep 33 to see how they play the rest of it out in the drama.

Then you would be surprised at all the characters. They whitewashed all the characters personal lives. The only character they kept the same as the novel was JX’s first relationship but kept the sleeping part ambiguous. It was alsoJX that cooked a little in their relationship and not HT.

Agree. That’s why I’m waiting to see the rest of this part in the drama since they cut off the rest of her email at end of ep32 and hadn’t explained her leaving yet.

In the novel, what she quit was being CEO (basically you guys are talking about because she lost the company by playing into HT/CH games). The merger wasn’t until after she resigned and was only a shareholder. Then she took the VP position and went for training. The novel version is better.

That second meeting is where they announced the positions. They’re already past that stage. It looks like they condensed everything into that one merger meeting. I think it’s just weird for the writer to have her go overseas for that long without giving a reason. At least in the novel, the 3 months she was gone was for training for her job as VP.

Funny because I thought the same too. In the novel it was a clear break up. In this it wasn't. She didn’t tell anyone that she had broken up with HT. I think because she loved him and just needed a cooling off period to think what she really wants without the influence of HT or anyone else.

My favorite line of JX from the novel. Ch 72 was a good one.

I guess that’s their way of condensing the chase 🤷🏻‍♀️ I hate public declarations. It makes the person giving it desperate and put the person receiving it on the spot.

There are different styles of leadership, a style that’s more managerial, and one that is more humanistic. In smaller companies, the leaders know their employees more and will write their staff things like that in their farewells. It’s still professional. At my work, it is expected that I know my staff in the manner that JX knows her staff but still maintain the boundaries of boss and employee.

I don’t think her definition of love is that he can give Dongyang up for her, it’s more like if he loved her, he wouldn’t have let her fall into that trap. He literally let her do it so that he can use it as leverage with HY. HY called him out on it. HT, being the business genius that he is, could have worked around it. They both have issues and definitely needed this time apart because they both love each other too much.

She doesn’t have a big part in the novel, no love line except being the married boss, Wu’s mistress (in the drama he tried to hit on LiLi and then his wife shows up). They changed LiLi’s character for the better in the drama.
