I love the positive differences like the lack of severe bullying & a less toxic ML. Don’t get me wrong, I adore HYD, it was the drama that got me into Asian dramas a decade ago. However, the more rewatches I have of HYD, the more I see how outdated it is.
HNH takes a lot of that negativity down. I also love how similar but different Haruto is to Tsukasa. They’re both immature (sometimes in a good child-like pure way) with a lot of growth & find what’s truly important to them. But Haruto’s character lacks differently than Tsukasa. Tsukasa is too violent & impulsive for his own good whereas Haruto is too much of a coward & can only throw a punch if luck is on his side. Making Tsukasa Haruto’s idol was a cute touch. & having Haruto thrive to be like Tsukasa but not seeing the similarities, only the differences is something I like. His oblivion to that when everyone else who knows Tsukasa can see it is cute.
However, there are things I do dislike in this series. I feel Oto is very wishy-washy. She battles her feelings until the very last minute of the series & arguably makes it worse for the people around her. I love the actress but the character frustrated me at times. The ending felt very odd & rushed because of how she refused to leave Tenma until he had to (literally) push her to Haruto. It was just weird.
I think they were setting up for another season? Not sure. I never finished the manga, I kept losing my spot lol, so I’m not sure if that’s how the mange ends of if there was more.
Also, Megumi might be the character I felt the saddest for. Airi was great & had a great redemption in my opinion but Megumi was just the sweetest soul nearly the whole series. I wanted to dislike her because of the position she was set in between the main leads, but I just couldn’t.
All in all, lovely series, but needed a little work. If they were following the manga completely, I get it. But then that just means that I feel the manga needed some work too lol. The last few episodes felt draggy in a way yet rushed at the same time. I’d give a 7/10.

I started this drama not long after it came out but got busy with life, put it on hold & forgot about it. Just finished it after restarting it & this is my thoughts:

Cunty isn’t bad, it’s a slang word mainly used in the black & gay community. It’s actually a compliment.

Anyone possibly know the actor who plays the cheer captain, Fluke?? Hands down, my favorite character lol

(PS- the way I’m in love with Framboise, the other BL artist, is insane!! His scenes never miss! The first time he’s introduced, I initially laughed & was like “WTF is going on??” but the more he popped up, the happier my heart got! Lmao)

Okay, finished it!! Such a cute little series! The romance is sweet, nothing very flashy or intense, but nice. But the comedy is absolutely the strongest point!! I will stand by the 100% fact that this is one of the funniest BLs I’ve watched in a long time!

I’m only on episode 3 but I keep having to pause it to get my laughs out so I don’t miss anything!
It’s cute so far but the comedy is off the charts!! I hope the romance is just as great as the comedy is for the remaining 5 episodes!

there are some angsty moments, but I feel it’s more unpredictability on if they’ll make it in the end, if that makes sense. It’s honestly a very good drama, exceeded my expectations by a lot!

Lol, I’ve always found the whole Japanese cast to be the most attractive cast. I mean all versions have good looking leads & supporting cast, but there’s just something about MatsuJun lol

I’ll have to rewatch the Korean version but I am almost certain ML tries to force himself on her. Same with the Chinese one. I’m not defending it at all, but in the Japanese one, ML doesn’t tell the bullies to r**e her, he told them to scare her. Yes, it shouldn’t have been added anyways but I feel like most of the versions, if they don’t include the bullies trying to do it in the beginning, they they include the ML trying to force themselves on FL.
I personally feel it’s still pretty out of line to have ML attempt to force himself on her, because whether some see it as a less than offense & it just being a kiss, he scares her & his intentions are actually more than just kissing. If he didn’t stop himself, it would be pretty much just the same as the other scene.

I never finished the manga but it was definitely rough! I like a lot of the live action adaptations but I still find it wild the story itself became so popular to have so many adaptations. The overall rich man poor woman trope is fine, but so much of the story is so unnecessary.
Not sure if you ever watched the spin off series, “Hana Nochi Hare”, but it was waaaaaaay better story wise from what I remember. I got too busy to watch the last few episodes & I can’t seem to find it now, but the toxicity was toned way down from the parent source. Seems the original artist realized how atrocious the plot was because the manga of the spinoff was much better too morals wise lol

Yeah, the scene in the beginning of the show with the classmates is bad, but I’ve always been way more put off by the versions when the ML tries. I remember it being in the Chinese version & I think the Korean version. I can’t remember if the Thai version included it, but I know the Japanese version never did which I always really liked.

Have you also watched the movie? The absolute best & most satisfying ending to any version (from what I remember, I haven’t watched some of the other versions in a long time lol)
The main plot of the movie is a bit wild & weird, & some lines are a bit outdated & unnecessarily but the ending is so damn good!!

I always find it so wild when people say the Japanese cast isn’t as attractive. I think they’re the most attractive of all the versions lol

I met her back when the movie “Present Still Perfect” was being released. She’s very funny & down to earth! I'm so glad she’s doing so great!!

I think this cast is attractive, although I would agree Tatch is probably the most attractive right next to Phana. I love the previous Phanas, but this one really had a hold on my heart.
I think I definitely would have switched Ming & Forth’s actors though. Like the one that played Forth does also fit appearance wise, but the one who plays Ming doesn’t fit him to me.

I watched this drama yeeeeeears ago & absolutely loved it. It was in my top favs & I would watch it every so often when I’d remember it. It’s hard to find now that the anime is out, but I just rewatched it again after finding it in KissAsian (good luck watching it there, that site is pop up & spam galore now!)

The whole cast is just so great, especially my loves Yamamoto Yusuke & Nishiuchi Mariya! They couldn’t have chosen better actors for Yamada & Shiraishi!!
