That's fair, but I think you might be misunderstanding it. I'm not sure if you've seen the trailer, but it's hinted…
Yeah, I know, acting and liking actors is different. I rated some of my biggest faves' dramas lower than most people, because the script was bad. Many people love "Descendants of the Sun" but I dropped it after 2 episodes, even tho I love all the actors, and I don't drop many things, especially if my faves are in it.
It's funny, because I watched a lot of crap shows, but sometimes I can still finish it, but with DoTS my expectation was too high, and it's not a brain-off fantasy, I'm more judgmental with more realistic dramas.
Alchemy of Souls, for example. It was a lot of fun, but if I want to rate the script alone, it was average. Especially the 2nd season.
Because people love to throw around 10s or call every other drama they see a βmasterpieceβ. So for them, under…
Yeah, that's why I don't care about ratings. There are a few people here who actually write decent reviews, so if I'm not that interested in something, I can rely on them.
At least, MDL is not as bad as VIKI where all you can see is dramas with 9+ ratings.π

I don't watch trailers because of spoilers, unless it's something I don't want to watch, and I need to judge if it's worth the watch.
I had a feeling they're not real siblings. To be fair, in historic dramas, it's not an unusual thing to see relatives getting married.
The acting in dramas are usually decent, so the only thing I care about is the writing. I don't give a higher score, because I like the actors, like many people do. That's the main reason we can see so many overrated drama on MDL. People rate their faves and some cute love scenes, not the whole show. Or give low rating if they hate someone or some parts of the story, even if it makes sense. That's why I don't care about ratings. I watched so many show and movie with low ratings and I still liked those.
Why people acting as if 7.9 rating is low? This is why you should NEVER trust MDL ratings. 7.9 is basically 8/10, and it's above average or good. Let's be real, at least 90% of drama on MDL don't deserve higher score than 7/10, yet most of them has higher than 8.
Anyway, I'm interested in the show, but not sure if I want to see a romance story with half-siblings. It feels weird as hell.
Don't always believe the reviews and see if for yourself. The fact that this one has a much higher ratings of…
I was talking about TV ratings, because you mentioned that. Honestly, I liked both seasons, S1 8/10 and S2 7/10, but they could've done the whole story in 20 episodes easily. I feel like I watched 30 episodes of slice of life fantasy. Not that I mind, but in S2 I didn't feel we're going anywhere. To be fair, yes, S2 has a darker tone and I liked that more, but I loved the comedic side of S1 and the banter between the 2 main lead. The romantic chemistry was better in S2, but the overall chemistry was better in S1, and some decisions in S2 were weird.
Comparing the 2 seasons makes no sense, it's just one show. Even the cast is the same except Somin, but that was obvious from the start, but I do miss her in S2.

Don't believe what other people say, but also don't let ratings fool you, either. Season 1 was better. S2 was basically a non-stop drama about nothing.
Since when a CEO has a standard "look"? π I mean, there's not much difference between her or Kim Jiwon for…
Okay, but this time she's gonna prove she can do this role as well. I mean, being a CEO is probably one of the easiest roles. Just wear expensive clothes and act cold.π
And how many times Min Young should play the same role? I prefer actors who do different roles.
Never said my taste is superior. A genre can't be superior anyway, because it's about taste. Some people prefer horror, some people love typical cheesy romcoms with the prince and the princess, and some people love scifi, fantasy or badass action. Sohee did almost all of these, so you can't say she's a "Typical".
So, they shouldn't defended him? It's innocent until proven guilty and until now, no proof have shown anything…
Couldn't care less what they're doing, that wasn't my point. Also, debunked? By whom? By his agency. It's like when two people fighting: "You did it." "No, you did it." So, nothing is debunked at all.
I was predicting Kim Taeri to win Best Actress and IU to win Daesang, since Daesang is more of a cultural impact…
Really? So, you think Baeksang is not a cheating Award? Did you watch them in 2024? Like I said above, they gave 3 different Daesang that year in the TV Show category: 1 for a Variety "actor", Jaesuk, 1 for "Moving" and 1 for two cinematographers of a documentary!
I was predicting Kim Taeri to win Best Actress and IU to win Daesang, since Daesang is more of a cultural impact…
Yes, I know, and Baeksang 2024 was even more ridiculous. You know why? Because not only Yoo Jae-suk won the Grand Prize, but the Disney show "Moving" and Kim Dong-shik, Im Wan-ho (cinematography) β "Whales and I" too, so they give 3 different Daesang that year in the same category!
My understanding is that the rookie award is open to actors who have not had significant roles in more than three…
What? There's literally zero difference between actual Rookie actors and Seniors. You can see 100s of rookies and seniors every year, but you still have to pick 4 or 5. If they did a good job, you can tell, just like you can tell with senior actors. You judge their performance the same way, so it's not more difficult.
That's why they should nominate THE BEST and not the MOST POPULAR ones, btw. Who cares about budget and popularity? If an actor is good, the rest doesn't matter. The fact that Lovely Runner actors were nominated proves my point. The only reason they were nominated because that show was the most mainstream last year.
I can tell by looking at their faces they don't know why are they even nominated. No offense to them, they're not bad actors, it's just their roles were bang average at best.
To be fair, I live in delulu land where these so called prestigious awards only nominate the best, and they don't try to include mainstream in the list for more views. Sadly, that's how this industry work all-around the world.
