Became a TINY bit bored with eps 19 and 20 because it feels like the plot's going side ways with them being stuck in the palace, we started out super strong so I hope this isn't an indication that the show's fizzling out now
So the emperor would rather prep the dumbass and incompetent Nan Rui to rule the kingdom rather than the very competent and very strong Nan Heng?? He's not a very wise king is he lol and someone else pointed this out below as well but I really think that the emperor knows that Nan Heng will usurp the throne from him in the future which is why he's been so heartless to him, like I don't think it's some deep hidden reason like he cares about him or some bullshit like that. I think it's just as surface level as that...
I don't understand people who say that song cong moves on too quick. I feel like a large demographic of people who watch these youth/coming of age dramas think that the characters in them HAVE to only end up with/date one person throughout the show and it's complete nonsense imo.
It's so normal irl to fall in love and break up with multiple people throughout our 20's, we're still at a stage where we're discovering ourselves and gradually growing. Sometimes things don't end up working out with those people and that's completely ok. In fact I think first and long time relationships tlike XIChi's and HuanEr was the exception rather than the rule where a person will be in multiple relationships throughout their life.
I think Song Cong and QiQi tried their best to love and understand e/o but the differences in their personalities and lives was too big that they outgrew each other. Whereas Song Cong and Du Man gradually went from a relationship that was just by chance (them being school classmates, then going to uni together, then meeting at the same hospital) allowed them to build a bond based on shared values, lessons, experiences, and circumstances (most importantly there's no bullshit between them). That's why a relationship like theirs bears a chance to actually last and flourish.
That's why I think everyone ended up with exactly who they should've ended up with.
Wow!!!!!!!!! This drama is proving SOOO many haters wrong I love it!!!!!!
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not but I absolutely LOVE how they didn't just have Mi Ran move on from her ex so quickly, it just made it more realistic and heartbreaking when she spent as long as she did, agonising and overthinking about everything her ex did after their break up, I mean who wouldn't?? He broke up with her by citing one of her biggest insecurities - the person whose love she longs for doesn't find her sexually/physically appealing.
When you spend long enough thinking and telling yourself that no matter what you do and how vastly you change your personality/appearance, you'll never be 'loved' by the person you desire (which is obviously complete bullshit because our own self-love shouldn't be so reliant on what others think of us). This to me is soooo relatable because I've struggled with self/body image issues for really fucking long, and I'm sure many people can relate as well. I'm gald she's learning to put herself first and that she's re-starting her fitness journey with a healthier mindset because working out for other people's sake can never be sustained, we need to do it for our own betterment.
I love her character so much, I don't even care if she ends up with anyone romantically, I just want her to be happy and to love herself 🥹❤️
Imagine being Jung Jun Won. Experienced. Great actor. Good voice. 180cm tall good height. Good skin, looks fantastc…
I feel like so many kdrama fans these days don't even care about the quality of acting any more. If the ML doesn't measure up to their ultra specific and highly unrealistic beauty standards, then they don't like the characters they play.
It's like a sick fantasy where if they can't imagine themselves falling in love with the actor (literally just by their looks) then they must not be worth getting paired up with anyone in the show. In my opinion, it's usually people who have absolutely no real life experience with the opposite gender and whose expsoure to romance is solely through their phone screen so it creates these shallow and delusional beauty standards.
That stupid prick Professor Cho pmo sooo bad like how do you think your mentees will learn anything when you only criticise and belittle them??? Also the yelling has got to stop, like who the fk do you think you are???
People like him love going on power trips and shoving their authority in everything and I've noticed that he's only a bully with the women residents but when he interacts with the other men (both patients and Drs) around him, he somehow remembers his manners and actually apologises to them... what a misogynistic piece of shit
i thought that i would like Cha Ji Won since usually i ship the introverted one, but to be honest, i find his…
I think it's because his attempts to get between Bani and Yeol (two people who clearly have very strong feelings for e/o) are getting really old and annoying. Bani clearly only sees him as a friend, like there wasn't a single moment so far where I felt anything more than purely platonic vibes from her towards him. Yeol as a character (in my opinion) also seems to have more substance than Won, like I can't help but root for him despire the questionable decisions he's made so far. Whereas in Won's case, he's kind of just there, his character feels very flat and isn't very fleshed out and nothing about him really sways me to root for him...
Wait I still don't fully understand this, is her real husband gay/queer? I think that was alluded to, but just hasn't been clearly said, why is she still chasing him if she knows that he'll never love her like that and that he chose his, frankly, very nobel organisation over her and his own family?? If I were her I'd totally start an affair with the storyteller I mean look how far he's willing to go for her and he always puts her first
This isn't really very important input but everytime Hirukawa comes on my screen I can't help but think "wow this guy has terrible posture" 😭😭 the way he's always hunched over lmaoooo
"I've always loved/liked senpai" lmaooo why are you telling US that go and tell him that!! Miyata didn't want to break up, he said that because he wanted Takashi to fight for him so he was probably gobsmacked when he easily agreed that they should take a break. But like what do you expect after you constantly spoke about how you'll break up eventually and how much you don't trust each other???
Anyways it's honestly a chore to like either of them, Miyata has no self respect and Takashi acts super sus anytime one of his ex hookups shows up and literally provides NO comfort to Miyata who always thinks of the worst case scenario.... episode 5 was literally just angst and vibes for NO reason.
Wait I;m struggling to understand what Miyata means when he tells Iwanaga that he betrayed him in high school, like am I missing something?? Isn't Miyata the one who left Iwanaga waiting at the train station?
Also, this might be unpopular knowing the demographic that lurks on MDL but I'm actually finding Shiraishi really lovable (obvs other than the time he nearly fucked over the two MC's by not sharing a work deadline), like I love how much he likes Iwanaga and how much he despises Miyata despite not even knowing him well, I crack up every time he insults him lmaooo. It's a very one-sided beef that's for sure!
It's also extremely refreshing to see the third person in a BL 'triangle' not be a woman who's always portrayed in the most insufferable (and lowkey misogynistic) light as if she's some kind of hurdle the two men have to overcome to finally get together, which is a very problematic plot I've noticed a lot of BLs love to use and abuse. So far, there's only been one female character, and her portrayal actually felt realistic, she saw that she wasn't appreciated or loved so she cut her losses instantly!
Sakae is very bonless, how are you going to let your ex speak to your current partner like that?? Ngl if I was Soga, Mizuki would've already been slapped into next week the moment he showed what a rude little prick he was. I need sakae to grow a pair and put Mizuki in his place, like you're an ex for a reason damn
One thing Honey Lee will never fail to do, is DELIVER with her acting cause why am I tearing up at her grieving for her bother 🥹 And also her insane face card....
