I thought it was beautiful with how Moran exchanged his powerful position in the Underworld, for just 100 years in the mortal world in order to reunite with Chu Wanning, but Chu Wanning was insinuated to live on forever because he culminated as the upholder/protector of the medium that maintains the mortal world.
The thing that struck me, was how everything wraps up with imagery of Haitang (Begonia) flower we were introduced to, at the very beginning of the story that originally held such an innocent and pure impression. I didn't even pay attention to it initially and thought it was just a superfluous description/accessory that accompanied Chu Wanning's beauty. But it is developed and carried all the way until the very end with a renewed appreciation of the flowers in awe, almost majestic like.
