Wow first 2 episodes got me hooked. Wasn’t expecting to enjoy this drama so much. FL is beautiful, intelligent, resourceful and a survivor. So refreshing. First BFX in WRTW now this FL. Can C drama plz keep up this trend.! Just hope they don’t dumb the FL later on with out of character actions like in The Autumn Ballad. Great pace and acting, interesting plot and characters, and already feel the strong chemistry between CP. Awesome start and a new addiction after WRTW.

Can’t believe it’s been a year since Vincenzo aired! Never interested in K drama until I saw trailer for this drama and the rest is history. Loved it! Very unique and interesting plot and characters that I was counting the days until new episodes air each week! Amazing CP chemistry even though the romance was subtle I loved their interaction and how well they understood and support each other, working together to bring down the villains. No stupid misunderstandings except at the beginning when they misread the other’s character then you get to see their relationship develop into mutual respect and love. Main leads are such badass and so refreshing to see a strong, intelligent FL yet still quirky. The comedy can at times be over the top but still many hilarious scenes. Superb acting by all including the villains. Their demise was epic.
Ignore the reviews and watch first few episodes to decide for yourself.

I absolutely loved this drama. Remember first watched this when I was in high school with my parents and since then lost count of the number of times I’ve rewatched this drama . Michael and Barbara were an awesome duo back then🥰 Amazing chemistry between CP, my favourite CP of all time even though their screen time was not as significant but when they were together it was mesmerising. Last few minutes of the drama were my favourite.Both intelligent especially ML and interesting plot, perfect pacing with interesting side characters. Anyone know where I can get my hands on English sub version of this drama?

I’ve watched 10 episodes and my one gripe is the FL character. Her actions made me cringe. Personally it gets worse before it gets little better in episode 9. However despite this I am still enjoying the drama and I expect FL character development as series progress…. Hopefully.

Enjoying this drama and good chemistry even though the relationship feels rushed and editing could be better. Good mix of action, mystery, romance and comedy, fight scenes are impressive and “Shen Oink “ the piglet was too adorable in the guard uniform 🤣 My one issue is the FL character is too aggressive in her pursuit of the ML bordering on stalking/obsessive and comes across as childish and selfish. Yes she is clever and isn’t a pushover and I am all for women taking the initiative but some of her actions were unacceptable and put herself and others at risk. Repeatedly accusing or implying ML taking advantage of her in public? It’s not ok if a male did that and it’s no different for a female. Asking him to carry her knowing he was injured? Not wanting to go back to see if her maid and guard were alive after the ambush? So far not a very likeable FL. Just my opinion and hope there is character development.

It’s still a great drama and worth watching. Just stop watching after the first 10mins of the last episode

Half way in the last episode you find out it was the ML mother who killed his father because of her loyalty to the royal consort and the mother kills herself via poison out of guilt and possibly can’t live without royal consort because why kill herself now. For some reason YL and FL figured out the truth yet ML who is the most intelligent had no idea. Then the icing on the cake is FL’s decision to hide the truth from ML by claiming she poisoned his mother out of revenge for what happened to the Qui family and leaves ML again 🤦‍♀️ So ML is miserable without his lover, mother, friend and no job until last few minutes when he reunites with FL from a distance after separated for an unknown number of years. Although happy ending to me it was one of the most stupid endings. Should have ended after first 10mins of last episode.

Maiden Holmes had very consistent plot and ending wrapped up nicely

You sum it up so well 👍 the last few episodes were so inconsistent with the great writing and plot of the previous episodes. It’s rare to have such a strong intelligent FL in c dramas and I love her character but they ruined it by using that ridiculous plot to separate CP in last few minutes. After all they have been through how dumb can the FL be to think ML would believe for a minute that she poisoned his mother out of revenge. It diminished my enjoyment of the drama to the point I felt for just a moment ML was better off without FL .

