MJTY is a special case. It was brought forward in advance to fill the void of iQiYi before SOKP was released. And the producer/director is very work-holic😂, always stay up all night. So it took only 5 months. It's better not to rush a drama tbh. Hope it would be a good quality one!

Due to the 40 episodes limit, the drama can't spend much time on the past life, the flashbacks seem confusing if you don't know the background. The novel is very long, but no boring moments. It has excellent political intrigues, and great depth and variety of characters' personalities and chemistry. For me, it's the best time-travelling novel adapted historical drama so far. Hope you give another try as you like Bailu, I like her character in the story the most. Her career development has improved to another level this year because of this drama. 😊
