Wow episode 17 what a twist. I had a feeling the mother and monk were related because it seem so out of character for her to have an affair and for the father to kill her because of that. He had always seemed so righteous and now I feel so sorry for him. Never expected mother to kill herself to save the family. QY back to her ruthless intelligent self after momentary over reactions during her grief. Knew exactly what ML was up to and YL behind it. Glad she finally cut ties with QX although harsh it had to be done and the Qiu brothers redeemed themselves by supporting FL father. Now more time for ML & FL😍

Episode 13

It does have P&P vibes which is my favourite novel and I’ve watched all adaptations. This is the romantic plot that I am addicted and drawn to. Didn’t know ML was wearing contacts but he is charismatic and that voice! Just wished makeup wasn’t so pale.

It was a beautiful poignant scene😍 Well written and executed where we can see her genuine sincerity and his astonishment and regret. I love the fact ML decided not to give FL the key before he found out FL was the girl he saved. Meant he has fallen for the woman that she is now and not because of a childhood crush. Such a small gesture but so much meaning.

💯 agree. The progression of the relationship and character development is just perfect. The slow burn reminds me of Under The Power.

Finally new episodes! I am so glad:
1. ML decided to keep the key before he found out FL was the girl he saved. It shows he has fallen for the woman that she is now and the fact she is the young girl is just the icing on the cake.
2. FL character continues to stay strong and fight for her beliefs no matter what! Doesn’t hesitate to call people out for their actions past or present, friend, family or foe. It might seem petty and selfish but nothing wrong with having no pity or sympathy for those who don’t deserve it.
3. Main lead relationship is still slowly developing. The scene where she thanked him on the mountain top was beautifully done. You can see both are starting to trust each other even more especially the ML. Doesn’t hesitate to help her investigate her adopted mother’s death.
4. It doesn’t look like ML marriage to Qui Min will happen thank goodness. Hate that trope! Just a filler and never has any purpose other than to frustrate the viewers.
Love love this drama and can not wait for more ML and FL interactions and crazy antics. They need more screen time 😍

Definitely rare to find a couple so in sync. Their interactions are so natural , entertaining with an underlying tension. Drama spent time building their relationship which is so refreshing. Waiting for next episodes is driving me crazy lol

Yes agree this has same vibe as Under The Power (UTP) and I loved that drama along with Maiden Holmes where FLs are intelligent and not the damsel in distress, naive type. Plus great chemistry between leads. However this drama so far is now my favourite:-) UTP was dragging in certain parts especially the second couple plot.

I love this drama! It’s been so long since I’ve watched a costume C drama without fast forwarding. Where I binge watch all episodes and suffer withdrawal symptoms when I have to s wait for next episodes. Plot is intriguing, pace is perfect. Great chemistry between ML and FL. Their interactions and bickering are so entertaining. Episode 9 was hilarious. We get to see their relationship and attraction grow and both are not perfect which makes it more relatable. This has to be my favourite FL. Intelligent, independent , feisty without being annoying, fights for her beliefs and gets even with those who wrong her but within boundaries. Thumbs up to the writer, director and actors……so far at 10 episodes. Praying this continues and not follow the typical trend of ridiculous misunderstandings, dumb decisions, FL turning into a simpleton and a rushed ending.

Appreciate many of the female characters can kick ass in this drama both good and evil.. Made up for LR’s clinginess and constant “ErLang” although this has toned down in last few episodes thank goodness. The fact Lord Chu is still alive after attempted assignation when so many have been killed off makes me suspect he is the mastermind behind the clan.

@ChineseDramaFan, just wanted to say your review above was great, thorough and totally agree with you. I loved this drama. It’s so hilarious and I was never bored because of the unique plot (single mum), the lovable characters, the great acting and chemistry between leads. ML acting is so versatile. He’s so expressive and believable. Add an FL who is intelligent, kind but ruthless to those who deserves it and I was hooked.
