Actually, the decision is not up to him. It's up to his agency, the two main platforms - Tencent and iQiYi. It's…
That's ok. I understand it's not easy for international fans to learn these details, so tried to explain the issue here. Yeah, it's really a serious issue so far since his debut. Obviously, the platforms will promote their artists in the new drama, and his agency just sold him without trying to fight for his fair rights. What's more serious is, it would happen again and again in his future dramas. So his fandom is trying to influence public opinions in social medias, to get his agency's attention.
Actually, the decision is not up to him. It's up to his agency, the two main platforms - Tencent and iQiYi. It's…
Usually, producer/production company, agency, and platform is a triangle interest community, which is common sense in c-ent. They have interest exchange in a drama contract. I'm not blaming his agency on my stand. It's just an industry fact. Not only TPR, but also happen in many other dramas. That's why there are so many dramas with popular actors but unsatisfying scripts or productions. It's a game of the investors and stakeholders.
For the side characters in TPR, the cast of crown prince lover called He Qiu is from ZLH's agency. Another actress Lu Yu Xiao, the SFL in My Journey to You is from his agency. Now, the SML in ZLH's current filming drama- Our Generation is from his agency too.
And many artists have sub-contracts with other agencies, so even if they are not directly from ZLH's agency, the agency can still benefit from them. And artists have 'Betting Agreement' with platforms. The platforms can insert their signed artists to the dramas. So that they can reach win-win situation. It's a very complex interest network. can't explain clearly in a few sentences.
Btw, I have no problem with the artists, please don't get me wrong.
I think we will see some of his unfaithfull fans gonna unfollow him after he made it clear to take the role hahaBefore…
Actually, the decision is not up to him. It's up to his agency, the two main platforms - Tencent and iQiYi. It's the investors' and stakeholders' game, ZLH is only a poor employee without decision-making authority.
Even though he's been working hard from 2022 without any gap between filming dramas, with serious neck and lower back pain, he still hasn't had time to take a well rest under the doctor's advice.
As he's the most popular artist in his agency and brings the most money, his agency only sees him as a money-making tool. In The Princess Royal, his agency inserted other artists in it, and gave more screen-time to the SML than the ML to promote other artists.
It also happened to his commercial endorsements. His agency let other artists in the agency to share many of his endorsements.
His agency also didn't try to fight for his billing rank in accepting dramas, making him a joke in other fandoms.
That's why his fans feel unfair and sad, boycotting his new drama - Chasing the Jade. It maybe another TPR, his agency and the two platforms will probably insert their new artists in it, sacrificing ZLH's screen time and character story.
He could have the chance to accept other better scripts with better directors and production companies. But it's really hard to change at the moment, unless his contract ends.
The FL in this drama is a mortal reincarnation of Yue Mi (Shang Gu's bestie) in ALP, she died in ALP, so Tian…
Just have a quick search. ALP has 3 production companies, one of them is the one of TLI. They probably have contracts to decide the copyright distribution. Yeah, Jing Yuan is still kept in the drama. I like Jing Yuan.
May I know how this story is connected to Ancient Love Poetry and the Last Immortal? I know its the same author…
The FL in this drama is a mortal reincarnation of Yue Mi (Shang Gu's bestie) in ALP, she died in ALP, so Tian Qi started to look for her in this story. The ML in this story is Tian Qi, but due to an accident, he lost spiritual power and memory , became a human too. TLI is the story of Shang Gu's Son.
These three dramas are in the same universe. But due to copyright, this drama and TLI can't keep the novel plots highly related to ALP, though they are from the same author, but drama adaptation copyright were sold to different production companies. So TLI and this drama have to cut off the relationship with ALP and made themselves independent stories. They probably won't mention the FL is Yue Mi and ML is Tian Qi in the drama.
is there any similar costume cdramas to this that is mainly focus on women having power and supporting each other…
Blossoms in Adversity. It's a popular drama aired this year about female powers and female growth. Good story and happy ending! It's the most similar one.
Looks like it's coming at the end of this month! I like the novel. Looking forward to this one. Having a costume drama drought for a month after Love's Rebellion.
https://x.com/ForCdrama/status/1832287530470842727?t=JAxYuMjeexJkDMdlQswPNg&s=19is he really going to do this…
His fandom is anti this drama because the novel is boring and unrecognized, the director never directed big dramas, and the Production company never made costume dramas before. His agency forced him to accept it Only for money. He declined it once, but his agency still trying to force him. Poor Linghe... (Though Tian Xi Wei is a pretty actress, hope they pair in another drama)
Tbh, TPR’s plot is boring, even if you don’t compare with SOKP. It’s up to you. The main leads in both dramas have good acting. It’s just the problem of the TPR producer who ruined the drama.
I just finished reading the novel, a good youth story, warm friendship and slow-burn romance. Happy endig with a daughter! My favourite part is their childhood, and high school period. They were born in 1990, but story mostly happen in the 2000s.
