The actor who plays Feng Chang has aged well since acting in Princess Wei Young. He actually looks so damn different I had to rewatch old dramas just to confirm it was really him in WRTW.
wetv aired a handful of trailers and things are starting to get interesting apart from the evil queen wanting to get rid of Lanxi (this scenerio has been overplayed in too may ancient chinese dramas) that it is getting stale.
many in the comments are saying Lanxi does not know Bai Fengxi true identity, I don't believe that one bit, please be reminded Lanxi heads an underground network of spies (fountain abode) so he does triple checks, studies and predicts other royals/sects personality, traits and movements but not of his so called martial rival turned supposedly to be girlfriend? does not make sense to me.

my personal opinion, she did not deliver the evil two face snake she suppose to be like - the lady who acted as su jin or even xuan nu in eternal love now that is evil in private which made me hate their guts but loving without being sicky when in public. the minute queen came onto the scene I could tell she is 'the bad guy among bad guys'. to me this actress should have been the angst aunt living next door to the tianshuang sect screaming out the window everyday for the sect members to keep quiet.
I think she has a a good sour look to her, like someone unhappy and who will never be happy.
look of misery like a old spinster who doesn't like the kid screaming at the table next to her then yes somewhat but not evil enough. her overall acting is very forced.
Is it just me but I think the wicked queen of yongzhou is over acting in many scenes. Her expressions of angry/torture look so forced - like someone who is going through constipation, of all the middle age actresses to play evil she got selected.
Drama changed a lot so no one know for sure, but in the novel, it is a HE story.
am aware that many film directors follow to about 80% of the designated novel but there is hope for an actual wedding (that has been due for quite a few wuxia dramas) and happy ending to boot.

am amused by the fact that female lead rosy is mostly playing roles where food is involved - gu shengnan (chef in dating in the kitchen), princess in the romance of tiger and rose (the leads are named after fruits/there is hot pot & wine for meals/ beans for meaning of love porridge), sanggi in a female enters the imperial college (she is always eating/drinking wine) and now in WRTW she is a female martial artist who loves to eat yet again.
I hope their crush and admiration will help stop the war once they find out BFX real identity. 😀

binge watched and my thoughts : - the emperor was in the drama empress of china (2014) so cliche & I hate his guts in this drama too. - the costumes are so mediocre and the make up is no better considering this team that did WRTW also produced Love and Redemption & Ancient Love Poetry am disappointed (all the small details count). - fighting scenes are top notch so far as this production team are known to rely heavily on gaming CGI.
as this drama continues it has fascinating twists and turns - Bai Fengxi has not one prince but 3 (!!!) who supposedly admired her. I hope there won't be a duel or something in that context for Fengxi's hand as this drama progresses.
