I've watched 47 episodes so far. Slices of life have never been my cup of tea. I find them boring. I enjoy historical dramas with war, martial arts, political twists, passionate romance and a lot of action and adventures. I love chinese culture. Yet I don't like slow paced dramas. The OSTs are always important to me. At first I watched only 14 episodes and then I took a break, because I was very bored with the plot. I couldn't focus. I would fall asleep without any action and OST in the background. The light is warm, but dark and it makes me sleepy just by watching it. Still I was encouraged by lots of positive opinions and the high rating so after a break I picked this drama again. And then again. With the help of a skip button I made it till the ep 47. And sadly I need to tell that the story is still boring like it was in the beginning. The main couple are very sweet and there are some nice scenes. I was very excited to see the ML making it into the military - I was excited by thinking about some action! And there was.... but only a few. So... there are still 26 episodes left and I don't know if I should continue... I just thought that I would stop by here, leave this comment for people who don't enjoy slices of life - if you find it boring, then drop it. Not everyone's cup of tea, definitely.
And to the fans of this drama - I'm not going to rate this one, no matter if I finish it or drop it. I think that I can't really appreciate the production. I can see that the cast did a great job, the drama is well written and very well done, so I wouldn't want to give it a low rating (I feel it's highly unfair), yet I can't give it any high rating since the drama made me feel so bored and sleepy. I can see the reason people enjoy it. I'm so sad that I couldn't find it as interesting as you do.
I have the impression that it was a rather small scale, pathetic attempt. Are they over-dramatising it here?
About the hanging sword... I thought YZ just tried to terrify Lao Ai to make him revolt faster. He couldn't kill him unless he revolts. He knew when was the right time to unreveal that he knows the Queen's secret. He made the right actions to manipulate the person's thinking.
I am really sad to see the old rascal go and quite touched by Ying Zheng's lingering regard for him although this…
The moment Lv Buwei lost his position as a Prime Minister, it went a bit down. I just find it a little boring at the moment. But Zhao Gao made an appearance. He isn't suppossed to be active in politics for some time, but he will definitely make the story interesting later. I'm waiting for the the battles to unify the kingdoms.
I don't understand that the people are rating this drama so soon. I think 10 episodes are released. It is a total…
In my opinion, early ratings are helpful for people who hesitate about watching the drama. The rating shows how watchers enjoy the drama so far. I often look first at the rating and then read the comments.
"Sorry, we don’t have the copy right of this content in your region yet. We will fight this for you on our greatest effort!" - And now I don't feel like a WeTV's VIP anymore >_< What are the chances that they will get the licence for other countries? Did it happen before that the drama wasn't allowed to be watched in other countries but they allowed it later?
(there is a spoiler for ep 41) Do you know where can I read more about Ying Xi (Lord Weiyang of Qin). I tried to look for some information because his character seems important, but I cannot find it anywhere. Did Ying Zheng really cut off his arm? That was soo shocking!
I've seen 3 episodes and this is really great! Lovely and warm romance with not too slow, not too fast pacing. Nice production. The ML is a cold type at first, but when you get to know him you discover that he has such a great heart <3 I want to see him in love with the FL! ^^ The chemistry is going to be awesome ^^ I'm sure the next episodes will be better. If you hesitate about starting this drama, give it a chance and watch even 1 episode. I think that 1 is enough to fell in love with it. But it does get better and I can tell that the good stuff is coming! ^^
They should have just cast a teenager or a man in his early 20. It would be easier to age him later. At first…
I feel lost at the moment. Because of the rule of 40 eps for drama, this one had to be splitted into 2 parts. Due to my knowledge this rule came to live in the beginning of 2020, yet this year there were c-dramas that were way longer than 40 eps (Eternal Love of Dream - 56 eps, The Song of Glory - 56 eps, Winter Begonia - 49 eps, Love and Redemption - 59 episodes). Why some dramas have to be splitted, when others don't? And why they cut episodes to make the drama shorter, if they could leave it longer and split it into the parts?
