I see the FL’s POV as being distorted and one dimensional which to me is a character flaw in the FL and can only hope there is character development in remaining episodes. ML has every right to ask FL why she doesn’t trust him after she just attempted to kill him thinking he murdered her master. He believed in her innocence and risked everything for her. Trust in someone to not be capable of murder is not comparable to trusting someone who continuously sneak out (especially to see another man) putting herself in possible danger and causing others to worry. That is reckless and selfish. FL would not trust ML if the situation was reversed and that’s exactly the case given she followed him at night. I don’t expect the FL to know Prince An’s feelings towards her or that he is evil that would be asking too much of the writers. But a little less irrational and a little more common sense and intelligence in the FL would be appreciated. FL should know ML looking for a wife would have been decreed by the King. There was a reason why the king would only let her be a concubine. Yet she had no trust or faith in the ML to think of a way out. The lack of communication and misunderstandings between the otp is frustrating especially when you compare her sister’s relationship with Little Marquis. However I still enjoyed watching the last 2 episodes which had a few hilarious scenes and watching the princess get caught was very satisfying. ML telling the princess straight out “I don’t like you” lol
Episode 21 & 22 will please those waiting to see more interactions between otp including 2 not so passionate kisses. I like that the ML gave FL the cold shoulder to make her grovel although FL thought he was “petty” for it. ....**sigh**... Personally FL still comes across as being bratty and reckless with a misplace sense of entitlement. Escaping the palace numerous times, meeting Prince An then accusing ML of not trusting her. Whilst ML super clever to use his jinx as an excuse to not have to marry someone else.
Seriously these writers need to stop with the crazy FL overreactions to kill the one they love on the basis of the flimsiest evidence! It makes the FL look so stupid. Even though I saw the trailer and knew what to expect it still frustrates the hell out of me to watch it. What makes it worse is the fact the FL was wrongly accused of murder so she should have known better. To try and stab the ML and then demand he tell the truth... ..wth? FL still jumping to wrong conclusions at end of episode 20 and somehow ends up making it all about her. ML has the patience of a saint.

Have you watched Maiden Holmes? One of the few ancient c dramas where I found the FL to be intelligent and “normal”. Except for one moment in lapse of judgment that was quickly resolved she remained consistent.
Wish they hadn’t killed Yanzhi she had the coolest skills and a unique character. So protective of ML and trust him implicitly. Looking forward to watching more romantic moments between otp (left it very late in the drama) and curious to see how this ends. If only iqiyi release trailers for the remaining episodes! I fast forward scenes between princess and Wen You. Seriously not interested in where I think they are going with that relationship. There are no redeeming qualities in the princess to make me feel she deserves a happy ending. As for Wen You I am just hoping he somehow redeems himself at the end. That his actions so far are not what it seems.

@Hermine totally agree. I’ve stopped watching this drama after skipping scenes from episode 11 onwards. I couldn’t persevere any longer. There are no characters or relationships that I am rooting for except for the talking bird. Unfortunately the bird doesnt have enough screen time to keep me interested.
I watched up to episode 11 then started fast forwarding scenes and even skipping episodes which tells me it’s time to drop the drama. This wasn’t for me. I spent more time being annoyed, frustrated, cringing and bewildered than enjoying the drama. Everything just dragged and became repetitive. The fake pregnancy dragged, the jealous Ru’er antics dragged and the otp relationship dragged. I enjoy a slow burn but not one sided till nearly end of the drama. I felt the ML had too much makeup (the lipstick) which was distracting. I couldn’t see much chemistry between otp or character development. ML still bullies FL and FL seemed to get dumber. I didn’t like the secondary couple because of the Song princess character. Omg her voice, facial expressions, the sulks, the whining.... it was so over the top and annoying. Do writers and directors actually think men find that cute and attractive? I did enjoy the parent’s relationship and the dad was adorable. My favourite character is the talking bird. It was hilarious, says what it means with just a few words. The bird deserved more screen time! I read this drama has a happy ending so might pick it up once all episodes are subbed and skip to the last episode.

I actually think that cliff scene is sometime after the scene in episode 29 where SML cut FL wrist etc. it looked like the bad guys still tried to kill them (there was a clip with dudes in black peering over the cliff) OTP get to spend alone time with each other while recovering ... cue the romantic scenes they’ve been teasing us with

She isn’t used to being intimate plus only starting to fall for ML so would be awkward. I don’t believe they actually did the deed on the wedding night lol because there was a scene where he slept on the floor in his wedding outfit . Just wished they didn’t waste so many episodes on FL and SML relationship and then keep replaying their scenes now they are apart

Well it looks like the prime minister is the baddie in the mask so I’m pretty certain he will be killed so you’ll get your wish:-) however looks like the Princess gets what she wants after all from clips I’ve seen . The SML kisses her under the moonlight. How SML can develop feelings for her is beyond me but then he is pretty spineless to not tell FL he was married in person.
I think Wen You will die, probably trying to save Qing Hong. I think death will be better for him than seeing…
From the trailers and MV clips that I have seen Wen You seems to develop feelings for the princess. There was a scene of him kissing her under the stars
Enjoying this drama so far, has interesting characters and relationships except for the love rival with the Princess and SML. But why did all of FL family have to die! Such a loving family. FL relationship with her father so sweet. Really liked his character and also Yanzhi the ML’s female body guard. She has cool skills and can kick arse. Waiting for FL and ML relationship to progress and if ML ever learns to fight! It looks like it’s the FL that learns the 7 swordsmanship and the princess’ grandfather is the baddie. I am never invested or interested in FL and SML relationship because it won’t go anywhere and just wasting precious screen time between FL and ML. FL doesn’t cut ties with SML till episode 24 that’s nearly 3/4 of the drama.
I’ve never been interested in watching k dramas so haven’t ever watched one. Only watch Wuxia C dramas. Saw the still for this drama and it gave me Twilight vibes, read the synopsis and it got me intrigued, watched the first episode and it got me hooked so now I’m screwed with only 2 episodes a week! Besides the supernatural theme there is romance, action, mystery add in the subtle humour, random freaky/scary scenes that remind me of a horror movie along with great acting and you get a very entertaining on the edge of your seat drama. FL is brave and super intelligent, ML has a cool tough exterior but is a softy underneath and their interactions are adorable. Excited to see how their relationship progress/develop. Hope it has a happy ending!
