Since ML will wake up in tomorrow's episode from the preview, I think I will binge watch ep 14-17 later. I've…
I cannot understand how such a dumb King could ever get the power. He's scheming, allowing his wife to poison and bully his son's choice for a wife. But no sign of intelligence. There were so many clues that there is something rotten with the Second Prince and his wife's uncle/father (whatever) traitor, the Queen is always mixing in politics and army's business, how cannot he see that? How high his IQ? He even has time to witness the trials when there is a war, while Zi Qing negotiating successfully for the country he should lead. It's so absurd that I would laugh. It's like a story for children. I like Zhang Han, he is an exquisite actor, but I suppose there is no good script these days for a series. He's the one giving some quality to this series through his acting.
They establish pretty early that Kohei doesn't think he needs sign. To the point of being actively annoyed when…
Not only accepting but a necessity. The doctor told him that he's gonna lose his hearing completelly, progressively. Later, it will be that problem with the Cochlear implant.
She's definitely not the usual "third party who also likes the MC" trope in most BL's. Her character is supposed…
I do not compare her to Kohei. As you say, people are different. It's just the way she behaves it's unproductive to herself. There is nothing good for her being like that. She's not rude only to Taichi, she's rude even to Kohei because she knows he has feelings for Taichi. She can see that, there is no doubt. The way she treats Taichi is rude to Kohei. He keeps telling her how great Taichi is and she keeps creating a lot of stupid situations. This is why I say she's very lucky to have a friend like Kohei. Maybe another one would have stopped being with her, even if that person can 100% understand her.
Thanks both to you and @Pepsicola for your replies. I really appreciate them :)

And this would never help you, on the contrary. What's the point to be impared AND a jerk? Is anybody at fault that you have this problem? Has anybody an obligation to put up with you because you cannot hear? Would this kind of attitude help to getting better?
She's grown up enough to think. But she doesn't. I believe it's really tough, but with that attitude she has nothing but to lose. She's actually very lucky with a friend like Kohei, which is a really great guy. And with Taichi, who has a natural understanding of people with her kind of problems.
It's difficult to watch her like that. People don't watch a movie/series thinking technically, making a character…
It's about both what I think and feel. Not thinking 1 second about "side character, main character, resolution, etc". I am too deep in the story to have that kind of thoughts. Trying to understand, for example, Maya's behaviour. Now, that I've read the manga, I give her some "attenuating circumstances" because I could see her tenderness behind that attitude. But nothing yet in the series, if I haven't read it I had the same position about her.
I never use the word "bitch", neither in real life. I think and feel the same like you about it. But young people posting here have no reservations in the language they use. I suppose "bitch" is a normal word for them, without further thinking.

You stopped quoting what I said at a wrong point. If you are fair, do it in a fair manner. I was explaining that the most of the people don't watch a movie/series and dissecting that way what they see. Maybe you do. Good for you. But I, for example, enjoy what I watch without thinking "This is a side character, useful to build the story. This is a main character and this is only the build up phase of the story .... Oh, this is the resolution". It's not my job to do that, there are enough pro thinking those things for me. My only thing is to watch and make an opinion about what I see, as a consumer of their product. If the movie shows something that makes an impression on me and makes me reflect on that, then I do it. But in ep. 7 and 8, what to think about Maya? You say you still wouldn't call her "bitch" on ep.1. Well... maybe "shewolf" is better?
Re: Maya, I really wish people would think about how typical storytelling works?Maya is introduced as an abrasive…
It's difficult to watch her like that. People don't watch a movie/series thinking technically, making a character analysis: "This is a side character, her role is to build up the story". C'mon, people, you and other 2-3 here. You read the manga (I finally could find time to do that, too) and you knew already all the plot and what's next. You knew Maya and that is why you could keep your heads "cold" when is about her, watching her detachedly.
This series is so well done that people get in there, living with the characters. Their acting is brilliant and the story is told very well. The purpose IS to make us feel in the way we do. To suffer with the characters and to get mad with Maya (Ryuu is 1000 times worse, btw). When you knew all about Maya and the path her character is walking on, all we could see was a stupid, rude, angry girl with a lot of behavioral issues and being very judgemental about people that didn't deserve her crap. Viewers would get annoyed with her in any case, even if Taichi and Kohei hadn't become so loved by them. She's in her own class. But that means the actress playing Maya is very good at her job.
I know many reactions were WAY out of proportion and what they've done is unpardonable. The world is full of freaks and insane ppl.
