NF paraphrases almost everything and adds/subtracks words. Like they add completely different sentences as well... It happens with their originals, but also license bought dramas.
Okay, so little history lesson - background - which might help with understanding the series. Taejo - 1st king of Joseon dynasty which he himself estabilished, couldn't decide which son should he name as a successor. His advisor Jeong Do Jeon advised the king that he should name his favorite son as his succesor, and not the most competent, which is the ML of this series - Bang Won. Bang Won was truly an incredible prince and helped his father building the country, so of course he felt wronged. But, Taejo listened to his advisor and his favorite son, prince Bang Sok was named as the crown prince.
After the death of Taejo's first wife and their sons, the advisor Jeong Do Jeon wanted to kill Bang Won, because he politicaly supported Taejo's second wife and wanted their kids to suceed the throne, but Bang Won learned about this and immediatly excecuted Jeong Do Jeon and sons of the second wife of Taejo - queen Sindeok.
We call this a "A first strife of princes''.
One would think that after this Taejo would name Bang Won as his heir, but no no. Taejo named his other son Bang Gwa as his successor and basically, with the strife Taejo really realized that his sons were willing to kill themselves for the throne.
In the end, Bang Gwa abdicated and gave the throne to his brother Bang Won, we can assume that he feared that Bang Won would kill him for the throne.
With this I am taking out my notes as always....me + sageuk = history lesson! Let's see if they created a fake fantasy or stuck to the actual history. On the first note MDL once again not romanizing the names properly even though the new rules have been stated very clearly - HISTORICAL FIGURES ladies and gents!

I have nursing degrees which I ended with accomplishing a doctorate degree (suffered 7 years in total) and Korean History is my second major, which I am currently doing thesis for, so this is my....hmmm 6th thesis? Just like others said below, every subber of other languages translates from English, but u are right, sometimes it looks like an AI translation....Like what's with the pronouns and added/subtracted words....
