This is a response to both your comments, but yes, you’re very unfortunately correct.
I understand that BL is supposed to be entertainment just like every other romance, but the weird obsession with abusive & toxic relationships is so damn strange. Many are starting to break away from it, but there’s still some that haven’t gotten the memo. I hate that BLs are catered to women’s fantasies, but I also find it crazy strange that many seem to think abuse & even r**e is a women’s fantasy.
One day, I hope to stray completely away from this obsession BL writers seem to have as well as get rid of all these weird abuse apologist fans. But that’s probably just wishful thinking.

Do you have a list of dramas where the second lead ends up with the main?
Replying to ariasmiling Mar 24, 2024
Everyone criticized me when I talked about the drama's failure, but in the end I ended up being right about everything.…
From the very first episode I thought it was odd people said this version was better than the Korean one.
I felt Mirae’s pain much more than Liu’s. I also felt the FL’s dad not knowing about the surgery was a pretty important part, at least for me it was, & I wasn’t too fond of them cutting that in this remake.
But all in all, the biggest thing for me is the FL’s personality. People wanna say Mirae didn’t have one but I completely disagree. I felt the way Mirae acted made complete sense with the trauma she endured. She still felt like an outcast & didn’t believe people when they called her pretty which is a real thing when you spend so long going through what she did. I like trying to make Liu a strong female, but to me it just felt like her trauma didn’t have as much as a gut punching effect.
Oh, & I also wish they kept the story of how she knew the ML’s mom in too. That part always made me feel so much emotion.

I’m not saying Win is bad, but Eunwoo was perfection as the ML, I don’t care what anyone says! He didn’t play the character emotionless like many thinks, his subtle expressions felt much stronger to me. He played the character a lot closer to the webcomic.

I don’t hate this series & I hate comparing remakes, but there are just things I wish were different in this version.

I was excited to try this out but ngl, pretty bummed Win is the male lead.
Not trying to be a hater, but I just really disliked 2gether & never got the hype over Bright & Win. Win is definitely not the guy I’d think of for Do Kyung Suk.
But I know I can’t judge too harshly on that. I mean, as a person who really doesn’t care for either actor, I did enjoy F4 a decent amount. I always pictured Off as the male lead in the Thai version of Hana Yori Dango & was extremely butthurt when the role went to Bright, but I will admit the outcome wasn’t really as terrible as I thought it’d be. So I’m hoping I get pleasantly surprised with this one as well.

Chemistry is good but we all know what is the missing piece to make it complete.
Apparently the manhwa it’s based on lacks kiss scenes as well because the two were friends for so long that kissing just isn’t something they’re really used to. The drama just followed the manhwa. But I really like that they focus on the feelings rather than the intimate ones.
Kiss scenes can be great but if the story isn’t or the feelings don’t get interpreted well, then the kiss scenes are useless anyway.

I felt so bad for him in the first episode. Bro is just trying to live his life in peace. This was straight up…
I 1000% understand you, but I don’t think it’s the bullying that people are romanticizing. It’s more so the growth. I hated how the was treated in the beginning but it didn’t last long as both characters grow a lot as people ( if that makes sense, I just woke up so I’m writing this half asleep lol)

If you wouldn’t put yourself into the shoes of the characters & think of how you’d feel being treated the way the characters are, then that should be enough of an answer.

So you’d be fine dating and obsessive stalker or an abusive bully? Wild you’re making excuses. I didn’t hate this drama, but at least I can admit it’s toxic.

One character is obsessive & the other bullies & is borderline (if not actually is) abusive. Like, I get there’s growth, but you cannot say this is a healthy relationship.

I’m very surprised no one is saying he looks like Jungkook. I’m not a BTS fan anymore, but the first thing I noticed about him is the similarities he has in looks with Jungkook.

Someone should correct this to 4x25 min episodes.
It would actually be 8 episodes though. Each “episode” is actually 2. They break into a second one halfway through.

Before I watch this, is there any romance? It’s not a deal breaker, I just really enjoy some kind of romantic story arch for most of my dramas lol

HYD was my favorite Asian drama for so long & I’m actually on my like 15th rewatch right now lol. But I will 100% admit to the problematic side in his behavior especially. But HNH was almost the opposite. The male lead wasn’t an aggressive hardass. In fact, he was kind of a coward when it came to fights lol. He still had the spoiled side to him, but from what I remember, he never mistreated the lead. Man, now I gotta go look for it again, talking about it makes me wanna watch again! Lol

im a fan of few classics so its not like i only like fresh stories but this one is SO dated... i didnt like gorya…
Personally, my favorite is the Japanese version. I will 100% the whole story of every adaptation is dated as it’s from a manga made in the 90s. I wish there would be an adaptation that would stray from the toxicity & blatant abuse.
With the Japanese version, I found the female lead to be the least obnoxious & they also didn’t include the SA part with the male lead most of the other versions had (though there is an SA attempt in the 1st episode, still miles less intense as the other versions)

To be quite honest, I’d recommend the Hana Yori Dango sequel, Hana Nochi Hare. New characters, but within the same HYD universe. Nowhere near as toxic. (I haven’t seen it since it came out so there may be some downsides, but to my memory, it was waaaaay more refreshing than all the HYD stories!)

I’m definitely the minority here, but I like the CSY & KMS side ship. I know Minsoo didn’t have the best development, I think he’s definitely on the road to becoming a better person. I will say that I would have liked it better if WYW herself was the one to change his character & be seen as a friend, however, I do still like that CSY helped him with the average amount of development he had. It could be because of how much I love side couples & most romance clichés are my guilty pleasure. But I really enjoyed this series overall. I feel it is a way better portrayal of autism than I’ve seen in most shows. I adore this series & will miss it dearly!!

Respectfully, I disagree. I really like the “a case every episode” part of this show. It shows a lot of the life of an attorney & how much they all learn & grow to become better.
On Extraordinary Attorney Woo Aug 12, 2022
I’m ashamed at how much I still want CSY & KMW to end up together even though he has had almost no character development. I’m such a side couple stan that I can’t help but usually get excited for side couples.
I just really hope they somehow give him a good redemption before the series ends next week. I think the two have really good chemistry & I’m such a sucker for the haters/rivals-to-lovers troupe. Minwoo just really needs to get his crap together!!
