I love that she was talented, kindhearted AND strong. That is such a rarity! Kindness is generally equated with weakness, especially in lead characters.

I watched as it aired, loved it. Hahaha I was also obsessed with the recipes, and did manage to make 2 of the easier ones. So good!!!

A sweet payback reflecting the early days when Nozue was so supportive and encouraging . Talk about a mutual admiration society! LOVE. Every. Second.

I’ve rewatched it, loved it just as much. I will say the Tomato story still sucker punches me! I always have to go pet my dogs. I do feel the writers took a bit too long bringing them back together. However, it was unique in that they were not stagnant during that time, especially Yu Hao. I liked the quiet, steady character growth though it was more Yu Hao than KeLan. She was so stuck in her guilt and fear, which is never easy to face. . That aside, I loved the sweet story with a side of delicious food. Also shout out to MengMeng & Wen Xing. Best uncle & Auntie ever.

So agree. People seriously underestimate the paralyzing power of fear. Also emotional ghosts don’t just disappear; reactions to such aren’t rational. It takes a lot to face them. None of this had been touched season 1 as it was all too new. Yes, it took time. In this instant world we live in, some things do still take time and yes. They ARE worth it.
Kudos to the actors; these were not easy roles.

I could talk about this series for hours! These actors are so delightful. An epi 2 favorite of mine is where they are talking about a meeting with Ishida-san, and neither of them realizes that each is jealously protecting the other. Love love love the deep admiration, respect,
they have for
each other which fuels the wickedly savvy and smooth flirting . Epi 5, when Nozue says his could kiss him everywhere, I thought Togawa was going to spontaneously combust. Perfection! We need more of this kind of witty, intelligent, subtly sensual writing.

Bravo! Well said. Agree wholeheartedly! LOVE this series., Leaves me with a smile and a happy heart. Oh, but those faces. I could watch their faces all day, especially Togawa. A favorite scene to rewatch is in epi 3, when Nozue is cooking in Togawa’s apartment. It was like Togawa couldn’t believe the love of his life was there. Exquisite.

My thought exactly, only said far more eloquently than I could have! I could watch their faces all day. A favorite scene is in epi 3 when Nozue goes to Togawa’s home. The micro expressions through that scene are pure gold, especially from Togawa. They were so comfortable, It felt so intimate. This is going to have a permanent spot at the top of my rewatch/perk me up list.

Hahaha especially if they said they kissed a mole on my neck, which is what I think Nozue did. I noticed the one on his neck in the first scene of epi 1, located about where Togawa kissed. I remembered Kurosawa swooning over one on Adachi’s neck in Cherry Magic. 😍☺️
