This is common man's show. From their attire to the food they eat and the customers they meet. Not preachy at all. A show with heart.
This is where Japanese Media outshines other Asian demographies.

Episode 06 is such a gem. Must watch tv show.

Its manga to Live-Action - but don't get fooled by that because its almost a new.
The premise is taken from manga but all others things are written like a new.
Making a musical looks interesting but it diesn't gem well at all.

I was excited for the movie but director and writer have changed so many things that rather than Fun and something that you really enjoy, you just keep on pointing out problems.

As it happens with most manga to live action - writer pick a scene from manga and copy paste in Movie without any prose and context which at most just fill the time and givves nothing to the audience.

Manga with its humour, also has purpose and makes you otakus in new perspective. This movie just ignores everything and is made to milk the popularity of manga.
A commercial movie who only purpose is make money by serving anything.

THIS movie does justice to manga. Writer has done such a good job. Director has done good job. Actors have done good job. Overall i'm pretty happy and bit emotional watching this movie. Must watch. This movie has theme, purpose and life.

This is slice of life - love story and by no means its a romance.

Its simple if Source is good quality then you get this kind of top stuff. With source in hand writer's job 75% done right there, then writer has to concentrate which moment, event, scenario to choose and how present it to audience, I'm pretty happy to see that this MANGA got such a good editor and writer.

Its manga to Live Action - most of the time transition from manga to real movie becomes quite difficult as most of the time time writer has do much important stuff within 120minutes. Most writers fail at this job. They provide no context, no prose. and just writer the scene as is it in manga. That's why most manga to live action movies lack character depth,growth and coherent story progression.

Here Writer didn't try to act oversmart and actually respected the manga and mangaka so what we get is such a beautiful 120 minutes of life.

I have watched all 24 episodes. English translation.
Nothing new, nothing original. nothing special. same childhood friends to lovers story.
Same coming from fail romantic relationships and giving a shoulder to cry to your friend. Same cheating side side romantic characters.
Same avoiding each other because of romantic partners of a friend.
Annoying not needed angst and noble idiocy.
Just 24 episodes and still you see story drags in patches a lot.
23rd and 24th episode are almost a waste because of foolish angst that is thrown for drama.
Heroine shines a lot in this show. Heroine is the hero of the show. This show has some heart but writer put no effort at all. Everything looks copy paste from earlier tv shows.
Only if Writer had put more energy into this show it could have turned out quite better.

Time pass. one time watch. skip watch is what this show is.

Director's attempt to fill time with long multi-side shots can be ignored for a episode or 2 but if this cheap trick continuous then it will dampen whatever little mood story creates. This trick also makes you see the theatrics build to create an artificial romance.
As i said earlier - all that childhood nonsense brings more cringe, clearly evident from episode 2. And the way they are presenting the heroine reminds of a few hollywood movies. Its right in your face. Those who loves to remain ignorant will amp their denial and will defend the indefensible and gonna cook their own fiction but 1st week+ trailers are enough to give you the clue where writer and director stand. Its another of those fake inflated korean dramas that run more on theatrics than content.

1st episode shows good potential of the story.
It looks like after a while a credible Korean writer got a new job. Direction is good too.
Everything was apt except for last 1 minute. I say that last 1 minutes actually ruined the whole episode. Many kdramas show good performance in their 1st week of airing but loose all value by 3rd week. I think that is good possibility for this show too the way last minute aired.

Also, Heroine's presentation makes it feel like a woman in her mid 30's aiming for a young collage guy. Both writer and director makes it intentionally. That in a way actually reduces the stature of heroine.

This is Manga to Live Action so better check out manga to get what is what for both main leads. Most of the time movies are unable show the story and characters the way the are.
This movie is made to just milk the manga. Its not even entertaining. Huge fault lies with the writer. As happens with adaptations, writer took this and that scene from manga and forwarded it to director who the just did the shoot. I say this movie is total waste of time, have no purpose or objective.

I'm saying it for a long time that Chang Wook needs better manager and agency. He has a thing for badly written dramas and in many ways all his characters have same personalities. His fans can hope for good manager bringing solid projects for him where he can shine.

1st episode was good.

I haven't seen all episodes. only the translated ones. Its comedy is more of jibes taken at various societal norms. So its not the usual quirk someone expect. Romance is a must to properly run the propaganda

Yes. I think there romantic relationship is the most healthy in the show. Last few episodes were quite quite rushed and most of other stuff was left unsolved.

I have tried many Chinese teen dramas and i can say this one is far better.
It has some meaning and main characters have personality and growth.
Heroine really shines here. I have 12 episodes and episode 08-11 drag because of hero's relationship but episode 12 makes up for it. Surely drama gonna unfold in upcoming episodes and more heartache will be and then we will get back to the present situation of episode 01.

Its so far not the fluff Chinese teen dramas dish out at you.
Heroine is good. Hero as usual. Thankfully only 24 episodes.

The show is an easy and quite enjoyable watch and more so when you not try to look at it as something highly philosophical art. The common issue with audience and mostly fans of these kind of media is that they try to make things up which writer never intended or ever thought about. Audience try to make everything magical, philosophical, intellectual whereas writer's intention was just to make an edible food.
This is far more prominent with this show.
Right now some part of audience is latching onto anything in the show and attaching anything meaningful from real life with it. For writer time jump is a plot tool but for audience it become question of Einstein's theories. Writer is cooking ramen and audience is making it like precious cuisine from emperors time.

Josei Romance. Manga to Live-Action.

This drama is fast and eventful. Ofcourse it has Abe government propaganda and usual stats taken from many women magazines. Highly enjoyable.

This drama makes you think about lot of social issues and pressure they cause.
