All the mentors's faces, they're like, what did I just participate in. And Eric rubbing his head because the results…
He really was one of the few (along some other contestants and the fun sports moments) highlights of this show. It’s a sad situation but at the same a funny one, to see the same surprises and disappointment on the mentor’s faces that the fans feel.

Thank you a lot!! I’m sorry that I made you write all that šŸ˜…

Voting for visual over talent isquite common... but the paidvotes and benefits aren't. I believeit's a Chinese…
Yeah, at least here they got a balanced out team nonetheless, whereas in project 7 no main vocalist made the debut group.

this is such a mess. I wish there were no controversy, I don’t want Hangyul to go through this again!
On Starlight Boys Dec 28, 2024
I guess the hope we have left for a good final ranking lies in Universe League, although I still don’t fully understand how that show works (the teams and the bench, and the exchanges modeled after how sports teams work).
On Starlight Boys Dec 28, 2024
I’m so confused the wiki site shows Sungmin as 9 but y’all watching the show live say it’s Daeul???? I was happy for like one second…

Just to give some perspective, if Guanwoo Yinghao and Jijun didn’t withdraw… let’s say at least two of the would have made it into the debut lineup, which means Donghwa, current 9th place and potentially Zai would have been out. Interesting

Okay, I love XingXing so much, and I’d love to see him debut but at the same time I’m kinda glad he didn’t here. Idk

Uuuhh.. I don’t know, I feel like Xin Che shouldn’t be in the debut lineup…
I have no idea how he is going to keep up on stage with people like for example Junhyuk who is very expressive (dance-wise). It seems to be popular in recent survival shows, visuals over talent. They’ll have to train a lot before debuting officially…

At least, from what I know, the group name is better than the one from Project 7šŸ˜‚šŸ˜ and they have both vocalists and dancers + one good rapper in their lineup which is pretty promising.

I know nothing about this dude Xu Shihuan (I’ve seen the show, but honestly I literally never paid attention to him), but as there are other people that I’d rather see in the final lineup, I can’t say I’m pleased with his ranking.

Anyway, even now, I think the paid voting system and all these benefits (like in some game) were a big mistake from the start, it’s not fair when you can more buy votes if you want and you can pay a lot.
But I wish there won’t be any voting controversy, only because I really don’t want Hangyul to go through that again.

Of course fans shouldn’t have ALL the ā€œpowerā€, most of us don’t have much professional knowledge of dancing, singing and being an idol, which is definitely needed to train and evaluate contestants. Some fans have more unique preferences, than others and some might vote for visual, over talent, like in the case of this show.

I'm really disliking these voting methods anyone else? Like if you're rich you can boost your favs to the top?…
Voting for visual over talent is
quite common... but the paid
votes and benefits aren't. I believe
it's a Chinese survival show thing,
I've never encountered this many
paid votes/ranking boosting gifts in Korean shows voting systems.
Idol survival shows like that, were banned in China, among others because of voting controversies and related food waste.
Fans should be able to vote, because judges may be biased too, and after all fans are who the group will be performing for, but that voting must be done in a better controlled way, without weird sponsorships.
They should have stopped at making people who have premium vip or vip accounts on i q i y i app have a bit more votes to give at once, than people who have regular accounts, instead of having all these weird benefits that you can literally buy votes with. Otherwise, it’s not a fair voting…

my only hope left is from this now HOPE THEY COME UP WITH A GOOD NAME AND DO A LITTLE (VERY LITTLE) CHANGE IN…

Uh… I am glad for Minwook..? Am I?
I’m happy he made it, he’s not really an all rounder, I hope it’ll turn out to be beneficial for him.
And I’m happy for Ma JingXiang, I’ve known him since Boys Planet, I know he isn’t excellent but I like him nonetheless. Besides it’s nice to see a Chinese contestant debut as po01 yet again, although it’s not as legendary (it has been brought to my attention that Scool and Make Mate 1 has a Chinese po1 which is nice. Some of these shows, like Starling Boys or Scool are a direct collaboration with China/Taiwan and there are more contestants from that regions too so it’s creating more possibilities).

