With JX to break the shell he built since his parent’s death, yes. He’s harsh in business and to his enemies but a softy for his JX post break-up.

And then he realizes he would sacrifice for her (he wouldn’t sacrifice Dongyang but himself). She was collateral damage in his fight with HY which led to the kidnapping. The breakup helped them realize they both have the same thoughts about each other just expressed and prioritized differently.

She’s not involved in the business and can live freely. She’s not part of the fight for corporate power.
HY may be close to the grandfather but she’s not the expected heir that the grandfather trained so she’s fighting for a chance to replace HT. HY’s mom is probably from a background similar to ZD so she’s got airs about her position and status. It’s no wonder HT found the complete opposite of the stuffy side. From the flash backs, HT’s parents in the drama are more like JX parents in terms of parent/child relationships.

The break up was needed so that they can have a fresh clear headed start to a more solid relationship. I think JX was right to walk away and think clearly about what she wants because HT is inseparable from his business persona and HT needs to fully embrace what he really feels for JX. The kidnapping makes him realize JX will always be affected by his business dealings as collateral damage and she can't be kept in the dark. He no longer hides how he does things and they communicate on a whole other level.

JX chose to walk away from everything. She loved him and was hurt. It’s where HY’s comment to HT in the novel comes in…If JX stayed with him after everything he did, then she doesn’t love him anymore.

“She stood up to leave but suddenly remembered something and laughed, “You set up this trap and waited for me. It’s impressive how you lured Tongke into financing XingChen. I lost, of course. After all, not everyone can drag the woman they like into a vortex and use her for their own purposes. You’re not an ordinary person.”

Han Ting’s eyes turned slightly cold.

“After this, if she can still stay by your side as if nothing happened, it means she no longer cares about you. So now, I’m curious. Do you want her to stay or to leave?” Han Yuan waved at him and walked away with a smirk.”

They both did the same thing to each other in a way. I look at it neutrally.

It’s all in their conversation when HT was about to tell her about Han Hai but held himself back when CH called. She immediately told HT that CH made an investment offer. HT asked what she would do and she said impossible, she’d never collude with your competitor which made HT stop was he was originally going to say because Oh-oh, he was colluding with Xing Chen’s competitor.

His response, we’re going to meet the families so you can’t change your mind about us if something happens later.

JX didn’t decide to go with CH investment until later when she realizes about Han Hai. Also, with her discussion with LiLi and SZZ, she went with business and not personal…bring someone else in instead of getting more investment from the current investor and giving them more power.

They mixed business with personal and didn’t communicate on both sides. He did wrong and she did wrong. Neither was more wrong than the other.

I’m just waiting to see if they keep to the novel in this part. In the novel, he originally was going to sign over 50% to JX but she didn’t accept it and chose to resign and tell them to go ahead with the merger. It’s a full merger not two separate companies. They also move Dr Cloud over to Han Hai Xing Chen to fully integrate the 3 parts of Donyang, Han Hi, and Xing Chen. Her only concessions to the merger was that her employees didn’t loose their jobs (which often happens in mergers) and her getting to transfer 1% to most likely LiLi (for her 100,000)

There’s 10 eps left. That puts it at 31-33 from Fri-Sun, then 2 eps a day after so ep 40 should be Thurs?? Unless they change airing schedule.

Dang it…they changed SYC’s career and when he met HT so wonder how they’ll replace the scene where Qin Lin puts his foot in his mouth. I loved that part in the novel even though JX probably wished she was an ostrich 🤣

Did HT do the family meetings to pull JX in deeper to kind of tie her in for when she finds out about Han Hai? He’s really getting himself some insurance and preparing.

I don’t think either of their views on love is wrong. Not every couple has the same views on love but they can complement each other which realized once HT and JX break up.

I’ll go for that. 😆

I say give LiLi a new man…not XYC or SZZ. One’s got issues and the other is just hasn’t seem to grow.
