I mean at least for the drama I would assume it’s because she doesn’t want anyone to know about her whereabouts…
Also to add to this, she didn't want her deputy generals knowing she's a woman, in case they betray her identity before she's carried out her plans. This is completely valid because we saw how misogynistic and patriarchal her last living deptuty general, li kuang, is. He would've been the first to blab.
which part of the novel did the ML turn our FL into an otter to protect her and their relationship starts to tread on furry territory?? 😂😂 speaking based on the trailer for episode 9 btw lol
FL is sooo real for just wanting to sleep and do nothing after being a corporate slave for so long lmao I remember when I took some time off in between jobs, I was basically a hermit and a recluse and it was the best time of my life T_T
Also I can't believe we've already reached the sharing a bed trope, albeit without the usual sexual tension that comes with it but I'm happy with the progression nontheless!
ok his deal in the novel: He's a total lackey for the evil chancellor, yes. Because of his messed up history.…
So does XJ become victorious at the end? like how does the novel end? I really can't stand Chu Zhao and I'd love to see him get knocked down a few pegs haha
I still don't understand chu zhao's motivations? Is he just a lackey for that little leprechaun chancellor Xu or does he have other motives? cause we know that the Xu guy hates the Xiao family, and I'd even go as far to say he's probably the reason why He Yan's reinforcements were delayed.... I'm open to spoilers from the book so pls share them!! I love political intrigues lmao
Thoughts about the new emperor succeeding yan han~
I like that the empress dowager picked the young prince sui (the one who didn’t want to talk) to be emperor and yan chi to be his regent emperor until prince sui comes of age. It’s because he’s the only previous emperor’s surviving child (we know yan han is the imposter but the court ministers and the rest of the people don’t know so to them he was just killed in a rebellion). And to them, yan li isn’t in the line of succession because he was only granted that title and doesn’t actually have royal blood (even though, again, we know that isn’t true).
I assume the empress dowager did it this way to keep the court and the people stable because if they publicise him being fake, then all his decisions and policies will be questioned. He did some really evil shit yes, but he was nonetheless a diligent and fair monarch who tried his best to be a good emperor to his people.
Prince Sui is also extremely intelligent and cunning because he fooled everyone into thinking he was dumb and a mute for years. He waited until he met someone who he knew would be able to rectify everything to reveal that he’s actually been purposefully laying low and biding his time. So I think he as the best choice for emperor and am pretty happy with this decision.

Guysss based on this, yan chi and shen wan get married this ep AHHHH they're wearing wedding clothes and they look so cute omg T_T
I swear, Prince Cheng's dumb little secretive smirks every time he thinks something goes his way are so annoying.…
you should watch him as wei xiao in the prisoner of beauty, he plays a character that's extremely likeable and distrustful (my two fave combos lol) for this reason I'm unable to hate the character he plays here
Now why would Yan Chi give this very suspicious and clearly guilty emperor the tiger tally to command the shuoxi…
You're right, and I also now think that giving the tally away will allow YC to see how the emperor will choose to use it (if he does) and whether this will support their building case against the emperor/crown prince/prince cheng
Now why would Yan Chi give this very suspicious and clearly guilty emperor the tiger tally to command the shuoxi…
Oh yeah no I totally get you, it's just frustrating to watch as a viewer because we already know the emperor's true nature and we forget that Yan Chi is still only speculating the truth so he's making these moves based on what he knows about the emperor.
There's been theories saying that he's actually an identical twin of the now dead crown prince... this theory…
No, he's still the empress dowager's son, he was sent out of the palace to a farmland (I don't know why) but he's still royalty and the son of the former emperor.
Now why would Yan Chi give this very suspicious and clearly guilty emperor the tiger tally to command the shuoxi army??? I know they're only following the novel with this but like you know damn well that you've just handed away the very last weapon you had in your artillery to someone who's been wary of your very loyal father like I just don't get this thinking at all.
If the emperor decides that you're getting too nosy about the Prince Jin case, he can simply wave that tally around and have soldiers from the shuoxi army come and murder your asses and no one would blink an eye because he has that damn tiger tally lmaooo I only hope that he gave him a fake tally or something
