The book is actually all the morden drama ( Forever & Ever) and 3-5 chapters are about the past life (One and Only). So actually most of it is about this drama.

Actually FaE was filmed first and they changed the director for One and Only. I agree that Allen Ren tends to breathe a little hard and sighs a lot but that is only part of the problem. I feel because OaO was so good people had very high expectations for this drama. Plus because of the changes between the drama and the novel some people felt let down. I think the next 20 episodes will make it or break it. There were a lot of complaints in the first 10 episodes of OaO as well it did not get really good until the last 7-8 episodes so let's wait and see.

There is nothing wrong with that. And I believe that further down ZSC will be shown as being more assertive and in charge, but ZY is definitely not going to be more submissive.

Why and in what sense do you want him stronger? He is not being portrayed as a sissy. He is just unsure on how to handle his relationship with Shi Yi and his family and a bit nerdy. In regards to his family, respect needs to be earned, he just came back, he has not proven himself yet. Do you want him to act like a dictator, bang down his fist and say this is how things are going to be from now on!! The novel I believe was first published in 2014, times have changed.
Agreed. I feel that because Shi Yi does not remember their prior life, her pull towards him is not as strong as in the novel, plus the submissive aspect of her was changed because the drama is not only geared towards Chinese people, so they have to show her more independent and able. And ZSC was definitely more security conscious in the novel. Had even 4 cars of bodyguards following him wherever he went. Also because of the family ties to the mafia that are not shown in the drama. Oh in the drama he cries, but in the novel there is no such thing.