Episode 8 impression:Maya’s character is starting to make more sense to me now, though I’m still not okay…
Taichi and Maya have a lot in common, actually. I finally have been able to read the manga. Taichi in the series is much more quiet and composed, while in the manga he' s looking like a very impetuous, hyperactive and with his head in the clouds, hungry all the time child :) In ep. 8 the best example is that scene where he runs on his friend's bike after he just grabs it, without waiting to hear that there are no breaks :) He's all the time in this kind of situations. And especially not yet ready for romance, he is very naive and I could say even a thick head when it's about this kind of thing. But having a really, really good heart, ready to help at any time, even Maya - he knows she doesn't like him but this is not a reason for him not to get into fights to protect her. In the manga he calls her "the shewolf" :) Because she "shows her teeth" to him, being very territorial and protective with Kohei and saying painful things very easily, like "biting" the others with her words (I believe). Kohei is much more adult, they are on different stages of development. I don't want to spoil what is coming next. But yes, there were those sweet moments and there will come more :) Kohei IS a really awesome guy, very thoughtful and very loving.
I've also been angry with Maya, still am, but in the end we will see her maybe in a different light. She is like a link ring between Taichi and his future decisions, without she being implied too much.
I think people focus too much on the possibility that she's a romantic rival, but not what she adds to the story…
@Truth Dares @Grooty You both make a psychological profile on Maya and try to explain her "flaws". All these are not excuses to behave like a completely as*hole to people she doesn't know. Whatever the way she was "molded", that's not excusable to attack like that people she met once. Defence mechanism is used when there is a threat, but I haven't seen her being threatened by Taichi or any of his friends. They were all nice to her, she was invited out and they wanted to integrate her in their circle. We don't know yet anything about the environment she grew up or about some cruel situations she was in. We only see a stupid girl behaving like an ass. You come with some excuses because you read the novel/manga but I didn't. I don't think I deserve to be named "extremely superficial and knee jerk quick to judge". To have a kind of handicap is not a reason to make this kind of judgement about others "It seems that guy has nothing to be worried about. It must be nice to be so carefree". Who's judgemental here? Especially she can't even hear all that boy said to her, she only GUESSED what he said. He was nice and invited her out again. Going on guessing and making already conclusions about the nature and the life of somebody you've met first yesterday? Even with a handicap or not, there is no excuse. And being SO rude to Taichi, those notes were not made for her. Maybe she needs another style of notes, people learn in different ways. Kohei could use them and gave them further to her because he thought they are useful, otherwise he didn't offer them to her. Sorry, but I don't agree with any of you.
You know, it's a cliche in this kind of BL. Girls are bitches and toxic. I hate when I see it. They are jealous…
I know what you mean. But I am tired with this evil female character cliche in BLs. All females are like that. Mothers, mothers-in-law, ex'es that want to return, obsessed women able to do whatever to "catch" the guy even if he is not interested, etc.
You know, it's a cliche in this kind of BL. Girls are bitches and toxic. I hate when I see it. They are jealous…
In addition, she does all possible to not let them spend time together, she wants Kohei far away from Taichi, dragging Kohei after her, finding different excuses. Maybe in the manga/novel she has no romantic feelings for Kohei but here it's something different. At least this is my impression. The fact that she wants Kohei for herself all day and far from Taichi it's strange. And the fact that she was hurt a lot by the world is not an excuse to pour her bitterness on Taichi and his friends. Taichi tried to explain her the bad quality of his last year's notes, she even didn't want to listen. All in all she is acting evil. A real "good female character" :))))
You know, it's a cliche in this kind of BL. Girls are bitches and toxic. I hate when I see it. They are jealous…
"How a good female character should be" :)))) Judgemental over people she doesn't know anything about? She just throws a look to somebody and comes with conclusions about their lives and characters. Do you think a "good female character" should be described like this? Just because somebody has strong opinions, that doesn't mean that person is clever.
Can I say it….Maya is a bitch and I may have to fast forward her scenes. I hate intrusive people who hide behind…
You know, it's a cliche in this kind of BL. Girls are bitches and toxic. I hate when I see it. They are jealous and scheming, self centered and evil. I would like to see a production where girls are not run down. He almost told her he's in love with Taichi but she cannot accept it. I've never seen a good girl in a BL being honest and open. They all try to change the guy, like this kind of thing could be changed.
What i mean its noona love not cinderella mean its 14 years old noona
So what? I believe that this age gap issue people have in that part of the world it's just rubbish. It's time to change mentalities and come to be along with the rest of the world in the 21st century. Most of people there have prejudice about age gaps, homosexuality preconceived ideas, rich-poor relationships with parents buying out the poor one forcing their own child to an arranged marriage, a loveless life of hell ever after. There are so many marriages where the wife is much older than the husband and still going after many years together (including mine-21 years together). Maybe some men love their older wives/partners for who they are, not necessarily for the looks?
Øøøøwww.... didn't you argue with me 1 month ago because I said that producers were mixing too much from backstage?…
Sometimes, age has advantages. As I can see, you have no business with them. I am not fighting with you. Unfortunatelly, fighting for you means just being rude and offensive. I was like you once. You have to learn a lot to become like me. A piece of advice: sometimes is better to shut it, talking too much reveals your lack of education and intellect. With these being told.... Have a good life!
