The best part about the movie is the directing. There isn't much plot, it's just 50% death scenes and 50% friendship. It's an oddly cute horror movie if you want something easy to watch. 7/10
Also Maeda looks as gorgeous as always so that's a plus.
The story feels like it'd play out better as an anime. It's a really interesting plot, but 50 min episodes where none of the actors really bring out the suspense aspect, makes a slow watch. I would've loved this as an anime, the only thing I really enjoyed about this was Ryusei because he is amazing as a subtle actor. Just watch his eyes and body language, the man is crazy talented even when the role is on the restrained side.
I saw this the page for it on viki, so I looked it up on mdl. I watched the trailer and was like "Ren?? From Nuest??" Throughout confused as to why this movie was made.
The first 6 eps are fun and original. I cared for the characters and felt the romance. But with the "twist," the plot completely fell apart, the characters started acting super immature and it was just a mess. The first 6 eps were a solid 8 for me, after that it's straight downhill where I skipped through the rest of the eps.
The first half was interesting, because it was a really unique vibe for a cdrama. It felt reminiscent of old cdramas from the early 2000s. The time skip and everything after that, it just starts to fall apart. They ran out of plot, so they throw in a secondary couple that takes up 10 min of an ep. The lead couple has great chemistry, but not enough to make me stay for all 24 eps with little plot. Dropping it on ep 14.
Should've just made it a mini series and taken out the whole illness plotline.
This is not a romance drama. It's about the importance of human relationships and how comfort, compassion, and companions can be so important. It's a show about love, but honestly the romance itself even feels more like a loving companionship.
This entire shows feels like an old jdramas from the 90's. It's has that same warm, slow, realistic, and genuine charm to it. It makes me think of long vacation and such.
This show is like a warm blanket with leads that feel like genuine people.
Also Maeda looks as gorgeous as always so that's a plus.
I think that the clothes are quite cute, but to each their own.
Should've just made it a mini series and taken out the whole illness plotline.
