Honestly, NF keeps hiring bad translators and it makes me incredibly mad, because so much context is lost in their translations. It's always like paraphrasing than an actual translation. When I watch with someone I always pause and fix it, but than a 60 minute episode becomes 3 hour episode ๐คฃ

I get that sometimes the object is omitted in Korean, but there are ''clues'' in Korean which make the topic of the sentence known - in this, it was Ismael being the oppressors, but English doesn't work like this. Years, for freaking years NF delivers miss-translations, but people just shrug it off and when they mistranslate something big as this, rather than going to the source of problem - Netflix - they go and bother actors, crew and TV station.

MBC never checks on NF translation, like....no TV station ever checks that, and this is not issue with only MBC, or South Korea. Everyone literally ''shits'' on the translations and it is maddening, because I have witnessed truly terrible translation work. MBC and others will address the public only if there was issue on the Korean side of the audience - it always has been like this. And as you can see, on their side, the news coverage makes sense. Yeah, it would be nice if MBC or NF spoke up, but I doubt it's gonna happen. They effed up their translations for years, so why speak out now?
About the second part, it is first and foremost for Korean audience, because if it wasn't there wouldn't be a show. This show was on NF but keep in mind, it wasn't their original, so yeah, I think each country that produces something first and foremost thinks about their local audience first, than their international audience.
