Thereโs something about Go YounJung. She never looks cringey when she acts cute. She looks so natural.
If you watch some interviews and behind videos you can see her real life personality is similar. She's a walking sunshine. Not to mention her big eyes are like a sparkling black hole.๐
Lol no. Dorami is the only saving grace of this drama. Cha Muhee has gone down to Oh Hani level, even Yoo Meri…
Well, there were a lot of funny scenes, but if you didn't find it funny, that's a different matter.
To be honest, those scenes were funnier than most scenes in actual romcoms. But this is about personal taste. Just because I like it and you don't doesn't mean it's not there though. The comedy part wasn't just her being embarrassing.
Yes, he kept rejecting her, yet, since EP1 he still visited her in the hospital 3 times, asked her manager about her, sent mixed signals, in Japan he literally asked her out, and said, she liked her, helped her without her knowledge, and so many other things.
I'm not sure what "romance" is for you, but romance is not just acting cute and kissing scenes.
For me, romance is 100% about the small details. That's more important than 10000 "I love you".
But it literally reflected the main story. Even ML's uncle or whoever was Kim Won Hae's character said: "Everyone speaks a different language".
It's not a metaphor, they couldn't translate their love properly, because both had their own issues. It didn't happen till they finally understood each other perfectly.
Lol no. Dorami is the only saving grace of this drama. Cha Muhee has gone down to Oh Hani level, even Yoo Meri…
No offense, but so many people have said this and I'm so bored with clueless Kdrama fans. Romcom doesn't mean the drama has to be romance and comedy 24/7 in every episode.
In this drama there were a LOT of romantic and comedic scenes, ergo it's a romcom, but also it's a DRAMA and a PSYCHOLOGICAL story as well. It's not their fault that MDL can't add the the other two genres. That's why I asked them. Wonder if they're gonna change it.
And no, Netflix didn't lie, the trailer alone says it all. You can see the darker and melodramatic elements of the show.
I understood the genre just fine. My criticism is about execution, not confusion. If pointing out weak narrative…
LR was "well excecuted and genres were seamlessly blended"? Are you sure you watched Lovely Runner? It was a MESS. Not only the crime story but the time traveling plot as well, especially in the finale. Now, that was a load of bs. The so called writer literally messed up the plot big time in the finale. Just read my review and you're gonna understand what I'm talking about. She messed up the most basic time travel rule. Even rookies know you can't do that. The writer couldn't stick to her own rules.
At least "CTLBT" was consistent, the writers didn't break their own rules. And yes, the genre changed for obvious reasons. What did you expect from a show where the FL has 2 personalities, suffers from childhood trauma and other things? Acting cutesy all the time like in "LR"? Be serious please.
I'm not arguing with you because you didn't like the drama, my only problem is that you and some other people can't comprehend the most basic things. Like why the story changes or characters do things etc.
Let's be blatantly honest. Romcom fans don't care about the story, that's why shows like "LR" were a hit, but the minute they watch something that's a bit more complex, they criticize the writing even tho they usually defend romcoms by saying "It's just a romcom, it's not that deep."
I understood the genre just fine. My criticism is about execution, not confusion. If pointing out weak narrative…
You literally said: "I could not figure out what genre they were aiming forโwas it horror, psychological, or romance? "
They used all of these, except maybe horror because that was just her movie. This isn't a typical cutesy romcom. This is a Drama, Psychological, Romance and Comedy. The exaction was just fine. Maybe you just wanted Romance and Comedy but that's not their fault.
I don't care if you like it or not, that's your opinion and taste, but so many people act as if the writers didn't know what they wanted. Most of you thought this is another copy and paste full romcom, even tho the trailer already spoiled the darker elements of the drama. Not to mention, 99% of the Kdramas always use multiple genres. Even romcoms.
For example: "Lovely Runner" was a Romcom, Thriller and Sci-fi but I didn't see anyone blaming the writer for that even though it was a really weak script.
"Can they listen, absolutely. However, their suggestions could harm you as again, they are likely not qualified…
True, but that's why I said, at the end of the day, the heavy lifting is done by the family or someone else close to the patient. Doctors are there to diagnose, that's basically all they do.
Sure, I can't diagnose anyone, I'm not a doctor, but in many cases you can help a mentally ill person without a doctor. Unless it's a really serious problem and they need medication or something else.