But the ranking is… from what I’ve seen on the show, Kyougbae and Yeojun are good, but what is that 7th place??
Kim Sihun should have been 7th! What was the difference in their votes?

What I’m thinking is… how is this group gonna function? No vocalists? In 5th gen high notes are important, vocals have always been important whether we want it or not.
I guess they’ll have to prepare a lot before debuting, but they can’t debut too late because they’d lose ā€œmomentumā€.

Lastly, the group name is hmmm… let’s say, interesting.
Yeah, I have no idea where they come up with these names.
I felt bad for Zb1 when their name was announced but now, I actually think it sounds not that bad, it’s more compact, better as a name for a kpop group.

Anyway, I think I’m going to casually tune in when they debut. Support their activities more at the beginning.
I feel like after all, I’m actually going to end up more focused on the fantasy boys and bae173 members left after these survival shows.

Some people don't like the husbands character šŸ˜‚
I like the actress more than the actor too, but not that much her character in the drama

Oh, well, I’m not informed when it comes to ratings. I don’t really rate anything here because I’m too indecisive. But still, if 7 is bad then something closer to 5 would be even worse, so it’s good that it’s not it..?

Well, there is a serious lack of dialogue in the relationship. It's like they are obsessed with doing what each…
Oh, surely. But when I thought about it, if I were him I’d probably feel fed up with his wife too. I don’t think that pulling the divorce move at that moment was a good decision and
I feel like he is wrongly blaming her so for the accident, but some of his other frustrations I kinda understand.

By the way, they really should just talk calmly and honestly with each other (I know how hard that is sometimes). All would have been better, if they did.
He doesn’t want to try and understand her, and that’s why they keep arguing.
She thinks that she understands everything, because of that she’s doesn’t realize that she might have a wrong approach towards certain things, and that’s why there are conflicts.
Such a mess…

Title Namib Spoiler
When it comes to his career, yeah I agree that he’s a mess. And he’s blaming her for too long for what happened…
He isn’t a good husband, but she isn’t being that good of a wife either. She’s deciding about everything on her own, and taking action without discussing anything with him (she’s probably just feeling responsible for everything and trying to deal with it efficiently but this feelings actually drove her to doing irresponsible things, and she’s not realizing that they should cooperate more + because of that she’s putting too much onto herself, it only stresses her out instead of making her feel and look like she has the situation under control, which was the effect she wanted to achieve).

She seems to categorically not know how to deal with her son’s disability (I feel like she still struggles to accept it, so she treats him as if he really struggled with that too (it was probably really hard for him at the beginning, an accident and a drastic change in his life + seeing how his family is connected to music), while he’s at least partially moved on and just trying to manage life as best as he can, with only issues being the recent bullying at school and his parents arguing so much - solutions of these problems are out of his control regardless of his disability) and she thinks that the best thing to do is to simply orchestrate the boy's entire life as if he were incapable.
(you see, it isn't a good way of thinking, is it?)

She also tried to bribe/pay his classmate with real money (it wasn’t an official deal and with a unreasonably big amount of money at that) to assist her son, which was irresponsible and inappropriate thing to do as an adult.

The father is at least less controlling towards their son and seems to try more to listen to what he has to say (the mother literally just shuts him up in one scene, it was a pretty sweet conversation and I don’t think that her intentions are bad but the outcome might be not good).

Badmouthing your partner in front of your child is bad, I completely agree with you on that. And that spontaneous escapade, to sleep somewhere else for the night as a form of protest/showing anger was a pretty stupid, irresponsible idea but I can’t say that I haven’t seen something like that in real life, and I don’t find it overly bad/outrageous.

The parents main problem is lack of communication in their relationship/family, misplaced anger and unresolved guilt.
They’re both full of flaws, I hope that they’ll get a decent character development (but I’m a bit worried if it’ll happen, we only have 10 episodes left and so many other plots).

Sorry, that this reply is so long. I didn't think that it'd be this long, when I was writing.
