In normal ML-FL relationships there are dynamics that work. Allowing the man to lead is a major one. Learning the boundaries of relationship leadership is another. Even though RJ and Fang gang had an unusual dynamic she still relinquishes leadership in the relationship to him. For the main leads, he is in control and so he has to take the lead and propose. She can guide and set the pace but for them he must lead. She never needed to chase him because he was a steady leader; she trusted him completely and that is a massive display of love.

And this is typical for most heterosexual relationships. All relationships must set leadership, pace and direction.
3rd couple fell apart because he didn't agree with her direction and she didn't agree with his plan (leadership).

She isn't specifically interested in him. He's just a really great guy by general standards; so it would be cool to be HIS significant other.

I thought she would be the problem but the way he reacted shocked me. An only child should not take anything from her supportive and loving parent because of????
She really deserved better .My advise to her: maybe she should stop hanging out in places he can afford to enter.

The romance doesn't live up to the title but it's still a solid lovestory.
The mother is probably one of the worse fictional mothers ever. She's as bad as the stepmothers archetypes. She had a "redemption arc" and they "mend" fences but I never forgive her and I will always hate her and I felt like LBY and CSS also place some distance with her.
Sorry it didn't work for you, I feel like this is one of the better ones.

She finds a mother in the Empress and grows up shedding her ignorance and childishness. Its really lovely to watch.
I think unlike alot of female leads tht are "main characters" who magically are smarter and better than everyone in their era, CSS feels very realistically out of her depth like real people do in real life as you grow older and are suddenly expected to have a plan and be responsible.

The damage her mother was dealing her was extremely dangerous to her life because that woman might have accidentally killed her from a beating eventually. Her "mother" was aware she was being abused while they were away and let it happen so she could win against the grandmother. SS could have died as collateral for that plan.

I planned to rewatch the whole show but the mother and my dissatisfaction with the LBY-CSS cp is holding me back.

I get what you mean. But unlike BIA (I haven't watched JJL), she has no foundation to pull personal strength from, she's a girl alone and she needs a home and LY's was the best option because he was willing to fight for her. CSS is realistically young and ignorant even though she is smart.

But as a slowburn I don't think the development was too little. We see LBY having unrequited love and CSS "noticing" him in S1.
I think the problem is their personality types and intelligence levels are too far apart. The story makes up for this as she changes alot in S2.

He literally forces her by making the Emperor propose marriage. He, the Emperor and the prince then manipulate her to give him her heart and she decides to make the best if the situation and accept her marriage and his love. I don't mind it but I wouldn't classify their lovestory as "a love like the galaxy" more like making the best of my forced arranged marriage with by manipulative husband!
Unlike, Gu Ting Ye (in SOML) who also manipulated his way to love, the LBY never feels guilty for uprooting her dreams of a simple peaceful life but even betrays her for "personal" reasons.

While I love this series and I'm happy with the ending; I also preferred her with LY

She got her revenge! She killed the person that sent her away! And I don't know if we can consider her deserving of vengeance against SYR but she got that too by ruining SYR's plan by really dying. If the coup worked Prince Cheng would have a falling out with SYR because of it.
She might have suffered more but she meted out equal suffering to everyone she could overpower which was almost everyone.

When I started watching this I didn't realise there were epilogue scenes, so I was underwhelmed by TXN as the female lead and object of a 10 year crush. Without the context of the epilogue POV I only saw a pleasant but dull character in the first few episodes but when I caught up on the additional scenes I finally saw what he sees and what we were meant to look forward to seeing when she finally finds herself again.
As an adult she had definitely lost some of her sparkle and refreshing aura because of her failed relationship and stagnation at work but in the later episodes (15-24), you can she her coming back to life and the bubbly personality coming through again.
I'm at Ep 24 and I like the story and character progression so far; I'm really looking forward to a beautiful end to this lovely story.

She the type to show up at their wedding and object 🤭🤪. The audacity to serenade someone in front of their partner!

It's my first time watching his drama; everyone recommends Perfect And Casual and Unforgettable Love but I didn't and now I have two dramas I need to catch up on😅

I feel really bad for wishing the 3rd couple would breakup but I'm really not hopeful

Realistically speaking, I don't see how the bestie- driver cp works out. She's really childish and a brat; she's a lovely person but I don't think she can hack a "normal" relationship with a "working class" spouse. Unless she grows up quickly, he would have to carry too much of the relationship workload.