People with DID, like FL, usually have to live in hospice care. Unless it's not as serious or the doctor just doesn't care. Like I said, my friend has DID for 20+ years and he has to take shots every month.
He didn't have any childhood trauma or anything like that, so no one knows why or how his DID developed.
As I said, every case is different, and that's why I think Muhui's case is not unrealistic.
they need him to say exactly what he feels or else they don't understand. children in need of spoon-feeding
Yes, sadly. I get if people don't like it, but blaming the writers and characters is insane. Also, it's not like in typical romcoms the romance isn't dragged out for "decades". Even if they get together in the last couple of episodes the writer usually breaks them apart before the finale.๐ At least that didn't happen in this one.
People do dumb things, especially in a relationship, so this was pretty realistic. Especially if we understand that both have personal problems, and one is a huge star too. I was actually surprised they didn't make a big fuss in the media about their dating. I was waiting for that plot but not in a good way.
He was cautious because she is an actress and that might case a stir in his personal life. Also because he was…
Most people can only see the surface, that's why romcoms are the most watched Kdramas. They don't have to think about the story that much. Sad, really.
I'm sorry, but I'm so done with people blaming Muhui and calling her irritating, because keep chasing Hojin. Why are Kdrama fans such hypocrites?
Hojin literally asked her out in Japan, when she had the accident, she visited her 3 TIMES, and asked about her from her manager. That's not something a random guy does to someone who he doesn't like. Let's not act as if he didn't send her mixed signals. He had nothing to do with the other woman, he just loved her, it was more like an obsession than love. That's all. It was clear since the 1st EP that he already liked Muhui, he was just in the denial phase. That's why he kept rejecting her.
He kept saying he doesn't want anything from Muhui, yet he always kept looking after her, helped her etc.
We should make a betting site for Kdrama fans. I could win so much money because of the protective fangirls.๐
"Can they listen, absolutely. However, their suggestions could harm you as again, they are likely not qualified…
I know it's different, and neither can help more than a family member or a friend. Doctors don't care about you, and don't know you at all. The mentioned examples above are the proof.
I'm not saying every doctor is crap, but saying family members can't help someone with mental illness is ridiculous. At the end of the day, it's family who keep protecting and helping the person, not doctors. They only see the doctor once in a while.
That's why I don't like or even hate when people praise doctors in cases like this, because the heavy lifting is done by the family, and that's a fact.
I mean, if you have a good family or friends who care about you. If you don't have anyone, well, you're pretty much fcked. Just like our FL was till she met our guy.
That's why I said it's not unrealistic, it's just not usual.
"Can they listen, absolutely. However, their suggestions could harm you as again, they are likely not qualified…
It doesn't matter if you call me out or not, it won't change my opinion. I've had multiple encounters with the so called EXPERTS and all they do is ask for money, sit in a room for an hour and that's all.
You can be ignorant and think doctors can solve everything by listening to you, but family and friends can do that for free. There's literally no difference between the two other than doctors aren't free. I have a friend who has DID, and after 20+ years they still haven't helped him at all, he just has to take his medicine and that's all. And no, he still has big problems with his DID. My 8 year old nephew had metal health issues as well, my sister paid for a doctor, he struggled to be with other kids. The doctors said it's nothing serious, he's just too young, he will grow out of it. After he left that school, he's totally fine.
I can mention 100s of cases when doctors didn't help their patients, they made their health issues worse. Including my own grandmother's. So let's not act as if talking to a doctor can solve everything.
You said "Close relatives are likely not qualified to understand what it takes to treat you."
But the funny thing is, they're more qualified than any other doctor, because they know you.
For new viewers: Turn on the ENGLISH sub on Netflix, not the ENGLISH CC.
Also, ignore the comments, because most people are only trashing the show because they thought this is a typical cute romcom, even tho the trailer already spoiled its dark side as well. It's a romance and a comedy, but also a realistic drama about real life struggles and mental health issues and childhood trauma.
So, no, this is not just a fun, fluffy romcom. I don't get why people act as if Kdramas always had 1 genre.
If you can handle slow-burn romance, a dark past, and real life struggles with a story that is a bit more complex than a usual romcom, this is for you. If you can't, just skip it now. You can find 100s of copy and paste romcoms anyway.

It was like the worst table tennis match ever.๐
