You may like them as actors, and they are good ones, but from what I see fans of the original comic are very disappointed…
Well, thatās a healthy approach. Itās true, after all, itās safe to assume that they are working hard to prepare this movie, even if it doesnāt seem to meet certain standards. Still itās good not to judge beforehand. Thanks
I really donāt see the issue with this show being on MDL (I guess that many users as drama/anime/manga enthusiasts were interested in it from the start) and it may be in huge part american production with many foreign actors, and itās not exactly classic mdl vibe (also because of the actors but like, many characters in one piece are not Japanese (would not be if in real world) so idk what some people were expecting) but itās still officially an adaptation of a Japanese manga after all.
One Piece is here because itās a co-production. As far as I know none of what you listed is a co-production…
Right, but itās an adaptation, it has only eight episodes, not everything is possible to be recreated the same way like in the manga or anime (and some times it the case with live action adaptations, that when they try too depict everything literally the same as the original, itās either to stiff or seems kinda forced/takes away the opportunity created by having real actors on set, or it just doesnāt work out with all the other things that need to be considered while creating such project, and itās okay. As long as it doesnāt violate the original too much or in a inappropriate way). After all, this adaptation is actually very good if you compare it to some other manga adaptations (especially fantasy/supernatural kind). And itās not perfect, maybe it is too shallow for a dedicated original manga fan (like you) but over all itās not a bad work. The amount of involvement Oda had in this series is, as you said not certain but definitely was there (as he approved it, and chose the actors), and itās not really possible to make everything exactly as it was (anime also isnāt, one to one, exact depiction of the manga, is it?), and of course some things had to be compromised, but thatās just the reality of making an adaptation. I really donāt see the issue with this show being on MDL (I guess many users were interested in it from the start) and it may be in big part american production with many foreign actors (that in fact depict well the original characters) but itās still officially an adaptation of a Japanese manga after all. Sorry about grammatical mistakes if there are any.
That it's gonna flop?I feel the same cause there's no saving grace here except for Ahn Hyo Seop, or Nana. It's…
isnāt shin seungho quite good actor too though..? although his character is more secondary (I guess idk). Does he not fit the character? (Im genuinely curious)
This looks amazing! LMH and AHSSilently screaming into a pillow. I can't wait to see these two onscreen.
You may like them as actors, and they are good ones, but from what I see fans of the original comic are very disappointed with LMH, and I can see why. They donāt really fit the characters⦠I mean AHS maybe does, heās just bit too tall I guessā¦
Iām not the manga/comic reader, Iām not even interested in this story⦠but I saw the drawing of the characters, and oh man⦠even i, as a random person am a bit dissatisfied by some of the castā¦. like thereās going to be NO height/buff difference between dokja and jonghyuck, moreover ahn hyoseop is little taller than lee minho - not to mention the latter really doesnāt give the vibe of the character heās supposed to playā¦. (I know itās kinda superficial reason to be mad but as I said, I donāt know the story or the characters well, so their looks is all I can voice my opinion about) .
Edit: for someone who knows almost nothing about this I got quite noisy here⦠might be not so very appropriate
This man and all the other military men were an eye candyšš
agreed! also very interesting and/or likable characters (the ones that got more screen time and story to them), I didnāt like how this season brought so much new characters to the scene but the military men were amazing
I donāt think so, as itās based on a real life person/event, but bromance probably yes
Well yes, I tried to research the actual guy and I didnāt found much besides the fact that he indeed wrote this book. So I donāt think he was gay, and if he were it might just be an undiscovered fact, I donāt want to assume. But I donāt really know.
Itās based on real life person, so no, however it seems bromance/friendship between men is going to be the theme…
Itās in the drama summary: āIt tells the story of noble man Kim Yu, a real person in the Joseon Dynasty who wrote the recipe bookā
and wikipedia says: āSuunjapbang [ā¦] is a cookbook written by Kim-yu [ā¦] in about 1540, during the early period of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea.ā So I think there rather wonāt be any bl plot, just friendship/bromance
