A forced happy ending, to be precise. It should be a sad ending, but you know, the writers want to satisfy us with happy ending. It's quite typical in c-drama.

They are doing a good job when it comes to butchering. It will destroy the core of the story and the adaptation is likely to be a flop if they insist on using 36-episode format cause there are 200+ chapters and how they're going to cover all of those? 😶😶

This show has a tinge of Si Jin's vibe (I only read the manga but will probably skip the live-action adaptation).

And you're right about the thirty-six-episode issue. They will have to cut most of the scenes in the novel aka butchering. As of now, I'm quite doubtful that it's going to be adapted.

I am pissed off by the way they butcher the OG source. Though I only have a copy of the second volume, I can still make a lot of comparison between the show and the novel which doesn't help much since the script has been altered. The way those characters behave and their actions are a bit different compared to the novel. I'm really disappointed in Hong Qigong - they decided to cut off his antics - I've been longing to watch him pulling his funny tricks, but look at what we've got😭😭

As of now, I'm only interested in Mei Chaofeng and Ouyang Ke. I'm downgrading it to 7.5 and see if there is any development.

In my honest opinion, whoever gets casted as the main leads of this show will have to be aware of fans and trolls alike cos this is a very well-known novel and if they ruined it, wouldn't that be a disaster? However, I haven't read the novel yet and don't understand why all these people got hyped even though the casts haven't been confirmed. If the novel is to be adapted into live-action show, I can't imagine how the world is going to explode in one day 🤯🤯

Been liking Su Muyu since TBOY. I'm so, so happy that he has his own arc too. I bet Gong Jun will be able to slay his new role after the big disappointment of FSMM.

In my opinion, both Su Muyu and Wen Kexing have killer vibes, but their personalities are actually different. One is indifferent, calm, and can control his temper well while the other is an unhinged psychopath hellbent on revenge.

I'm also glad that Chang Huasen took Su Changhe's role. I've been adoring him since AJTL.

If you look at their profiles carefully, they are same scriptwriters for FSMM's trilogy and also Love You Seven Time's scriptwriter team (there may be one or two who are unrelated tho).
