When did they change from Mansuang to this plot for Shine? I was quite surprised to see this new story 😅
I think it was confirmed in December. While it probably disappointed many people, it will also work as a great way to attract new fans, bc they won’t have to connect with a previous story to understand what’s going on
I’m speaking from the heart here, what I just watched made me incredibly proud. KinnPorsche was my introduction to BL, and since then, no other series has come close. I fell in love not just with the story and universe, but with the vibe, the acting, the production, and the clear passion the actors poured into it. Normally, after a great show, I move on and focus on the plot and characters rather than the actors. But with KP, I felt a real need to learn more about the people behind it, especially Apo, whose journey I’ve decided to follow closely. Since KP, I’ve struggled to enjoy other BLs. Either the plot doesn’t resonate with me, or the acting and direction fall flat. Watching KP raised my expectations, and I realized I might not be the target audience for most of the genre. Still, I held out hope for the new MileApo series, because I trust Apo and BOC to deliver something meaningful. I was actually glad they changed direction from Man Suang, I wanted to see them in fresh roles with a new concept, and Shine delivered just that. From the moment I heard the synopsis, I saw its potential. In a BL space often filled with idealized worlds, this political, period-driven story promised to explore identity and queerness on a deeper level, and it did judging by the trailer. Their performances are mature, versatile, and incredibly well-executed. I’m especially excited to see the scenes shot in Paris (where I live!), and I truly admire their dedication to filming overseas. It’s bold, and it paid off. While I expect fewer NC scenes than in KP, this story already feels mature and hotter in a way lol. I was also keeping an eye on The BL Mandate, its political angle made it feel like a potential rival, but Shine’s trailer blew it out of the water. It promises diversity in characters, themes, and tone. I really hope Shine gets the recognition it deserves, not just from BL-focused awards, but mainstream ones too. In a space where hype sometimes overshadows quality, Shine feels like a standout. I’m genuinely proud and excited for what’s to come.
same omg I thought I was the only one, he’s the worst character for me so far
Jimmy Ohm may looks out of place at moments (fair) but they are way more interesting rn. I hope Ava’s acting improves more in the next episodes but she herself seems way more interesting, and her character carries more depth that we’ll probably see once Khanin and Charon become an established item
I somehow feel people are overhyping RAMILPAYTAI scenes. Their scenes are either so random or in bits & pieces.…
they are def random and weird (the whole serie is) but I’m being honest, they caught me off guards and they somehow have more tension, so I think that’s why me and many are more invested in them. Add the fact that we barely see them compared to the other 2, so their moments feel more « exclusive », which attract more interest than ZNN you’ve been seeing since ep1
I would love to like Khanin, but I really have trouble understanding him or relating to him. Which is a shame,…
agree, probably writing issues, it seems like they didn’t care abt Khanin feelings when it came to those topics. Her’s either way reacting for one scene to show us emotion and never talk abt it again, or he doesn’t even seem to care
I agree. I dropped it when it was released and I still can't find the motivation to give it another try 💀
Listen Kid, rate is as you want but don’t call overated something you didn’t finish, simple. MDL is full of dumb people that don’t know how to use words it seems, just say you dropped and found it boring but I don’t see why it’s overated if you didn’t see why people rated it that way. Also it’s rated 8, far less good BLs are rated way higher so focus on them. This BL, based on BL rating is pretty much, rightfully rated
WTF ???? You’re kidding !!! Hwve you really watched it !?? I hghly doubt it !! Because it has an actual plot.…
I think it’s part of the think that’s it’s crazy. They all are bad and kill people as a job, tbh it was expected bc idk how Vegas grew but if his way to intimidate or control Porsche is to try to SA him, that says a lot abt the environnement he’s in
I agree. I dropped it when it was released and I still can't find the motivation to give it another try 💀
you can’t call overated something you didn’t watch fully, you understand? you rate something you actually watched and had reflexion on it, not something you stopped after a few eps
best episode so far, althought it still feels slow but I see a better execution. The music is all over the top at times, like they don’t fit in some scenes. It’s as if the music is another actor, it brings the emotion of the character some actors struggle to portray clearly, so it looks unnatural. Anyway, that sequence with the second couple was interesting, and I loved the music there. Looking forward this couple bc the first one… I think I have an issue with Kanin and he’s lowkey spoiling the romance for me but let’s see
