yes that was what I mentioned there is another the actor who played king bai zhi of the fox clan and the actress who was a snake spirit worked as a maid with bai qian in eternal love and currently are in WRTW.

which is refreshing. most of the drama have such scheming, evil women who will go through any lengths to get the man like - plot, poison, disfigure etc so am glad that qi wu wants to be a career women not just a trophy wife to a prince and she recognized that forcing herself onto lanxi won't bring her much benefit so why not help a fellow sister instead.

thanks for filling me in so now at least I understand why this particular work is pretty sub par in comparison to the other productions done by the same company.

Is this what actually happened? the director and screen writer left?
I felt that this series was not the complete work of the director who is known to be intense and particular about how he films his series. His production are mostly top notch - love and redemption and ancient love poetry are evidence enough.
that is why I am surprised with the style and quality of this series being so mediocre.

I believe leon and liu are from jaywalk but it all comes down to the director, if he likes a certain actor then the chances of that particular person returning for said director's projects is very high.
Leon is in 2 of this director projects - ancient love poetry and WRTW will not be surprised if he is now in another series produced by same company.

heard that alot of scenes were cut either due to restrictions or the production company was not satisfied with the scenes and just didn't bother to put it in the series.

I have thus I mentioned I 'hope this won't drag for 16 eps' emphasize on the hope part. :-)
that being said most productions companies has reused the method of - interesting first 5 eps, drag 15 - 20 episode for one arc (sibling rivalry or love rivalry) then leads are in love for only one damn ep before they are torn apart then drag for about 5-8 episodes before a huge fight / war breaks out killing almost everyone then lovers reunite/die together or one dies leaving the other alone in the final 2 eps.

I think its because Yu Wuyuan had nothing to do with him directly until he started to show some of his true colours in eps 20 onwards with feng ju.
those that are not lanxi's direct rival and don't mess with him or the state he just learns the basic but has an open file on them.

the episodes are currently dragging that is why we just want some sort of action.

My thoughts almost on the same page.

After today's episode there is basically 18 eps left before the drama ends and we are still getting petty thievery / accusations and the like.
however I think the budget went to maybe paying actor fees, top notch CGI and building sets. Their costumes are really mediocre and their make up is so bad I just can't take all those pasty faces much longer.

I hope there isn't a drag the arc for next 16 eps then kill everyone off in the last 2 eps. If such happened would hang up my hat to ancient chinese/wuxia drama for awhile.

I just felt amused by the comments on youtube so put my thoughts here.

this is just my opinion but I believe ms huan reported to the mentor because of jealousy and used the dying queen's last wishes as a sort of stabbing point at the mentor.
royalty have been known to take their maids as concubines so there was always a chance if Lanxi reciprocated ms huan feelings she could be something more than just a maid?

I thought the same then I rewatched the episode where Lanxi & Bai Fengxi learned/mastered the jade power and old taiyin did say he practised all his life and could not completely grasp the entirety of the jade power. I guess time will tell if Yu Wuyuan really did get all of the power or it backfires on him eventually.

after watching today's episode, I noticed quite a few Eternal Love actors are in WRTW.

most impressed is the older guy who plays cruel heavenly emperor (eternal love), strict army commandant (a female enters the imperial college) to righteous leader of martial sect (WRTW). I really like him playing roles of funny, strict yet fair father figure.
least impressed is the guy who is WRTW Feng Ju (i think his name is Liu?), his acting is not convincing and he has a hard time playing the clueless bad guy preferred him when he was in eternal love, eternal love of dream and the flame's daughter as the good guy.
I also quite like Leon's (Huang Chao) acting he has played good to bad to good sort of bad characters and can really switch it up (there is a maturity in his current acting).

this is my opinion and observation I won't be fangirling just for the main leads. It takes more than 2 people to make a drama / movie. :-)

what I am saying is, the prince of qingzhou claims he in love with bai fengxi to lanxi as a test (protective brothers from ancient to modern times always set up test for their sisters boyfriends just depends if it is a small prank or a big test) not that he is going to bring someone's head to the table.

I believe the Hei & Bai Fengxi vs Yu Wuyuan arc will come into light episode 20 onwards because of minister feng being poisoned.

WRTW has 40 episodes and the first half has been pretty slow moving, the production has to condense royal sibling rivalry, sect internal rivalry/love/war into the 40 eps.

its called brotherly test - similar to when daughters go to senior prom and the father or brothers will meet the prom date with guns or a bloodied head to threaten the poor guy into obeying the rules - take her to prom, dance have a good time, respect boundaries and bring her back home on time. :-)

am stating what to my opinion makes sense.
To be ignorant while being the head of a spy network is too dumb a move to make unless he wants the person he is acting ignorant with to think he really is that dumb to begin with.

In my earlier comment, I mentioned that Lanxi does checks on people/sect/royals so why did he not check his rival of almost 10 years?
that is the point nothing else about whether lanxi knows everything or nothing.