One of the things I loved about this drama is the development of the CP relationship and how well they understood each other. So for FL to think ML would believe she killed his mother for revenge makes no sense to me. At a time ML needed her the most she leaves him confused and heartbroken. What happened to we will face perils together? And returning because she couldn’t live without him. Did I miss something and there was a valid explanation for her decision? Because if it’s to hide his mother’s secret then it was pointless as ML is intelligent enough to uncover the reason why FL would falsely admit to poisoning his mother. And why ruin such a great character of the adorable mother in law 😕

CP end up together but if you thought ML suffered in episode 28 when FL suddenly told him she was leaving then yes last episode was 10 times worse for ML that I personally thought was illogical and unnecessary. Watch up to first 15mins of episode 34 as the ending and you’ll avoid the frustration that some of us have gone through ☺️

Totally agree . No justice! You can not excuse YL’s actions for the greater good. Even in the last episode he was blackmailing FL to save himself.

Lol I made the same rant earlier. Nice to know it wasn’t just me feeling the disappointment of episode 34. Maybe because I had such high expectations and hopes based on how well written the drama had been so far (except for episode 28) that I am more critical of the ending. I don’t mind angst such as death and separation so long as it’s logical and serves a purpose but not the case for me in episode 34.. Still a gem of a c drama and I would rewatch (90% of the episodes)👍

Hmm…..I don’t know if I should laugh at the absurdity of the last episode or pull my hair out in frustration 🤦‍♀️ the CP end up together so it’s a happy ending but OMG so unsatisfying! Personally the plot went down hill in episode 34. I was hoping my disappointment with FL conflicting actions of I want to be your wife don’t leave me to
abruptly turn around and want to leave ML to be free travelling around the world within one episode 28 would be a one off but nope. Personally I recommend watching the first 10 minutes of episode 34 and leave it at that. Warning spoilers ahead:
* firstly the boy is not the CP couple’s child just some random kid the FL was babysitting at the very end. Served no purpose to the plot whatsoever.
* to suddenly put in a last minute twist half way through last episode of the ML mother willingly kill ML father for the Royal Consort’s sake was unnecessary. She ended up being no better than FL biological mother, someone who cared more for her friendship with her Highness than her husband and son. I knew ML mother must have been the murderer when YL blackmailed FL with a secret about the death of ML’s father. FL admitted she knew what it was and would take it to her grave because it would destroy ML if he knew. Then for FL to leave ML (again!) by claiming she killed his mother for revenge was so friggin ridiculous and unbelievable… wth🤯 how does this make any sense! Yes ML mother killed herself to follow the dead consort🙄
* there is the dreaded time skip of CP being apart. You don’t even know for how many years until they were reunited. Pretty much the last couple of minutes in episode 34 you get to see them reunited and even then it’s from a distance looking at each other. I am so disappointed that’s all we got😩 yes I admit I wanted more fluff ☺️
* how is it that YL gets promoted whilst ML gets demoted after all the evil things YL did to frame ML? YL abused his power and authority and is just as corrupt as the officials he is trying to eliminate. Even at the very end he was blackmailing FL to save his neck.
Such a shame the drama followed typical rushed ending, trying to squeeze more than is necessary. Despite this the drama was overall great and I am sad it is over.

There was another earlier bts where QX was running down the street carrying QM after she got hit by the arrow . Didn’t realise it was QM at the time because it was so quick but the outfit of the woman in his arms is the one QM is wearing when she was shot.

Oh I just realised in episode 29 when ML was in their room after FL left reminiscing about their time together and one of the scene was when they released the lantern. Was wondering what was FL’s wish when it had shown ML’s wish was for QY to be free from perils and harm. Turns out QY’s wish was for LY’s wish to come true…. this typical C drama lantern CP wish never fails ☺️

Yes episode 29 though bitter sweet made up for the disaster of an ending in episode 28. They should have skipped that bit in episode 28 and went with episode 29. Also they don’t separate for long.
