Luke is so handsome but his acting is not good tbh. his scenes are awkward and ruin the immersion of the show at times. the person they casted to play his mom comes off as more engaging when they have their convos. I probably would enjoy his arc more if the partner they casted for him was not problematic and unlikeable.

i agree with most of your post, but factually i have correct you on that there were indeed black Minstrel shows actors. The McDaniel Sisters (who frequently played maids) started a Minstrel show of their own called the "McDaniel Sisters Company" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etta_McDaniel
In one of her dramas starring her and Mond. She basically painted herself brown to mock people with dark skin, take away proper representation etc. Its HIGHLY offensive to a lot of people but i don't expect someone like you to understand.

Basically in their society its Eurasian >>> Light skin Chinese >> Light skin SEA >>> Dark skin Chinese >>> Dark skin SEA >>>> Blasian or any admixture with a darker non-asian race is at the bottom. In interview with a pageant contestant named Samina (thai blasian), she was bullied by other dark skin Thais because they saw her as inferior since she was not only dark but also not a full asian. So thats why we should never equate the struggle of a blasian with a dark skin asian. Two different experiences.

In Love By Chance, they had a gay dark skin southern thai man act like a minstrel show where as all the other lead chinese characters on the show are portrayed as "normal" and then New Siwaj proceeded to have one of the main characters (Tin) act "disgusted" towards him. Notice how there was ZERO controversy over it.
there was another GMMTV series he directed (Sky in Your Heart) where they did a "light skin" saviour trope (think Nice White Lady parody from Madtv https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVF-nirSq5s). NONE of the lead characters had dark skin and one of the lead character's job was to go out and be a teacher somewhere. Despite their racist intention to erase darker skin people from any "important" lead roles on the show, New Siwaj still had the nerve to make all the kids they had to "educate" all have dark skin. These dark skin kids had ZERO significance to the plot other than to help the lead light skin teacher look more "heroic" and more important. They basically used those dark skin kids as a plot device to make the lead light skin characters look superior and spread this narrative that only light skin people can save them from being uneducated.
He also frequently prefers to cast eurasians and ignores blasians. New Siwaj either erases people with dark skin or uses them as unimportant tools to help light skin people look better in comparison. He knows he can get away with it because the BL community doesn't care. Yet if they see a gay trope they don't like, all of a sudden people come out with the pitchforks. Racism is NORMALIZED in BL shows.

that whole thing was a PR stunt first of all. I recognize when they wanna orchestrate a situation in order to create a buzz or create an image thats sympathetic to the actor. So no, i don't care about that fake harassment situation at all. I'm very self aware when it comes to noise marketing tactics in entertainment media.
